Everyone says that, but the old club heads just want to sit in silence and watch the match, complain about "football style" supporters, and clap for small things...
Fair analysis guys. As a kiwi I’m excited to see what Razor will do with the ABs. Jeez man, a ticket to a test in Dublin is EXPENSIVE ! Surely the average fan can’t afford that ? I love the rivalry Ireland & NZ have now, it can only be good for international footy. Until we clash again guys, all the best 👍
I look at the 23 players in the team last weekend and while I know that there will be breakout players coming in, and injuries preventing others from being there, there are only a couple who will be too old to still be around for the next RWC. Overall, we look to be putting together a good group of players, and the more time they have together, the more they will gel, and then we can see strategic tweaks and new plays being introduced.
Hit the nail on the head - IRFU's ticketing system allocates plenty to local clubs around the country (obviously no issue there) but the heaps of the leftovers go to corporate sponsors or well connected companies leading to massively inflated general sale tickets. Even worse, most of the people attending on the corporate tickets are there for a day out rather than the rugby, it's killing our home advantage and I imagine it pisses the players off to high hell. Till next year in Chicago 🤝
13 Penalties 30 Missed Tackles 21 Handling Errors 11 Turnovers Conceded 5 Rucks Lost 3 Lineouts Lost 1 Scrum Lost 0 Bench Impact Never compete with the ABs if you play like that. As an Irishman I am happy we had some manners put on us. We needed it.
Spot on. Lots of AB fans going on like we are 'making excuses' and all of the above stats are because NZ pressured us so much. We've played games with 10x pressure and not come close to any of these numbers. We stank on Friday and it was a good wake up call. However, we have bigger problems with bench and an over all ageing team. Really hoping Easterby can go and forfeit any effort to win a 6 nations with a view of just getting younger lads playing tournament games. IRFU heads probably wont allow it due to the money at stake but we need to build a squad again given that a good portion of these players wont even be around in 12/18 months let alone the 27 WC.
We’ve learned beirne is an out and out lock and that Ireland need some new explosive forwards to come off the bench. Henderson and O’Mahony lacked punch when they came on.
@@Mr.Mxyzptlk-xc7ve Nothing lost in November. Would like to see Andy starting to filter in some new players with the World Cup in mind and let’s face it, O’Mahony and Henderson ain’t making that despite them being wonderful servants to Irish rugby.
Spot on, lads like izzy and baird need to be given a chance at 6. Both can create moments of magic out of nothing which is seriously lacking in the rest of the team
@@DannyBrah272lol give the guy a break. He’s a bit older now. I think what we are seeing is how Leinster domination may not be good for Ireland to get to the very top. Peak Ireland had stars from Munster and Ulster too.
Ridiculous ticket prices will damage rugby. Imagine an average guy trying to take his teenage son and a mate to a game- he’d be looking at €500 for tickets and a drink or two at the ground let alone buying any merch or tat. Chuck in parking and travel or a hotel and suddenly it’s pushing a grand. Utter madness.
The rivalry is really an Irish invention that’s little more than self aggrandisement. Every tier one team is a big deal for the AB’s to play, it’s just the Irish acting like victimhood addicted twattazoids for the last few years has made the desire to beat them feel like a more important task.
Too much analysis! Ireland is a quality side. They just lost a tough game against a top side. It happens. Streaks end and getting it ended by NZ is honorable in itself.
Atmosphere doesn’t help against quality teams. If it did, the AB’s would never win at Ellis Park and the Springboks would not have won against France in the ‘23 WC
Ireland built that team and tgat winning record over a lot of years. However, a lot changes in 4-5 years and winning teams need to stay on the cutting edge. What we saw was a team ascending and a team on its downward turn. Lot of time between now and the next WC, mind you.
I agree with the analysis but it has to be pointed out the Aviva stadium is notorious dull. For the most part people are their for entertainment not to support the team. This has been going on for years and years, you can go back to Lansdowne road and it was the same. The prawn sandwich brigade are running the show
How can that be stopped? I’ve been trying to get a ticket for the last 2/3 years, and I get “all sold out”. The atmosphere was dismal, would it be different on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon? I feel very frustrated with it all.
The Aviva isn't the problem, it's the IRFU's habit of dolling out way too many tickets to corporate sponsors and the likes and hiking general sales to the point that most people are priced out. The stadium is always rocking for Champ Cup matches because actual leinster fans are able to get tickets without having to remortgage the gaff
@@lizzyhanahoe4197 your guess is as good as mine. I remember going to my first game with a mate, V Scotland late 90's. Myself and my mate really giving it some in the crowd and 2 blokes in anoraks talking about their wives in front of us for the whole game. I mean it was a let down
I've been following the rugby since late nineties. Got tickets for the old Landowne road for Ireland v Italy in the 2006 6 Nations. The atmosphere was woeful. Never went again. I have been to Scotland v Ireland in Murrayfield a few times, and the atmosphere is always brilliant.
