I am glad you chose this campaign, so nice to see an Elven faction played once again. Now, of terms of strategy, I think you need first to consolidate your power in Eregion by taking Annon-en-Orrod, which is a Castle and it will help you shielding your capital from attacks from the north. To fully occupy the realm of Eregion, you also want Bruinost and Imladris - especially if the Goblins manage to claim it, opportunity for you. If it happens, we'll see. In your west, I think that you can send a Captain stack agaist the rebel army near Undertowers, so if you get a Man of the Hour, you can let this as the governor of the Undertowers and Ciryatan returns to Ost-en-Noldor. These for now, as it is only the first episode. And now, can we have a Noldor campaign without my story? NEVER! So, here we have the very first episode: Aragorn was much surprised as a messenger came in to speak to him. A force of old, he said, came out of the time and resettled to its realm of old and challenged the Goblins of Moria. It was the Noldor of Eregion, under the Star of Feanor. "But how this can be possible?", he asked. "I thought that all of the Elf Kings are out of question. And I always knew that the Sons of Feanor are dead, as Celebrimbor was the last". "Well", the messenger said, "I simply bring the news. Though another thing is that Elladan wants to visit you for this exact reason". "Of course I'll hear my brother", Aragorn said. "Is he close?". Elladan then came in. Aragorn always had very good relationships with the twin sons of Elrond, as they had fought in the long years side by side. However, Elladan was very serious andhe did not give away his sentiments - and Aragorn knew very well the brother of his wife Arwen, knowing that the situation was important. "Mae govannen, brother", Aragorn greeted him officially. "It's a good day to have you here". Elladan made the greeting move of the Elfs, raising his hand in the heart and with a cyclic move to the right opening the palm. But the fact that he didn't speak got the sentiment that something serious was going on. The messenger left with a nod of Aragorn. "Brother", Elladan said after a long silence. "Our father Lord Elrond sends his greetings". "It has to be very serious", Aragorn said. "Get in the subject immediately, brother". "You have heard the rumours", Elladan started. He even participating in the Three Kinslayings and he managed to evade Morgoth's forces, as he was with Gil-Galad in the Havens and later in the isle of Balar. He even fought against the Sons of Feanor in the third Kinslaying. But after the destruction of Eregion, some of the people of Feanor stayed with Elrond, but others prefered to follow Maelnir - and now they have returned. Melnir has two sons, Ecthellion and Cityatan. So, the line of the Sons of Feanor continues". "I have full knowledge of the complex history of the Elven factions", Aragorn said. "I cannot see anything good from this story". "We'll see", Elladan said. "Don't be hasty, as Maelnir - remember, he has to be called High Prince Maelnir - is now an ally of us. Time will show whether he will try to challenge our father for the leadership of all the Elfs. Even Lady Galadriel says exactly this, and you know how stingy she can be". "Of course", Aragorn said. "Does he have the right? I mean, his claim, should it arise, how strong is it?". "Extremely strong", Elladan said with a strange expression. "In fact, as our father has a noble origin from the Elven part, his origin from Earendil, who is considered a Human, does have an impact for the Elfs. That's why he became second after Gil-Galad, taking also into account the fact that he was also older than Elrond. But now, with the current situation, if anyone has the right to become the High King of the Noldor, it is Maelnir and him only". "That makes the situation very difficult", Aragorn confessed after a long thought. "And it can become more complex...". "So", Elladan concluded, "guard your position. "From what I see", Elladan said, "the Oath has to do with the Silmaril. Now that the Silmarils are lost forever, I doubt if they will seek them. Remember that even Celebrimbor himself didn't mention them in the Second Era". "We are not sure for this", Arwen said. "The Oath was one of the reasons why Celebrimbor rebelled against Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel when they were in charge of Eregion". "Sister", Elladan said, "I cannot say that Morgoth's lies didn't play their role. However, the true reason for Sauron's machinations was to find someone willing to make the Rings of Power, and Celebrimbor was the perfect one. This story has closed now, as we both know". "Neither", Arwen's voice was steady. "There were three Ringmakers, as three were the Elven Rings. We know the two of them died in the fight for Eregion. The third is still alive". "How this can be possible, sister?", Elladan could barely speak from the surprise. "Wasn't Celebrimbor the one who was the lone maker?". "Brother", Arwen was very critique now. "How have you forgotten Artanis? Is it because she was a woman?". Elladan preferred not to speak, as he knew how sensitive Arwen was in such subjects". "She had a son, Dornornoston", Arwen continued. "He has inherited the skill of her mother. But I talk about the other one, the Black Dragon. And if you know his story, then the situation is much more complex than what you think". Elladan moved his head once up and once down. He knew well that Ancalagon the Black was a smith of so great of skill, that he had made a significant name of himself. He was also one of the veterans that fought Sauron with great discipline, as he was one of the companions of Elrond at the founding of Imladris. He had participated in the Battle of the Last Alliance and he had many notable achievements of his own. It was said that the name of the black dragon of Morgoth was given to him by his mother in contrast to every Elf around her, but he was really a dark man, with black hair, black eyes and he dressed always in black or dark grey. The Elfs, both Noldor and Sindar, even the Avari, knew of his as a very skilled smith, with very few words. "Don't forget the most important", Arwen said. "He is the writer of the book that Elrond often reads in his library: Parva Ulairon, the History of the Nazgul. You also know it. And now, tell me brother, how could it be possible to write about the Nazgul if he hasn't made a thorough search about them? And how could he find the knowledge of such things, to discover their history, names personnality and how their nature was changed, if he was not one of the Ringmakers?". Elladan simply stayed silent. "You know where he is now?", he asked. "Perhaps we could contact him". "There's no way", she answered. "As you know, he left Imladris long ago for a journey of his own. I still have no clue of his traces - but I surely know that his wife is with him. And his daughter is in Eregion". "Wife and daughter?", Elladan said. "I never thought he had a family". "Well, you'll meet Nerdanel in due time, I think", Arwen said. "But in order to have a daughter, somebody has to be her mother, right? She is Areiniel". The Sindarin (I think) name for the fenland near Tharbad is 'Nîn-in-Eilph'. If you get the city, that could work, or a derivation of it, like 'Ost-in-Eilph', since 'Ost' actually means 'wall' or 'bulwark', and effectively means a walled city or fortress. Or is that Quenya? I learned them both but at the same time so I get very confused. 'Caras-Eilph' works in old Sindaran, I know that, which means 'City-Eilph'. Specifically an above-ground city; that's what Caras means. The Noldor differentiated between underground and above ground cities. Maybe 'Eilph O Chobas'; essentially the 'Harbour of Tharbad'.
I don't know if it's the same in this version, but I remember when I played this campaign in the old version Ost en Noldor (Buzra Dum) was a better capital because it has high corruption if it isn't the capital. When you make it the capital you make a lot more money in mining because it ignores the corruption. You can always switch it back once you conquer more of Eregion.
Not what I'd voted for, but still excited (as always) for the start of a new campaign. Watching your series - and Ligizd's ones too - finally convinced me to try my hand at DaC. I'm doing an Ered Luin campaign, which seemed to be a good place to start. Thanks for continuing to make this great content and I'm sure I'll be watching it through to the end, come what may!

