Thanks for the comparison. I already have a festool ets ec 150/5 and rts 400 but really want to add the ro90 to the arsenal. Probably a very soon purchase....
I’ve been using this rotex professionally for 4 years I have beaten the shit out of it days on end sanding architraves door paneling. Festool just keeps going incredible bit of machinery. And I struggled with rsi in my hands when I was an apprentice using the 18v Makita sander when I started using the rotex I just didn’t seem to suffer as much from it.
Thanks for your feedback and your question. I designed and 3D printed it myself. I don’t use the sander without it. Contact me on info@colinklupiec.com if you’re interested in getting one.
I have the cordless Makita which at least has 3 speed swinging settings 😅. But the dust connection for it is naff. I'll have to commission you to make a suitable 3D printed shop vac fitting 😊
First to leave a comment. Thanks. Actually, I have a spare. It might fit your sander. I'd be curious to know. Contact me at info@colinklupiec.com and I'll send it to you.
The Festool MIDI. I actually like that extractor more than larger Festool extractors I've used in the past. It's got my favourite feature...th-cam.com/video/emvQ4oOh05M/w-d-xo.html
Apples and oranges comparison I'm afraid, the Fessie has geared rotation and a superior removal rate, The makky is fine for lighter sanding. Massive cost difference too.
I've got 5 doors to finish so I figured it was worth it. For detail work you can't go past the delta head attachment. It really is awesome. Thanks for leaving a comment. Have a great day. 😀
Used that Rotex for over 5 years now. Still going strong. Nothing compares for build quality and versatility. It's a pro grade monster.
Hey, thanks for the comment. It's an awesome piece of kit. 😀

The Rotex is definitely a 'nice to have' when you need it. Have a great day. 😀

It’s a great sander, for sure.
I'm actually surprised they both removed paint at the same rate! I most heard comments on how aggressive the rotex sanders are.
Yes, the Makita does a good job if the abrasive paper is fresh and you don't need to do detail work. It's louder though, and not as nice to hold.
Great video! On the makita, what red special adapter are you using ?
Cheers

Thanks. Really appreciate it.
Which dust extractor were you using?

Indeed, but it's fun to do the comparison. Overall though, I find Makita sanding equipment a bit underwhelming.
Good video thanks
Glad you found it helpful. Have a great day.
feels like the cheap tool is ok for diy but ud wanna upgrade if you're a contractor using that tool daily

Can’t beat festool , buy cheap pay twice
True that. 😀