The handling errors were mostly unforced. The critical point of the game came when Ireland were pushing for a second try that might have put them 12 points up and James Lowe was penalized for silly neck roll. Had they scored then I think the game might have gone differently. They did not and the the AB's went on to win and fully deserved it.
It was the poorest I've ever seen Ireland set piece in my memory, but definitely the Irish got refereed for the first time since the world cup at the breakdown and it was a pleasure to see. Also I completely agree when you bring on 3 players with a combined age of 107 and none of them are in form or regular starters for munster and leinster it ls a show of a possible lack of depth or confidence in the next generation from farrell and something he needs to fix. Starting 15 shouldn't win you the game it's the bench as well and either continuing the intensity or raising it when they come on.
I believe AF got coach of the year after the WC, everyone is always saying what a great coach he is. So I do not understand why he is putting on these aging players when he does have younger ones to test out. Surely it’s time to take that risk, it will have to happen soon, so why not now? Let’s take a gamble, if we lose at least these players are getting game experience at this high level. I am not disrespecting these older players they have given there all ☘☘
Every team tries to get an edge at breakdowns, adjusting to how theref is seeing things is another matter, Ireland were caught out there, not as sharp as they would normally be. Seemed to create panic across the team, also the 2 no. 10's have not had many starts, Crowley getting a few minutes at the end replacing Sexton and Frawley coming off the bench to over a number of positions through his 7 caps, someone like Sexton may have employed a different strategy.
@@lizzyhanahoe4197No one tests new players against the kiwis except out of desperation. And with how much pressure they put us under in game they would not have had a good time with the media scrutiny that comes afterwards. It’s bad enough for Crowley and Frawley where people don’t respect they have less then 30 caps between themselves
They won a six nations this year and beat SA where NZ can't only a couple months ago. One bad performance and we start writing them off makes me worried.
Ireland need to bring Casey and Henshaw,Baird and Conan back into the Squad. Not sure why Gavin Coombes cant make the squad?Hopefully Dan Sheehan will back next year .Also Tom Clarkson and Sam Prendergast as the new no10 should be brought in.
Ireland barely made it past one phase and the bash up ball using Bundee was a bit predictable. Needed our forwards to bash it up tight and pick around the edges to build points and leave them chasing the game as we don’t do that well.
Yeah, think our attack is just a bit stale and teams have worked it out. We don't produce the gamebreakers than the SH produce or the pure bulk up front, so we have to rely on a clever gameplan executed well. The second we dont execute it well, it goes badly. We saw with Schmidt, teams worked it out. We have to be constantly evolving. I do worry about the teams ability to adapt to what's in front of them. Hopefully we learn from this
@@aidanmasterson50 it's why I'm a fan of a backline to include Osborne and Nash. Lowes boot is great, and he has that power but I think we can set up a lot better. Backline of Keenan, Hansen, Nash, Osborne, Ringrose could be a good starting point. Pack needs a bit of injection. We have a very dynamic pack, but I'd love to see a bit if a shuffle there too. And yes, Plan B has always been a problem. The way SA took control against Scotland. When Russell scored that penalty on 60, they just adapted. They switched up and went up a gear, ground out some penalties and scored 13 points in the last 15 to put it to bed. Can't remember the last time we did something like that
Great analysis again, as always guys!! Absolutely shocking performance from Ireland against the all blacks! A game that most certainly didn't live up to the hype!! A chance at revenge for Ireland and they completely bottled it! Never fired a shot! As for the atmosphere, Irish fans have been absolutely amazing and supported that Irish team far and wide. The prices are absolutely ridiculous and especially when the stadiums are packed out every week! Ireland need to deliver a serious performance on Friday or questions will be asked. I think you guys made a great point on our bench! Healy has been a great servant to Ireland but he's well past his best now and can barely play 10 minutes off the bench!! Either that or they're terrified of taking Porter off!! Made the same mistake with Furlong! Leaving him on for way too long in such a physically demanding position! Get young props on like Milne, Clarkson etc. We need some young bloods coming through now!! Craig Casey in for Murray now, who's also a great servant and respect for him , Henderson and O'Mahony but all well past their best!! Bring in Casey, Baird, Prendergast, Coombes and Aherne now!!! I think we need to also get Jager and Loughman some game time and see what they can do. They're nowhere near the level of Porter and Furlong but at least they can last and aren't ancient! Get them on!!🏉🏉🇮🇪🇮🇪
First game of the season, half the players had 0 or close to 0 game time. Leo Cullen also rested all the Leinster players for 3 weeks for no reason. Only 4 players had played since the game against Munster a month ago. It was a rainy day and pretty much every player dropped the ball at least once. Lots to improve on but they will improve. It's a real shame we gave such a bad performance against New Zealand but i'd bet if we were playing them this weekend it would be a lot closer.
