      Sweden has mountains, also lots of snow even more in Norway, the Norvegian Female Marines almost wan one of the last Swiss Commando raid beating all the French and English special forces, I think Gendarmerie for the Jura was first.

    The airbag helps you stay on top of an avalanche, and hope to our great father that the airbag doesn't get punctured.🤠

  • @sarahnichols8485
    @sarahnichols8485 3 ปีที่แล้ว +47

    The airbag serves several purposes, however the primary service is during an avalanche to create both a cushion for the body and to provide space if buried by snow. This can ensure breathing space and it can help to prevent the body from being crushed. Once you are buried you can wait a bit and then deflate the airbag to give you space around your body.

      @xXSAIMANXx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      nope. the airbaig serves primarly the purpose, to stay above (on the surface) of the avalanche. Cushion is secondary. if you get stuck in the Avalanche you cant move (you are stuck like in concrete). If the airbag didnt get punctered theres no way to deflate it and by itself it takes ages. ... aand its normally filled with nitrogen ;)

  • @joelbjornstrom7291

    Tha airbag Is for an avalanche, the airbag makes It more likely that you will be on the surface of the snow. And If you get under the snow you will be easier detected and you will have some more space to breath or move.

    former swiss army officer. did you know that the british SAS does train parachute jumps (also night time) into mountain areas here in switzerland with our parachute recon guys? they come here every year. not long ago i there were also a lot of trainings with other UK troops (royal commandoes I heard, but probably really only for mountain topics). they come/came here in civil clothes doing their stuff.

    The airbag helps you if you end up in an avalanche. The airbag makes you float on top of avalanche insted of falling down in to it. Kind of a lifejacket, but insted working in water, it works in massive amount of moving snow/ice.

    The airbag is used for all of the above that you mentioned @GenDitCommando . Also, that trick of the makeshift igloo is something WAY more people need to know about. I was taught when I was snowboarding because if you're trapped it will actually keep you warmer to dig a hole into the snow like that. Especially if you pack nd seal the outer walls properly.

  • @Chaschperli
    @Chaschperli หลายเดือนก่อน

    The airbag is used if you get into an avalanche. As the volume gets heigher, the chance to keep on top of the snow is bigger than without the airbag

    British Marines used to be trained in Switzerland in Kandersteg( Bernese Oberland) same as Russian Spetznaz, for mountain rescue there are good Civilians Helicopter compagnies(usually with a doctor and a secouriste on board) such as REGA and Air Glacier,as a Para Glider, Base-Jumper or Mountaineer its good to become a Sponsor for around 40 Franks you safe a lot of money when needing a flight out for having a broken leg, helicopter replace ambulances in Switzerland.

    No such thing as a former Marine in the USA or the UK. Being a marine isn't just being a badass it's also how you carry yourself and how you treat others.
