I remember travelling on a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki some 20 years ago, and there where inscriptions only in Estonian and Finnish languages. And while I couldn't understand a single word (I'm from Rīga, Latvia), I could see that purely through letter by letter comparison - the two texts were really, really similar, in parts - identical.. But perhaps, this might change with context.

Although I was about 6 months old back then, I listen to this and other songs from Singing revolution with tears in my eyes and proudness in my heart that has no borders. And by now I am doing the best job I can imagine - I show tourists our wonderful countries. And yes - I use "we" instead of Eesti, Latvija or Lietuva, because we are as one but in the same time with an individual character. Lithuanians are our closest relatives (that's why we sometimes argue a bit, but still love each other unconditionally) and Estonians are our soulmates (and we say you are slow because we are a bit jealous (but very happy) about your success).