are you joking mate more bullshit there than than my government says day in day out.drop ball wet no one playing bah bah you lot would be the biggest whinging fans in rugby go way
@@rianpp3696why would we be? The 3 losses were against England, the Boks and the ABs. They’re all quality sides. And you’re conveniently overlooking the fact that our 2nd last match was a win in SA against the world champs. If you look at the ABs they had 2 losses in the last 5 and they were incredibly lucky it wasn’t 3. Ireland had a bad day, that’s it. They were rusty, the conditions didn’t suit them and they came up against a good AB side. Now, if we don’t win the next 3 games, I’ll start to worry.
Agree , as soon as they started dropping the ball , someone should have changed the game plan to kicking for territory as the ABs were will marshalled by our defence
I enjoy listening to the RP - we get a pretty balanced take on the games. Far cry from some of the other podcasts where one might be inclined to think that Irish Rugby had just posted its R.I.P. Obituary after this loss. Not sure why so much doom and gloom about this result - just realistically speaking, taking on the All Blacks in the first match of the Autumn Series was always going to be a tall order. The list of mistakes, penalties, turnovers, etc, Ireland made in the game reflected the match sharpness and focus of the All Blacks - give credit where credit is due. Argentina is next up - Felipe Contepomi will have his troops ready. Question now is will Andy Farrell/Simon Easterby have had enough time to sharpen up the overall play of this team?
What I noticed being at the game last Friday night was this , too many people more concerned about getting their next pint of beer than actually sitting down and watching the match, someone every couple of minutes getting by you on way to the toilet's, no comfort and too expensive, next up is Argentina and will be watching it on the couch.
The ref is what he is, Ireland have never been able to adapt to the referee. Whether offside line or at scrum time. There is no doubt that Ireland were poor and one can make excuses but sometimes these things happen. It’s only a concern if it becomes a pattern. If it is a one off then I can live with that.
Saffa here, I agree 100%. They're a class outfit and I expect Ireland to bounce back. They don't become poor as a result of one game. The rise of Irish and French rugby has made rugby more interesting. I hope Wales and Aus can sort themselves too, Aus might do so before Wales though... How good is it that Argentina and Scotland are capable of good results now too! ( We wont talk about Italy just yet).
@@apeman2981 Great comment! I can handle banter and give it back but it is so refreshing to read something of worth for all nations. It makes a nice change from reading horrible, petty and sometimes nasty comments. As an Irish fan, I thank you.
@@apeman2981 spot on, I appreciate the positivity aswell. The more teams that are up there and competitive the better for us all and the game in general. I think Australia look to have improved greatly. NZ look to be getting their arses in to gear. SA are top of the tree and have a great mix of everything really. Argentina are capable, as we have seen of beating anyone. The French are probably the only team other than NZ who could suddenly put 60 points on anyone. Exciting times.
@@lizzyhanahoe4197 there's enough negativity out there. We share a love of rugby and sometimes people lose sight of that. Being a Saffa that has lived in the UK now for 15+ years, having spent my formative years in SA, I can honestly say that Saffas struggle with the banter, especially when it comes to rugby. Rugby is often percieved as the only positive in SA so when Saffas feel robbed, rightly or wrongly, they really struggle with that. Rugby in SA is a way of life, not a hobby as is often the case here. I too have been jealous of Irish success at times, but I've come to realise that without it my fellow countryman would not have had the opportunities afforded to them at Munster,Leinster and elsewhere. Those experiences changed lives. We are a great big rugby family and we should never lose sight of that. Looking forward to seeing the Irish machine in action again, just not against the Boks, we need a win on Irish soil badly😅
@@apeman2981 You have brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes at the same time. I do know about how Saffas feel about rugby being their main thing. I also live in the UK and my closest neighbours and friends are SA. We watched the WC together last year in my living room, it was not an easy watch at times but we embraced it. I feel the same. I do feel that SH do have the best rugby teams, but mixing up with NH teams is best for everyone I think. I could go on and on but will leave it there. Thanks again for you oh so wise comments. All the best to you and SA ☘ but not on Irish soil, half joking 😊
Massively disappointed after such anticipation for this match. My favourite part of this game was when Garry Ringrose took out Ioane with a beautiful hard tackle. Well done Garry. Apart from that tackle and Ioane leading the Haka, I don’t remember seeing much of that big mouth. Well done NZ deserved the win on the day.
