I'm sleepy all the time too. Going to bed at 12 is definitely not working for me because I don't fall asleep until 1 or 2. So, I'm aiming to go to bed at 11 pm now. I would be so down to see an enemies to lovers arc between Harley Quinn and Jessica Jones. Bonding over shithead supervillain men who used and abused them, Jessica Jones doing her detective work and Harley Quinn's chaotic energy interrupting it and accelerating the plans to take down some criminal organization or corrupt official or whatever. It'd be solid stuff. Honestly it'd be pretty interesting to see them trade off on nemeses because like. I'm pretty sure Jessica Jones could just Brute Force her way through the Joker, since he doesn't have the sometimes protection of Harley's trauma holding her back, and there could be an argument made for Harley to be able to ignore the Purple Man's mind control through either insanity or comical ear blockage (like she fell in a crate of cotton and it plugged her ears or something, I forget exactly how Purple Man's powers work). Basically both stepping up to cover the other if their big bad gets them to freeze at a critical moment
@@HannahLeeKidder I'll have to put it on a list, for a time when I've consumed more than a season of the Jessica Jones show and a smattering of Harley Quinn content from various places. First up will probably be an Animorphs fanfic of the book I'm reading now that's grabbed me right in the imagination
"Write what's fun for you" is great advice for getting back into writing. The way I recently got back into it was by starting a project I called "Silly Little Stories" where I would just write what I felt like writing, without worrying about it being good, or about structure, or what the story would turn into in the end. If I wanted something to happen just for the fun of it, then it would, because it was just a Silly Little Story. I've actually dropped the Silly Little Stories now to get back to my long-term writing projects -- but I think it was a nice way to ease myself into the right headspace.
Hannah!!! this was on my first page recommended!!!! I'm a subscriber obviously but idk what you did to make the algorithm like you and just wanted to let you know GOOD JOB YOU'RE DOIN GREAT happy to see another video pop up on my feed
I know the adage of “just write” is echoed in most writing communities but it’s so true. Before I learned to just write, I had so many ideas for stories and would be paralyzed to get started. I think there isn’t enough information about the drafting process and there are tons of misconceptions about an authors success. The first draft is often a cringe inducing mess. I try to keep my grammar clean but I don’t let it stop me from getting through the story. It’s going to be rough, it’s going to read really clumsy. The second draft is where it all starts to straighten out and you can focus heavily on continuity and grammar. It’s so much easier to find mistakes when the bulk of it is already written. Then comes a third draft or you hand it off to an editor to really hone the story. You may even draft again after that. But I used to think good writers did it the first time and had it edited and published. So hopefully someone can relate and maybe get into writing.
The number of times I'll write a bunch of paragraphs and have to go back and reword half of the sentences to not start with I is incalculable it is a disease and I am fully in its throes (but it is good practice for avoiding repetition in writing in general so there's that at least)
haha i had a writing instructor that was like "yanno, people use 'I' out loud more than you might thing" bc I would simply have the exact same sentence structure, just not use the word "I" first. natural, flows like a river, 10/10 it is how people talk.
@@HannahLeeKidder True true. But if I'm rereading something I wrote and getting annoyed by how insufferable it sounds when it's "I. And I. But I" over and over I can't imagine how annoying it's gotta be for people who /aren't/ me 😂
The idea of having multiple life experiences with ducks is pretty adorable. Though it would be quite funny to have ducklings following me around my apartment.
I wish my city had a person that took care of the roadkill because it makes me really sad to see it but I can't mentally do anything to help, I just die inside. which is also why despite my love for animals I could never be a vet. although those animals with a physical disability like a missing eye or limb I instinctively like more, they just have immediate character to them you know? with the "normal" ones you have to work in order to get the same amount of character
oh, oops. even if I would, vet bills are too high. That still makes me sound evil doesn't it? Unrelated I do have a one eyed cat that had both his eyes when I got him but I'm just going to chalk that up to the hubris of his name, I mean what did we expect when we named him Captain? and he very much has the personality of a pirate.
Girl if you need a wall to bounce off of for your poetry you know I gotchu lol And as someone with a creative writing degree, I can vouch for how UPSET - genuinely upset people/professors are when they asked why I had a Lit degree (with a concentration in creative writing) and I told them my answer. I would hear "Oh so you're going to become a teacher :D" And I'm like....wtf? No? I'm going to write...literature, usually in the brand that y'all don't wanna read. I also feel every video is a cry for help XD Also Goush I'm coming for your spot
Most of the English professors I interacted with were the same way. Unless they were hippie enough to have no opinions, love those guys. Is it the crying?
Cloaks! I forgot I made that tweet and now the idea of cloaks is combining with my current (which will likely be gone in a week) focus on roller blades/free skates and now I'm just imagining gliding down the street in a cloak long enough to cover the means of movement but not long enough to trip me up and making people think I'm some kind of medieval specter or something
@@HannahLeeKidder At the very least a solid halloween costume but if I try hard enough I can probably pull it off in the day to day. Give my city a new cryptid and all that
My writing professors sucked. They were terrible writers who taught because they were terrible and spent their time telling me how terrible I was and how I should quit. I don't recommend going to school for writing.
To avoid overusing “I” try keeping an eye out for filter sentences. “I hear the washing machine” or “I smell dinner on the stove” can be “my housemate is running a load of laundry and making fajitas for dinner”. Or “I notice the sky out the window is grey” can be “Heavy clouds rolled in while I was folding laundry” Also. Yes please make more Briar Manor content! It’s a masterpiece!
Poetry is like art. No one knows what’s good or bad you go with your feelings. Sorry girl but Harley Quinn would take Jessica Jones. Have you read any Sara Clancy? You should read The Harvest.
I’ve seen you before. Did you use to sing for a blind Irish man in Leadville? Did you know a girl named Velvet? You look skinny. I bet you feel skinny. I don’t mind girls who write poetry as long as they have green eyes to make up for it. It’s okay, they don’t have to have green eyes.
Super excited that you're bringing the Twilight series back!
I appreciate how honest and straightforward you are with these answers ❤
