Itinerary:
Khardung La Pass
Our adventure kicks off with a thrilling drive to Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an elevation of 5,359 m (17,582 ft). The breathtaking views from the top are a sight to behold, offering panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and valleys. Join me as we conquer this iconic pass and soak in the majestic beauty.
Diskit Monastery
Next, we head to the serene Diskit Monastery, the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra Valley. Home to a 106-foot tall Maitreya Buddha statue, this monastery offers spiritual solace and stunning views of the valley below. Explore the rich history and tranquil ambiance of this sacred site with me.
Hunder Sand Dunes
Our final stop for the day is the magical Hunder Sand Dunes, a unique desert landscape surrounded by mountains. Here, you can experience a camel ride on double-humped Bactrian camels, adding a touch of adventure to our journey. The shifting sands and the cool breeze make this a perfect spot for relaxation and photography.