That’s what you do in rugby tackle Irelands biggest problem was underestimating the ABs same as the poms both paid the price time to move on talking ain’t going to change the outcome
@@rikiwikeepa4684 facts cuz. All these guys do is talk down the All Blacks and every time they do they get a big wake up call 😂 . Ireland are an aging team. Bealham 33 Beirne 33 in January Van Der Flier 31 Furlong 31 Aki 34 Henshaw 31 Healy 37 Herring 34 Murray 35 Lowe 32 Henderson 32 Conan 32 O'Mahony 35 Ringrose 30 in January. Gibson Park 33 in February All these players will be in their mid to late thirties by the 2027 world cup. If Ireland don't start building a new team soon then 2027 will be another failure.
@@PaulMordaunt The game is moving on from the six nations. It is a relic from the amateur days of rugby union. In its present format it won't survive much longer.
Ireland were undercooked, and NZ wasn't. Simple as that. The game against Argentina will tell us a lot. As an Irish fan. I'm not too worried. But this Friday is a big game for us!!
The endless podcasts and media mining for content on a 24 Hr bases now is building everything up more than things deserve. Same before the game. I mean the Sexton thing is silly when Sexton is no longer on the pitch.
@duncanhunter2714 No one is saying they played even ok in that game. But I don't think anyone should hit a panic button just yet either. These games should be a place to work things out and hopefully try new players now before the 6 Nations. Since when did the Autumn games become the WC?
Same story with almost every coach that takes over the ABs by World Cup time Razor well have introduced his flavour ..onwards and upward ..being a chiefs supporter I was never a Foster fan he was terrible for us but apart from a few things all in all he did ok..
That's not correct. Fozzie deserves credit for finding our new front row all though Samisoni has been out all year with injury. Roigard virtually picked himself. Sititi Love Proctor 2 new Hookers,Tosi Vaai more locks coming through Darry Holland Hotham at scrum half, Latai and he's not done yet I reckon😅
One thing that REALLY LIFTED THE ALL BLACKS, WAS THE NATIONAL ANTHEMS. Aviva Stadium ONLY PLAYED THE MAORI VERSION, not the ENGLISH VERSION straight after the MAORI, which has been sung together(one after the other) for a number of years. It was also GREAT for Rieko Ioane to LEAD THE HAKA AS WELL(this was due to Johnny Sexton's book after last years' QF loss from Ireland to the ALL BLACKS).
Ireland are missing sexton big time. Goodey is talking about Irelands brilliant 1322 shape, which gives so many options and asks defenses to make decisions. This only really works when sexton was taking it to the heat and making passes right on the line.
You’d swear Ireland lost another World Cup quarter final the way people are reacting to the loss. We played bad. It happens. NZ played a bit better and did enough to win. Rusty, a lack of discipline, mentally off? Who knows? Can they get their spark back? Who knows. But on we go.
Ireland have been brilliant in the way they have developed over the last 10 year's and that has seen them challenge the norm. Being ranked as the " 1" team meant they have a target and playing ABs and SA is hard even if you at the top of your game. What's happening is normal service being restored with SA and ABs at the very top. Thats the history of rugby. For me France have the most talented group in NH anyway.
Goodey nailed it😭 I though I was the only one who noticed how cynical IRE are in Rucks. If it’s not INTENTIONALLY slowing the ball down by holding on to the attackers arm, it’s cleaning past the ruck and tackling potential defender onto the ground and keeping out of action. It’s so well though out and meticulous. When the Refs are aware of that, Ireland never win. Same thing happened in the quarterfinals
I think there's been a bit of exaggeration over how desperate the loss really was. We lost by 10 points to an efficient AB team while conceding 12 or 13 penalties, something line 25 missed tackles and similar number of handling errors. One thing that has become clear is we, as a team, are far too committed to players with credit in the bank. Everyone knows what O'Mahony, Healy and Henderson have been capable of, but these are lads you'd bring on to protect a lead, not invigorate a team. RWC seedings are important, but ffs we have to stop priming ourselves for good autumns and then have nothing new to offer come QF time. Blood the new lads, take a few losses if they should come, and we will be the better for it.
Just about impossible for the average Joe to get a ticket, distributed to corporate interests and through rugby clubs who sell them on for corporate entertaining. Ex AB's Mils and Jeff were amazed that Ireland did n't big up the rivalry and talk about revenge, Ireland seemed to call it 'just another game' I think Ireland were ready in their heads just not in their boots or hands.
We have an issue with the front row and lineouts. If opposition teams are closing the metre gap then we need to call it out to the ref and refuse to throw in until it's maintained. Or just everyone take a step towards our 22 the second before it's thrown and see how the opposition like it. Can't be called as a foul if it's within the metre.
