Hi Gary - the stream is looking very impressive now, and the quarry idea is going to look really good when completed. I very much like your dry stone walls as well with the rocks dropping off - very realistic. Some excellent modelling skills going on there, very inspiring! Thanks for update us all. I'm going to try that dry brushing technique on my viaduct. Regards Steve
Hi Steve, really appreciate you leaving a comment and great feedback 😊 Good luck with painting your viaduct the most important thing I found was the less paint in the brush the better and just keep going over and over again building up the coats. In hindsight I would not have put as heavy colours on at the start but it turned out ok. Cheers Gary
Greetings SC68 and hello Gary 👋 Beautiful work on the Viaduct 😍 it really is turning into a signature for the layout 😇 really looking forward to seeing the foliage bedding it into the landscape, the effect will be stunning 😍 Great to see the Growler win some cash 😁 he's still in shock from the whole Blue Pullman story 😱🤣🤣🤣🤣 Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘️
Hi Paul of Wickford ☘️ thank you and agree it is turning into the main focal point on the layout especially for photos and running videos or at least until my station is finished but got to start it first!🤣 I think that end of the layout including the quarry will be my focus first before moving down the line! Yes and congrats to Euan 😉Cheers Gary
Nice update Gary, Nice technique with the painting of the viaduct, it really is coming together nicely. Congratulations to the winners of the give away. Great choice of locos Gary as soon as I saw the 4mt I knew it was the NYMR 😀. So in time will we be seeing some more weathered wagons? those Dogfish certainly need a little touching up 😁. All the best Tony.
Hi Tony, thanks for the feedback, yes the viaduct I’m happy with but lots still to do but I am looking forward to it being finished! The locos are both great runners and look good on Westmorland! Yes Iots of weathering to do yo rolling stock but it’s down on the priority list, concentrating on the layout for the foreseeable future but may give these two a go as look particularly clean 😂 Cheers Gary
Hi Ian, thanks and yes I like the fallen dry stone walls, the one I did on tunnel top looked good so decided to do a few more 😉 The next video should be packed with scenic work static grass, walls, finishing the stream, tufts ……..and more! Cheers Gary
Lots of progress on several fronts Gary! The viaduct area with the stream behind is looking rather impressive! Love that you're modelling the fallen down dry stone wall! Those Dapol Dogfish wagons are excellent runners and great quality for the price! Looking forward to watching the next update already! All the best, Ian.
Hi Ian, thanks for your feedback and yes really enjoying doing the viaduct scene! I’m pleased with the dogfish wagons but got a bit of catching up to you I think you’ve bought up the UKs stock 😂 I hoping the next video will finish off the scene and really looking forward to doing it!! Cheers Gary
@@SC68 - Haha! Yes, those Dogfish wagons go in and out of stock on a fairly regular basis! I don't have any of the black ones... yet, but they're on my list of must haves! :)
I can’t believe it I just missed out on a prize, it just clicked over at the last second🤦🏻♂🤷🏻♂😂. Hi Gary, hope you’re well, good update and worth waiting for, the viaduct looks really good and a good painting technique too. I do like them Graham Farish packs of wagons, I have a couple myself and they are weathered really well. Couple of nice loco’s to, it’s a nice thing to do with Christmas and Birthday money rather than blow it on beer🤔😂 Looking forward to the next update mate, cheers for now, John
Hi John, thanks for the feedback, yes I’m good thanks but immensely busy with work at moment so it’s frustrating I can’t get on the layout as much as I’d like as it’s so enjoyable. Really pleased with the purchases and looking forward to the next phase of the viaduct scene!! The beer 🍺 may make a comeback in the next video 😂 Cheers Gary
Fantastic modelling Gary - viaduct looking superb and fits into its surroundings really well even before the grasses etc go on. Lovely looking locos especially the 8f. Just saw I'm a winner of the 1K subscriber - thank you.
Hi Euan, congratulations on the competition win! Thanks for the kind words in the viaduct snd looking forward to finishing of the scenery in this area and the quarry! Cheers Gary
Hi Gary - Love those two Dogfish ballast wagons, they may be on my birthday list now. Those cattle wagons are very detailed and look smashing. Layouts looking great Gary.
Hi Chris, thanks for the feedback on the layout 😊 yes dogfish wagons are very detailed but I’ve not got as many as Ian at Ian’s N Gauge, I think he’s finished off uk stocks!!! Yes cattle wagons are well weathered one just got to bring all my other wagons up to the same standards!! Cheers Gary
All looking great Gary. I liked the painting effect on the brickwork and good to see you have moved that point that gives access to the quarry. The 8F and the 4MT are both lovely models and looked quite at home around Westmorland. Stephen
Hi Stephen, thank you 😊 yes pleased with the viaduct panting just a few more details and finishing off the underside. Yes both really nice locos with great slow running control! Cheers Gary
Most enjoyable Gary, the viaduct looks brilliant, great job on the cladding and especially the painting. The new Farish 8F looks especially good. All the best
Hi Chris, thanks for leaving a comment and yes I’m pleased with how the viaduct turned out and the 8F is a great loco and runs really well! Cheers Gary
Hi Gary, Great work on the layout! The effect you have achieved on the viaduct is fantastic. Living in a part of Wales where there are several abandoned railway viaducts nearby and very similar scenery, the realism is spot on! I love your layout!
Hi really appreciate your feedback and kind words! Always nice to hear that people like what your going 😊 I am really looking forward to the next stage of the viaduct scene it should make it all pop! Cheers Gary
As ever, Gary, another fascinating video which takes us a step closer to seeing the finished product. The 8F will look so good travelling round the layout and I am sure that the 4MT will get its fair share of runs, too. Your modelling skills are excellent, well done. Regards, Eric.
Hi Eric, great feedback thank you 😊 yes the 8F is a great loco with nice control! The 4MT is also a nice loco and will get lots of goods traffic running! Cheers Gary
Hi thanks for leaving a comment, the viaduct started life as a Metcalfe card kit. I then cladded the viaduct in Slaters stone plasticard before painting. Hope this answers your question. Cheers Gary
Super video 👍👍🎥👌, nice train 🛤🎥👍👍.
Greetings Gert