Phenomenal intro yet again. Really excited about this campaign as I've played this mod a lot recently. Good luck!! You'll need it. AND MONEY.... you'll need that too. The top tier artist hall brings in a fair amount... farms you'll need early too as your pop grows so slowly. Ost-in-Edhil can become really rich, however. It's pumping out over 16k in my campaing (late game though) - and keep whatisface in Ost-en-Noldor because he's a good administrator. Watch out for Bree going evil. Find Saruman and kill his army quickly to end it. BTW - You can buy Rivendell off the HE for about 50k And pick up any Sons of the Fallen you can. You'll need them in the early game... ALOT
@@IzzyTotalWar I also forgot to mention that you can get free upkeep on all your generals except the 3 starting ones (and Dornornoston, when you get him) so it's worth recruiting them asap to garrison your settlements. You just the need the lowest tier of Hall (Hall of Song I think). One general can defend Bruinost, for example against 3 goblin units quite easily, especially the way you play.
The fact that you had to abandon that hill made me suffer, but in the end, it's like in the great stories, Mr. Izzy: you trample the orc bands with heavy cav and the shadow will go away.
*sticks fingers in his ears and goes 'lalalalalala' through the fanfic history* :P Yeah, you really have to rely on morale victories against the gobboes. Even snaga can chip away at your manpower, if they stay on the field long enough.
Not certain, but I think Wargs are technically reskinned camels (or at least they used to be, been a while since ive played) which is how they have a hidden bonus on against your cav. Excited to see the new series!!

Phenomenal intro yet again. Really excited about this campaign as I've played this mod a lot recently. Good luck!! You'll need it. AND MONEY.... you'll need that too. The top tier artist hall brings in a fair amount... farms you'll need early too as your pop grows so slowly. Ost-in-Edhil can become really rich, however. It's pumping out over 16k in my campaing (late game though) - and keep whatisface in Ost-en-Noldor because he's a good administrator. Watch out for Bree going evil. Find Saruman and kill his army quickly to end it.
BTW - You can buy Rivendell off the HE for about 50k
And pick up any Sons of the Fallen you can. You'll need them in the early game... ALOT

@@IzzyTotalWar I also forgot to mention that you can get free upkeep on all your generals except the 3 starting ones (and Dornornoston, when you get him) so it's worth recruiting them asap to garrison your settlements. You just the need the lowest tier of Hall (Hall of Song I think). One general can defend Bruinost, for example against 3 goblin units quite easily, especially the way you play.

The fact that you had to abandon that hill made me suffer, but in the end, it's like in the great stories, Mr. Izzy: you trample the orc bands with heavy cav and the shadow will go away.

Yeah, you really have to rely on morale victories against the gobboes. Even snaga can chip away at your manpower, if they stay on the field long enough.