The truth is that rugby is in a really good place competition wise. Any of the top 4 teams can beat each other on any given test (the RWC was proof of that when IRE beat SA and FRA beat NZL vice versa). People need to stop being drama queens about Ireland losing narrowly 3-4 times to quality oppositions. We're not saying the same about NZL losing to SA twice or Arg. Nor SA losing to ARG and IRE at home.
We had 'hands for tits' in that game. We couldnt string together more than 3 phases without making a handling error or getting turned over. Disappointed we didnt change tactics and kick for the corners and try to grind out the win. I know we have a fairly new outhalf (11th start at international level) so i hope he learns that when team tactics are not working that he has to have the balls to switch it up
At least the Irish fans took it on the chin, unlike some of the All Blacks fans after the Irish game in Dunedin last year. Abusing travelling Irish supporters a lot of them elderly supporters too.
@ that from a mick? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 goodey and Jim were spot on. The Irish constantly cheat at the breakdown, until they get nailed early on, then they’re fucked. Remember that idiot prop being pulled off after 25 minutes in the quarters last year? Ref did his homework, warned them before the match, they didn’t listen. Choked. Out at the quarters. Call me all the names you like, but it’s rare that ireland win without cheating.
Ireland seem to run onto the field, expecting already that they will win if they simply apply what they prepared and apply their systems (and maybe because they continue to be so convinced that they are "...the Best team in the World..."). By comparison, other Top teams - especially All Blacks, Boks, France, Argentina, Scotland - always run onto the field, knowing that they need to respect and overcome their immediate opposition - and that they are only as good as the game that they are about to play... Ireland do about everything as good as anyone, but they just do not seem to have that collective killer attitude culture, to not give an inch, when things get really tough and chaotic (and even when the Refs seems to be making questionable calls...).
Why did Ireland go into that game cold...? The All Blacks would have played a game against Tonga or fiji before they played a test match if it meant that much...?
SA went in cold and even though they didn't play their best Scotland who player the week before were always kept at arms length. This Ireland group have been playing together for many years now.
@@kevinpillay6103 No disrespect to Scotland but they weren't looking for revenge after the quarter final exit at the world cup or defending a 19 game winning streak at home.
Personally I reckon 2 years from now Ireland will be a shadow of their former selves. There doesn't appear to be any new blood on a large scale been brought into the team. Guys are nearing their 40's Where are the young stars? There has been a lot of talk of underestimating the opponent in this autumn Nations series. I think it would do Ireland well to definitely not underestimate the Argentinians. They are coming!!!!
0:40 point blank !!!! Point blank Leinster and Ireland get away with murder at the breakdown and when the referee blows it like in the Champions Cup against Toulouse - they’ll end up losing.
I think it's high time now for tue whole of England to BIN the "swing low sweet chariot ' song permanently.....please as its actually spurs on the oposition rather than their own team.
If ireland truly want to be number one they have to not accept performances like that and drop the older players and bring in the new guys some I think are over the hill. also i think they should lower the price of tickets cause the matches now are just filled with bunch posh boys who don't care about making atmosphere. They need to kick the older players off the team. They need to gut the team of the older guys and start over
S A and NZ are still streets ahead of the rest of us, Australia have started to show what they are capable of, inconsistent referees need to be sorted,
The ref turned a blind eye on the A.B. encroaching in the line out, no 1. The better team won on the night, half the Irish team did not turn up simple. So you loose what could the outcome be, only lose and lose well. lets look to the next game and see what happens? Then we will see if we need new blood and fast!
IRFU need to re-invest all this cash into the grass roots game Develop the club side of the game more Private Schools conditions far outweigh most clubs ,so the divide and the casting aside of so many potential club players is once again very concerning
Ya Kiwis want to beat the French, only team that beat them during the World Cup and historically their most competitive side from the north. I bet quite a few of the lads take it personally that Dupont is called the greatest rugby player of their generation too. Sky NZ had some great productions before the Ireland game to get people excited for an away game to wake up early for, they will do so again for the French.
A born and bred South African here. I would firstly like to apologize,.... to absolutely no one! Because the back to back world cup winners does what the F they like!!!
For all their errors, they only lost by 10. NZ only got a single try as did Ireland. 18 nz points were from pens. I think Ireland can be happy with the score. It says alot about how good they are that even on a woeful day they kept the score from increasing even more. 10 yrs ago this would have ended 50-13
Imagine Ireland being a powerhouse for decades. We wouldn't hear the end of it. Get a grip Irish rugby public, have some humility. Credit the other team too. Ireland weren't poor, they played a better team on the day.
game was too late in the eve. most lads would have got outta work on friday straight to the boozer and then to the game after 2+ hours on the sauce. That said, it was great as a dad to young kids at home. everyone fed and watered by 7. Kids in bed. few beers in the fridge and all set for a good night of sports.
