Hello everyone! 😊 It's been about 4 months since I posted this video, but I've gotten a comment about her water bowl several times now, so I just wanted to address it. First of all, thank you so much for the concern! It means the world that people are concerned about the well being of Zsasz ❤. I ended up taking the water bowl out a little bit after posting the video, because she wouldn't drink out of it. In this video I stated that I just wanted to test it out, I did, it failed 🙃. I assure you guys, I monitored her humidity, and it didn't go up any at all. A small water bowl is fine in a bearded dragon tank as long as you monitor the humidity (with a hygrometer), and you make sure it is away from the heat lamp. Yes, I spray her salads down with water, and yes I give her baths (I've talked about both of these things in various videos previously). I don't spray her nose down, because she hates it (haha). I've just gotten this comment a lot, so I decided to just pin a comment instead of responding to it over and over. Again, thanks so much for the concern, it really does make my heart smile. You guys are awesome and I hope you have a fantastic day!!! 😊
Elle's Reptiles hey there!! So out of curiosity, what did you order for the background. I ordered a 2’ x 8’ banner (I built my dragon Dexter a similar sized cage) and when it came in it was a paper picture not a shiny/laminated “photo” like yours? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Hi, this is an amazing enclosure and I am going to attempt the same project next week; my question is why did you replace the sliding glass doors with plexiglass? Is that just a preference or do they work better than glass doors? Thank you.
What a beautiful upgraded tank! I agree she needed a bigger tank and so glad she got one. I'm so happy she's back to her old self again. She's been through alot. I'm sure in time she will love her new tank😍
Mine wasn’t drinking out of a water bowl either until I started putting powdered calcium in the water dish. It floats for a while and mine loves the calcium. It’s like ice cream to him. He puts his whole face in it he bowl now and drinks a ton while eating the calcium as well. 2 birds one dish!! Good luck! And thanks for the ideas.
I am so happy that I stumbled onto this video!! I was stressing about having to spend $300+ on a large tank.. A jewelry display case or something similar is genius! I have already been able to find a few on craigslist for less than $200.
I want you to know, I'm going through a scary situation with my boy Linux, I love him so much and he's not doing great. I've been crying and devastated....your positive voice and optimism really helped me today, I just wanted to say thank you! The jewelry case is such an innovative idea, love this set up, keep being awesome. Again thank you, I was in such a dark head space before this video, really raised my spirit's Xo.
I am just now watching this video. I love Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. We found a 45 gallon aquarium with light kit and a cabinet stand for $90. It is super cool that you were able to repurpose a jewelry display. I just built the background for my Leopard Gecko's new 36x18x18 enclosure.
If been dying to try to figure out how I'm going to upgrade my kami's tank and I've gone over ideas. I'm so glad I found your video. I will be doing this!
That's bloody amazing! You really care about her! I'm looking for inspo and I just can't do anything like that! Mind blown!! Well done she's one lucky dragon 🥺❤️
This is so nice! We used an entertainment center that already had sliding doors. It was very time consuming with the painting of the inside & sealing. This looks like auch better idea. Love how it turned out!
That sounds awesome! I recently saw a picture of someone that had turned their entertainment center into a beardie tank, and I was just wishing I had thought to do that.
Thank You Elle's Reptiles for the DIY Hide out Decor Idea -Contruction -and the whole concept has helped me alot on this (My 1st build) Ive Liked this video and also subscribed for future Reptile content for Rookies like myself .
Looks sharp, well done. I have had nice results with cleaning lexan and other plastics with automotive polishing compounds and polish. Might help with your glue marks.
Im currently thinking on getting me a Beardie I love how detailed your videos are and your new Bearded Dragon set-up is beautiful 🥰❤️. Your dragon looks healthy and very tame your tips and advice are helping many Beardie owners. Thank you for your Dedicated hard work🙏
It just so happened that I seen this video last night and found this exact display case at my local drift store today for only $3 bucks!!! After seeing your video, I just had to jump on that deal!!!! Now it's time to create a new home for my new Beardie!!!! Thank you so much for this video!!!
