  • As above, so below; as within, so without. All things are according to the whole.
Dear Unknown Friends, in this conversation, we explore the relationship between exoteric and esoteric Christianity, emphasizing that they are inseparable. We discuss the importance of understanding the internal and external aspects of faith, through the lens of liturgy and mysticism. I reference Valentin Tomberg's works to illustrate how these concepts are intertwined and challenge the notion that Christianity is limited to mere external practice.

I read this book last year. It really helped me to make peace with the exoteric aspect of church.

Well perhaps you've finally convinced me to read Tomberg! :) amazing video as always and, I suppose, a fair critique of Nugent's video. I'm still glad that he's been moving into a more esoteric direction lately - perhaps one day you guys can do a conversation on these topics. God bless!

I think his viewers would be far too scandalized by me, so it might be best that he and I remain friendly sparse acquaintances on the internet.
As for reading Tomberg. He once wrote that he wished he could erase his Anthroposiphical works, and in the spirit of honoring him I would urge to only read from his post-conversion works. If you read Meditations on the Tarot... don't rush. It's meant to be slowly digested. Took me 2 years to read it and had to re-read some chapters. The fruits of a slow reading will be tremendous. It helped me finally stand fast in the Church and it opened up the Mass and Eucharist in ways I cannot put to words.