@Steph-we8jg the issue wasn't whether they were 'up' or not. The issue was sharpness and mistakes. It's obvious a side with 8 games under their belt will do better than a side with none
Ok the worst performance in 10yrs,Nothing went right for Ireland,Now we'll see how they respond against Argentina,There wasent the will to win in Ireland,There was in new Zealand.Conor Murray,35,Peter o Mahony 35,Kian Healy 35,great players 5yrs ago All ,but time catches everyone .DO THEY GO OR HAVE THEY TO BE PUSHED . There's nothing wrong with ireland...its the autumn internationals...there's no title/cup etc its a chance to try new things new players and be prepared for hopefully 3 in a row 6 nations titles. If we were talking about the boks we'd all be praising rassie for trying new things and rotation of squads etc yawn...between world cups because thats what they crave for more than anything else. Irelands rugby history goes back to wanting to win 5/6 nations titles on a regular basis.
The UK has a lot rugby podcasts talking up their rugby which has largely off the back off Ireland's last few years of success and batch of average teams ranked about 6th or 7th.
I think Ireland are just not as good as what everyone thinks they are. They had a terrible game but that was because the All Black's put them under immense pressure. Everyone focus on Ireland playing badly but no one is giving the ABs any props for working out how to beat Ireland... The All Black's are much much better t has the North is Giving them credit.
@@Profreegolfer nah that was more about Ireland not managing the simply stuff that the AB’s did. All that procession and the AB’s came away with one reasonably late try. You can be happy with the result but I would lose the run of yourself with the performance.

Nz already know how to beat Ireland lol they have done it many times before 😂 they are just concentrating on their own game slowly rebuilding they got a boring win but we’ll take it for now FK IT this time next year will be better
Ireland had a bad day and office, one bad game and everyone jumping on the band wagon writing them off , its hilarious. One thing I've learned after the 1st round of autumn internals is that all the southern hemisphere teams definitely are not humble in victory but that's ok , let's see what's happens this weeks , que all the excuses from the Southern hemisphere teams
Ireland has an off game. Every top team does. Irelands beaten all the best teams in world rugby multiple times over the last 8 years. So they’re not a fluke team. They have the depth & character to bounce back. They always do. People (SA & NZ fans) love to jump on the bandwagon when Ireland lose because they know that Ireland are fierce rivals of theirs and don’t fear them in any shape or form now. People (NZ fans) are quick to forget that Ireland were 2 nil winners in their home patch not too long ago. It was also Irelands first game back since the summer so they’re clearly just rusty. Whilst NZ have had a full rugby championship ship campaign plus Japan & England under their belt. That’s over 10 games. They’re dealing with injuries too. Sheehan & Furlong, arguably the best hooker & tighthead in world rugby currently out. Conan & O’Brien too. A couple of changes to freshen up the team against Argentina. Beirne is without a doubt better in the 2nd row than at blindside flanker. Henshaw, McCloskey or Osborne to be brought in at centre, PO’M to come back in to the starting side. Frawley to start.
That paragraph was a good cope (wallabies fan) nz just out played you guys watch squidge rugbys analysis then you’ll understand the ABs made you guys play like that
@ Having watched his video and understand his analysis, I conclude that NZ really weren’t that good considering Ireland had a shocker (by their standards). Irelands defence was incredible the entire game. Their attack the opposite. Something in which they have pride themselves on in recent years. They have variations in their structure (in attack) that Nz seem to figured out. (Not all the time) though as Ireland were the first to score through a very clever try in that system. And in other instances…. We could be analysing this game for the rest of time but because Nz who came into the game extremely sharp just about beat an Ireland team who haven’t played for months, factor in, a dreary, dark autumn international window where nothing is at stack, then there’s really no need. Like I said, in my initial statement. Ireland, with more game time, cohesion and time will be back to their usual destructive, innovative self. As the team we all know they are to be. @@harryocallaghan8082 NZ were average, you should be concerned they only needed to be average in order to win comfortably. All teams go through rises & falls, it is as inevitable as the tide. There has been no innovation from AF, no rotation, no depth built, a team has only 1 peak and with Irelands age profile their peak was 2 or 3 years ago.
correct me if i’m wrong but didnt the allblacks knock (world number 1) ireland out of the world cup, then go onto destroy their 19 game home winning streak? the allblacks now own ireland
@steph333-w6u ireland are small rugby nation. We don't have the depth to be always on it 100%. Neither do we worry who is world no 1. Rugby is our 3rd or 4th ball sport. We have to pick and choose our battles. The Autumn internationals this year is not critical. More important is to blood a few new players especially in the front row and give our new outhalves a chance to play against the best so we can see who can cope.