So I ended up replacing all the glass with 1/4-in Common Sumauma Plywood Underlayment wood for the sides and the back. For the top I will be using a stronger and thicker wood to mount the lighting and heating fixtures. I will also be cutting out a hole about 30 inches by 6 inches in the rear center towards the top to mount a grate for ventilation and for the front I have two sliding glass doors. I've decided to go with this route because wood is better than glass to maintain heat. I will be staining the wood and sealing it all with non toxic stuff available at Lowes to make it look good and flush mounting temp gauges and humidity gauges as well. So far it's coming out great!
Thank you so much for this video!!! I ended up finding that exact same glass case and did my own version of this!! This was so helpful your tank looks incredible!!
This tank looks awesome. I woy recommend checking the cool side of the tank it seems like you may want to move the basking spot far to one side so she has somewhere to go to cool off
Thank you! 😊 I made sure to check all the temperatures (with a temperature gun of course). Since the tank is so tall, the wood actually casts a shadow on the floor under the basking spot, which cools that area down, and then the left side is all a cool side 😊 she has lots of temp options in the tank!
Love this video. I built my baby beardy's setup much like this, but with a tank. When I saw your video it gave me more confidence in what I had done. Now I know about your jewelry case idea I'm going to be on the look out for one.
Wd40 also helps remove silicone, sprayand leave for 1-3 minutes and scrape. It comes off in long strips :) Had to remove some the other day to make an enclosure for my future bearded dragon.
Not too sure if you still have the glue on the door but you could try acetone or get a scraper, one with a nice sharp blade and scrape it off carefully
Awesome job I wish I had the tools and help to make something nice like that. I don't have a beardie at the moment but am contemplating on getting one in the next week or so.
It looks amazing! What did you use to seal the paint? Also don’t her claws scratch off bits of the styrofoam? I would be worried that bits would come off that she could ingest 😢
Alot of people who make the caves and hides using styrofoam typically cover the grout in polyurethane witch is pet safe once its completely dry and that can take up to a week even longer if it's a thick coating. The grout itself.is fine but hard to clean. And if u want to make those, got to the hardware store, buy insulation foam sheets. They make so much less of mess and are more dense.
Great ideas guys! Any ideas for a sealant/top coat/varnish type of thing that is pet safe and completely waterproof? I have been working on some aquarium decorations out of polymer clay which will be painted with acrylic paint but I need something to ensure it doesn't get destroyed by the water or degrade slowly and leach some kind of crap that would kill my fish.
I used the prepare grout. I put some in a bucket and added a bit of water to thin it out and painted it on styrofoam insulation for the background. Worked wonderful.
LOVE IT!!!!! You truly inspire me; watching your video's make me feel adventurous. I've been wanting to upgrade my beardies tank, after seeing this I think I'm ready :) I'm glad I found your channel when I did ♥♥ ♥♥♥♥
Good vid. Have one suggestion for you. You could’ve just added some water to some of your premixed grout and it probably would have made your first layer much easier. Maybe for your next one.
When I saw you removing the plastic i thought "oh no" as I have all ready made that mistake myself. I think video's like yours are important as more people would have made the same mistakes however you saved them.
I have been trying to remember where I had seen some sliding glass door... thing.... shows you how seldom I go shopping to even be reminded when I'm passing by display cases, lol. Thank you so much for this video!!
Thank you so much for showing us how you get the backgrounds. Nice job all around, this looks so fun and I can’t wait to do something like this for my ball python.
I do wish this was more detailed n maybe slow motion lol I like to do kind of the same with my own twist but it’s hard to see the details and what they exactly used this is awesome!
This set up looks amazing! I need to do a tank overhaul for my beardie and I wanted to ask how you keep track of temp & humidity and do you use an under-tank heat source in addition to the basking lamp with this set up? Trying to gather ideas.
New to the channel! Love the habitat and background, looking to do something for the reflection in mine. Would a backdrop like that with the mod podge be best? Or could something like krylon dulling spray be used?

