don't bother getting a tutor, I learned fluent French by starting with les nouvelles en français facile, listening to tons of podcasts (don't take it seriously, just bathe in them and you start hearing more clearly and learninf words from context), and watch French shows on netflix (absolutely with French subtitles: you will learn nothing if subtitles are in English).