Lads you podcast has become boring g the lad from world rugby actually put me to sleep!!! The Scot you have on has past his sell by date, even tindells pod cast is more entertaining, but the rugby pod is great when falling asleep is an issue, get it together old rugby stories only get you so far, loose the Scot he just come across as an uneducated second rate player with the very odd funny story
Atmosphere is crap because most public can't get sniff of ticket, it's a corporate washout
Everyone says that, but the old club heads just want to sit in silence and watch the match, complain about "football style" supporters, and clap for small things...
It was as quiet as a library.
@macsey5448 of course it was, the product on display was dogshit
It was crap because the reff had the whistle in his mouth all game

Never compete with the ABs if you play like that.
Henderson and O’Mahony lacked punch when they came on.
hes ok against SA
@@Mr.Mxyzptlk-xc7ve Nothing lost in November. Would like to see Andy starting to filter in some new players with the World Cup in mind and let’s face it, O’Mahony and Henderson ain’t making that despite them being wonderful servants to Irish rugby.
Spot on, lads like izzy and baird need to be given a chance at 6. Both can create moments of magic out of nothing which is seriously lacking in the rest of the team
O'Mahony looked like a shitier O'Mahony
@@DannyBrah272lol give the guy a break. He’s a bit older now. I think what we are seeing is how Leinster domination may not be good for Ireland to get to the very top. Peak Ireland had stars from Munster and Ulster too.
Ridiculous ticket prices will damage rugby. Imagine an average guy trying to take his teenage son and a mate to a game- he’d be looking at €500 for tickets and a drink or two at the ground let alone buying any merch or tat. Chuck in parking and travel or a hotel and suddenly it’s pushing a grand. Utter madness.
agree, greed will kill the game
Wow, that's crazy. In nz, not even half of that.
We were just really poor. Best team won.
We’ve come along way that our worst performance in years had us that close to an ABs team.
No need to throw the baby out with the bath water, Ireland had an off game it happens.
Although Frawley did have a nightmare of massive proportions.
Seems to be happening a lot 😮😮
To be the best you have to play like losing would kill you. Ireland had no desperation.

We will learn a lot on next two games ...if they lose both ...it's over.

Besides the rivalry, I'm actually delighted for Razor, he comes across a great bloke
A far more competent coach than Ian Foster.
@@OscarOSullivan.Foster got them to a world cup final. I have high hopes for Razor, but his record with the ABs is still to be proved.
The rivalry is really an Irish invention that’s little more than self aggrandisement. Every tier one team is a big deal for the AB’s to play, it’s just the Irish acting like victimhood addicted twattazoids for the last few years has made the desire to beat them feel like a more important task.
@@struck2soon Fozzie has Jason Ryan and Joe Shmidt to thank for that

Joe Schmidt built that team - faz got the back end of the hard work now he’s got his real work cut out for him coaching
I mean it was a let down
@@Lochvey nah mate I beg to differ
I don’t think you saw early 2010’s Ireland.

Irelands attack is aki
@ if you had not seen any other Irish game, you’d be excused for believing that. We attack more through our forwards than most teams.
Hopefully we learn from this
@ True! Ain’t no speedsters in Ireland and it’s the second time we have so abjectly failed to go to a plan B or recognise the need for it.
Can't remember the last time we did something like that
Missing Mike Catt (rather than Sexton)?
I do think we need to rethink our bench though. Some young guns on there, mixed with experience.

Ireland had a bad day, that’s it. They were rusty, the conditions didn’t suit them and they came up against a good AB side.

It was also GREAT for Rieko Ioane to LEAD THE HAKA AS WELL(this was due to Johnny Sexton's book after last years' QF loss from Ireland to the ALL BLACKS).
the same happened at the english game
Ireland are missing sexton big time. Goodey is talking about Irelands brilliant 1322 shape, which gives so many options and asks defenses to make decisions. This only really works when sexton was taking it to the heat and making passes right on the line.
It's hard to make those passes when you have two hands on the zimmer frame....
1st choice abs 10 Barrett didn’t play hello
Things are so bad they are considering players outside of Leinster.
As a kiwi I loved the game
ABs Closing the gap was the issue and not getting penalised
The truth is that rugby is in a really good place competition wise. Any of the top 4 teams can beat each other on any given test (the RWC was proof of that when IRE beat SA and FRA beat NZL vice versa).
