They may have had a comedian at the show but it doesn't mean it's a comedy show per say where you sign up to get verbally blasted in front of millions unless they come up to said celebrity and let them know they have this bit and it's about them and is it OK. That's the proper way to do it on such a prestigious night. It's an awards show.

I think Will has blown his career and reputation. In this day & age, no one needs to provide proof they met a famous actor just to be able to claim so, and the people who DEMAND proof are the sad people who think everything needs to be photographed in order to be true.
I didn't work on the movie but I watched them sweep a beach in Mendocino of all the footprints to make it look like no one had walked on it before. It was weird sitting there watching people with push brooms sweeping the sand.

Why Will Smith was not arrested for assault on the spot is AMAZING to me. We live in an upside-down INSANE world now.
Everyone thought it was part of some planned skit between them. That's why nothing was done. Chris Rock laughing it off didn't help. Had he reacted differently and used the mic to call for security then I think everyone there would have taken it seriously. Chris shouldn't have laughed it off. He should have used the mic to demand security and got his phone out to call the police on stage. Does anyone else feel this was fake? I've seen stage slaps so many times and actors are good at making things look real, that's kind of their job. But if you really look at both Will and Chris, they're both smiling and laughing and Chris doesn't change face at all. It's a natural human reflex to make a shocked or sad or mad face when you get slapped. It's not something that can be controlled. Neither one had that. The slap looks more fake than things I've seen on AEW and WWE wrestling. So let's just pretend that this was fake/staged.