Elle's Reptiles can you make a custom tank for me like that one? I’ll pay 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hi, this is an amazing enclosure and I am going to attempt the same project next week; my question is why did you replace the sliding glass doors with plexiglass? Is that just a preference or do they work better than glass doors? Thank you.
Stone Michaels yes I was wondering the same thing did you build yours? How did that work out

Dad's are always the real MVP's!!! The tank is fabulous and using the jewelry case is a great idea! I would have never thought of that!
Huge shoutout to your dad for being so awesome. Dads for the win.

I’ve watch this video before… but I finally purchased a bigger tank. Anyways we are happy to update and this video gives a lot of inspiration

This was the most creative video I have seen in a long time. It came out amazing. Great job

And it is cool that you reply to people who ask questions.
Thank you so much! I definitely try to get to all the comments that I can 😊
You are funny. I'd rather watch you do these every week for repiles, than watch the fish tank guys on discovery channel. Nice tank setup
Aww thank you so much!!! 😊😁

The tank looks amazing! I think adding the background picture and fake plants made it all the more better.
Thanks so much 😊
Janai Henderson you can use real plants that they eat like all vera and some other. Look at bio dude. He is great.

Thats great!! 3$!! Wow
The enclosure is beautiful. What a great Idea!!!
Thank you so much! 😊
THANK YOU for the background hack!!!! I was needing a big picture for my new 48" 18" 18" tank and this is great!!
I have so been wanting to upgrade Mushu's tank! I didn't even really think about jewelry cases! Thanks for posting these! Love it!
Thank you! I never did either until I saw some at Habitat For Humanity. 😊
I really liked this video and it gave me great inspiration for what I could do for my bearded dragon's enclosure. Thank you. Awesome work by the way.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I ended up finding that exact same glass case and did my own version of this!! This was so helpful your tank looks incredible!!
Looks amazing. Going through so many videos getting ideas for my 150 gallon beardie terrarium project.
Thank you! 😊
Excellent job so creative, love how you used styrofoam looks so realistic!! 🤍
Just a tip, you can add more water to pre mixed grout! looks lovely as youve done it, well done!
Love your videos. I actually used your idea on the background banner at Walmart and it looks fabulous. Thanks for all of the great ideas.

You’re amazing and knowledgeable. Thank you for sharing from your point of view
Wd40 also helps remove silicone, sprayand leave for 1-3 minutes and scrape. It comes off in long strips :)
Had to remove some the other day to make an enclosure for my future bearded dragon.
Speechless beyond words exactly as I dreamed mines wow is a dream is magical I love it
Not too sure if you still have the glue on the door but you could try acetone or get a scraper, one with a nice sharp blade and scrape it off carefully

It looks amazing! What did you use to seal the paint? Also don’t her claws scratch off bits of the styrofoam? I would be worried that bits would come off that she could ingest 😢
They are covered/sealed with grout. Grout dries REALLY hard (think - Stucco house). No way she can scratch through.
Alot of people who make the caves and hides using styrofoam typically cover the grout in polyurethane witch is pet safe once its completely dry and that can take up to a week even longer if it's a thick coating.

Littlewings - Varathane Polyurathane Sealant. Lower VOC than Polycrylic.
I used the prepare grout. I put some in a bucket and added a bit of water to thin it out and painted it on styrofoam insulation for the background. Worked wonderful.
I don't know how u are so good at drawing?!... Like honestly though, that little sketch of the tank was insane!!
Thank you for sharing looks Amazing! You guys have done a great job 👍 the Hide is A Fabulous idea thanks again for sharing.

Seems like you basically built it from scratch. Nice work!
This is amazing!! I recently acquired a bearded dragon, you’ve been so helpful.
Good vid. Have one suggestion for you. You could’ve just added some water to some of your premixed grout and it probably would have made your first layer much easier. Maybe for your next one.
Awesome thank you! I didn't know you could add water to premixed grout, so I'll definitely try that next time! 😊

You're welcome! I'd love to see that!
You are the most amazing woman I’ve ever seen holding a bearded dragon 😩❤️
Wow! The work you put into this tank. Awesome🤓💕🦎
Thank you! 😊
That is such a good idea !!!! My beardie will need an upgrade in probably less than a year !
Thank you! 😊
You did an amazing job! I love it ❤️ Thanks for sharing!!!
I do wish this was more detailed n maybe slow motion lol I like to do kind of the same with my own twist but it’s hard to see the details and what they exactly used this is awesome!
Did you seal the paint? If using acrylic paint it must be sealed very well.
More information on securing that light inside? And the brackets?
Is it okay for the dragon to go in the tank after you use this for the background or how long do you suggest that we wait to put him back in?
This is absolutely amazing.
Thank you so much ♥️
Wow, that's really awesome!
This set up looks amazing! I need to do a tank overhaul for my beardie and I wanted to ask how you keep track of temp & humidity and do you use an under-tank heat source in addition to the basking lamp with this set up? Trying to gather ideas.
Love it!! Great job girl!!
Dang that old tank would be awesome for my beardie
Wow that’s really good!!! I like it a lot 👍👍
Great video some nice Ideas will definitely use them on my next tank 👍 😀

Great video! Very Nice! Beautiful bearded dragon. Thank you!
Thanks! 😊
New to the channel! Love the habitat and background, looking to do something for the reflection in mine. Would a backdrop like that with the mod podge be best? Or could something like krylon dulling spray be used?
Wow really informative video been upgrading my tank as well will use a lot of this really helped keep up the awesome job and videos 📹👏👍
Yo shout out to your dad for all that awesome help! Looks great!
Very creative! Gave me some good ideas for my bearded dragon Mushu’s tank!
Hey my boyfriend has a beardie with the same name!