People need to stop being drama queens about Ireland losing narrowly 3-4 times to quality oppositions. We're not saying the same about NZL losing to SA twice or Arg. Nor SA losing to ARG and IRE at home.
Guys it's one game and the last game we beat South Africa so let's just chill for a bit yet.
50sec on point, been saying it for years that Ireland get away with cheating at the breakdown.
When ireland have a ref who’s done his homework on them cheating at the breakdown, they can’t play. That’s what happened.
Plenty of rugby ignorance throughout comments here..But you win the title for The Most Ignorant 😂😂

Point blank
Leinster and Ireland get away with murder at the breakdown and when the referee blows it like in the Champions Cup against Toulouse - they’ll end up losing.
They need to gut the team of the older guys and start over
It was a pitiful performance honestly a men’s social team could do better than that Ireland team.
They were beaten by the better team.......again.
IRFU need to re-invest all this cash into the grass roots game
Develop the club side of the game more
Private Schools conditions far outweigh most clubs ,so the divide and the casting aside of so many potential club players is once again very concerning
3 loses in 5 matches for Ireland, testing times for the team but I'm sure they will bounce back vs Argentina
The truth is Ireland have an issue at 10
lineout coach
Crowley is good enough
Sexton was more of a qb he ran those pods around the Centre of pitch that really broke teams down, Crowley ain't got that ability yet anyway
@@28copland He's 24 and has been given less than a year of internationals starting. He needs time. So does Frawley.
tbf it was 60 quid for the whole family in Cardiff and its the flattest ive ever witnessed.
Really? The Welsh like us Irish love to sing, what’s going on?
Ireland play better in dry conditions. Plus they were having the first game of season
Um it's the All Blacks in dry conditions they'd have buried to them
Them not to them
What happened to Ireland having all the talent ay Jim ??
Its almost as if one nation was playing its 9th game in three months, and the other were playing their first.
10th !
No excuses at the top. Experienced players should know how to get themselves up for a big game.
@Steph-we8jg the issue wasn't whether they were 'up' or not. The issue was sharpness and mistakes. It's obvious a side with 8 games under their belt will do better than a side with none
The truth is Ireland’s players are quickly falling over the cliff edge. I’m sure there is a continuation plan ready to go. Please start it asap!
Its just a case of NZ having a really good game and irela have a crap night full of errors. You cant be 100% all the time. That's rugby for you!
'Go home ......having beaten England and Ireland ' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 good one
🇿🇦🇳🇿🇦🇺🇦🇷🇫🇯🍻🍻🍻
Let's see what happens this week 😅
You have a lot of flags floating, who are you?? 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣
It's on Doris to tell his team to be cuter at ruck time, 14 penalties ffs
I have been dreading The departure of Mike Catt. Andrew Goodman is a fraud. He ruined Leinster.
UNFORTUNATELY THERES NO ROOM FOR SENTIMENT AT THE HEIGHEST LEVEL.
Northern Hemisphere teams will choke in the biggest moments! This will never change. Please stop calling any Northern Hemisphere players and Teams best in the World. Best in the world means your always clutch in critical situations and the only players and teams that are clutch more often than not are the Southern Hemisphere teams and players!
They thought it was a World Cup quarter final.
Troll along……..
Leinster get away with it in urc
Troll on ……..
Dude you can't just turn around and say they're not as good as everyone thought they were. You obviously haven't been watching them for the past few years
Nz already know how to beat Ireland lol they have done it many times before 😂 they are just concentrating on their own game slowly rebuilding they got a boring win but we’ll take it for now FK IT this time next year will be better
If you think that, then you’re not listening , fact is Ireland have now lost 3 times in 2024 but so have the ABs.
Northern Hemisphere teams are boring and uninteresting.
Its game 1 of the season FFS
🍻
Being delusional really doesn't help your team😂
Ireland are an ageing team now on the decline. Won't get past the quarters in 2027 as per usual 😂
Onwards & upwards! 🇮🇪☘️💪🏻
@@harryocallaghan8082nope Argentina could definitely beat you or give you a hell of a fight.
correct me if i’m wrong but didnt the allblacks knock (world number 1) ireland out of the world cup, then go onto destroy their 19 game home winning streak? the allblacks now own ireland
It's just one game 😂
OMG, it has taken me an age to get to the end of these comments, and yours is it and also so right. 🤣🤣
Set piece is a problem, the should have walked away from lineouts NZ clearly closing the gap. I do think the referee was bad. But NZ deserved to win .
As a neutral, slightly off and not helped by some poor refereeing
Look, ireland were simply rusty plus All Blacks had plenty of matches in the run up to this game so they were sharper and more battle hardened.
Smarter more accurate and more focused. No1 teams don't have excuses you turn up undercooked or not.Especially with all that experience
