This is a great video. My '05 Reno is mostly the same. This is the 'how it's made' video that I didn't realize existed until now. Thank you very much for sharing, and for showing how to do mechanic work one-handed.

Geeeeeez. practically took apart the whole car for that sucker. What lead you to determine the heater core needed to be replaced?

The car had been previously filled with head sealer. All of the hoses were either cleaned or replaced as well. Great question. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you! My dad totaled his 07 Reno that only had 70k miles and I'm currently stripping it since he has another Reno and I have one also. I could not figure out how to get the dash out. I missed those 2 bolts that are near where the steering column bolts up.

Where do the wires that are labeled 74 connect to on the colum? They come from the relays down by the floor board...I recently did my heater core and can't figure out where they go

Please tell me the name of the piece under the dash from the front passenger seat at the bottom. Mechanic replace heater core but never replace that piece. Now the car is always hot.

If the cover for the heater core is missing , I know a lot of their parts are gm , a dealer may be able to get the part. The part would be near impossible to find except from a salvage yard. My other short term suggestion might be to insulate the opening with 1/4 inch foam , kind of like carpet pad , seat padding etc. and use foil hvac tape. Hvac tape is really sticky and will never fall off . Hope this can help.

now replacing the heater core isn't fun at all. i had to take the dash off.
