    I have the 2013 Superb wagon and it's, well...superb. Pricey to maintain though and some electrical gremlins from time to time but none of them deal-breakers. I purchased it new with a 3-4 year expectation and sorry to say it, I won't be stumping up for the new one for one very simple reason. I love the one I have. Highly recommended.

      Skoda Auto is thinking about exporting to the US, and possibly going to happen during this one or the next year.

    no way man, 12.7L per 100k?That was way too much for a 2L turbo! Even my 2014 sv6 commodore wagon got around 11 under city driving condition and i drive it pretty violently after work!

    • @patrickhernandez9529
      @patrickhernandez9529 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I owned a VF SV6 wagon and there’s no way it was achieving around 11 with city driving. I averaged 12-13 in suburbia.

    Saw one of these cars for the first time, parked outside my house today. A real eye catcher. I have a 2016 Subaru Outback (love) but if I were in the market, I'd be eyeballing the 206 wagon. If they were under 50k (drive away), I'd be tempted to go car shopping.

    Not that it's a bad thing.

      @davidschle.180 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It shares the same modular platform (assembled differently thats why it is called modular) and engine manufacturer as Passat and all concern cars. It isn't uncommon even for cars with completely different manufacturers from 2 different continents to share a platform and a same engine manufacturer.

    12.7L/100km is horrible for a 2.0 turbo petrol. I get 12.4L/100km in a 2004 Accord V6 doing city driving only.

    • @WDKNGBigDips
      @WDKNGBigDips 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +myvolvoforlife 3 seconds quicker 0-100 (or more practically speaking, substantially more performance everywhere in the rev range) for 0.3L/100km more fuel? seems like a fair trade off.

    • @myvolvoforlife
      @myvolvoforlife 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dipra Bhattacharjee my little old Honda isn't that slow, more like 2 seconds slower to 100 than the Skoda :) I agree that the 2.0TSI will provide more performance and fun in daily driving and yes I wouldn't mind paying for the extra fuel useage, but with this whole concept of downsizing, I would have expected better fuel economy.

    • @WDKNGBigDips
      @WDKNGBigDips 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      fair point actually. I suppose caradvice's fuel use figure reflects that they probably drove the car pretty hard at times, and probably isnt exactly line ball with day-to-day city driving

      @davidschle.180 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a 2016 test of some 4x4 passat and skoda 2.0 LK where reviewers rode the cars several hundreds of kms to Croatia and results for cars were 6.5 and 6.4/100km

    Why it is so expensive in Australia LOL😂😂

    • @1969cmp
      @1969cmp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      €40k plus in Europe and factor in exchange rate and the cost of carting the sucker accross the planet, and that seems to be about right.
      Pretty much the same reason why the Subaru Liberty seems expensive in Europe, the freight.

    • @MadAlbo
      @MadAlbo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL theres no Subaru Liberty in Europe

    • @1969cmp
      @1969cmp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +BigHomieIllyrianChopper Liberty/Legacy and if you want a Liberty with higher ground clearance, it is called the Outback which is why the first Outback was referred to as the 'Liberty Outback'.
      So Outback, Liberty, Legacy, same thing and the Outback is in the UK at least.

    • @spikechurchill7478
      @spikechurchill7478 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Holden commodore SS V wagon 6 speed manual is the ultimate D4D W460N with ample boot space and size not to mention power and a roaring engine RIP
    Too bad clutch shifting will soon be extinct and replaced with tiptronic 🤦🏽‍♂️
    The future is becoming more and more computerised with technology evolving continuously where soon we will rely on a computer to drive our cars rather than ourselves. Me personally I don't trust any one let alone a computer to drive for me.

      Yes it does and Apple as well either by Bluetooth or tether or for streaming you can have a local VPN in vehicle. Movies TV and a HDD of 64GB also. Music can be stored on a large SD card. I have the diesel and return 20klm/ liter at 110km /hour. It continues to surprise me and the badge snobs who get a reminder that they paid too much. . Skoda - simply astounding. Go drive one, you will get out with a smile and new respect

      That Skoda is pretty much a better option than many of the other European brands. And basically it is a Passat with Audi bits and pieces and engineering quality.

    • @dougdellit
      @dougdellit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      This is one seriously great car with an excellent build quality. They rate these very highly in Europe (I lived there last year), easily as good as VW build quality.
      For $60k this car blows away all competitors! I'm going to order one :).

    Yeah, but you forgot to mention all the cheap interior and other corner-cutting. And the fact that the car has no soul :P

    • @skywalknotpossible
      @skywalknotpossible 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      +AoyagiAichou You have apparently never owned nor driven one. Please enlighten us what car has a soul by your opinion? (the same or very similar category and pricing)

    • @AoyagiAichou
      @AoyagiAichou 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, "apparently" I have no experience with every Skoda in existence despite the fact that I live in the Czech Republic. Perhaps it is you whose only experience is what they get from Skoda's marketing and reviews with barely any critique like this one? It certainly sounds like it.
      If I wanted to buy a cheaply built large family car, I'd go for Avensis, because while the interior fells just as cheap, it's ACTUALLY solidly built and probably won't start rattling in 2-3 years, not to mention the car is infinitely more reliable than anything VAG can come up with (largely due to the fact that is has almost nothing in it, but that's another thing). If I wanted a comfy large family car that doesn't feel as cheap as Superb or Avensis, I'd go for Citroen C5.
      But sure, if your only criteria is "perceived value for money when the car is new and has no options in it" and/or "space", Superb is probably the best bet (if you keep telling yourself (or don't mind) that Skoda isn't the corner-cut brand of VAG).

    • @wassupMannn
      @wassupMannn 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +AoyagiAichou so is writing a bullshit on Australian car reviews your hobby or what? you're from Czech Republic and yet still know absolutely shit about this car... V konečnym důsledku stejně jezdíš shnilou Felicií ty pablbe. Není ničí vina, že máš slabost pro francouzský, designově naprosto nevkusný auta.

    • @AoyagiAichou
      @AoyagiAichou 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +wassupMannn Mate, you have no idea what car(s) I drive. Just a hint: they're not European. I know! It's totally unfathomable for someone who feels the need to rush in to defend their national pride without making a single substantial argument. Come up with one if you feel the need to defend this polished turd, or be ignored and forgotten.
