    But Sav did experience racism. For a black women to say “yOu DoNt LiKe ChOcLaTE?” Is inherently racist. Black people can be racist just as much as white people can. Heck, ANY race can be racist…

      Literally came here to say this exact thing. Racism exists in all cultures.

      yes like a race doesn't need to be oppressed or experience systemic racism for someone from that race to experience someone else being racist towards them

    • @sarahloohoo2312
      @sarahloohoo2312 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      Racial discrimination and racism are two different things. From a definition standpoint point, systematic oppression does add a different layer to racial discrimination. No matter what racial discrimination is wrong regardless or who the person experiencing it is. But racism has a different impact on whites people versus not white people in a culture where white people are the dominate race. The definition of racism isn’t simply racial discrimination, there are other elements to the true definition of racism - one is not necessarily worse than the other.

    • @CleoCleans

      @@sarahloohoo2312so tired of this rhetoric. Essentially black people are too powerless to hurt others. Give us a break. Wrong is wrong.

    • @sarahloohoo2312
      @sarahloohoo2312 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@CleoCleans You said that not me. Wrong is wrong - but racism is still different from racial discrimination. Most things people label as “racist” these days actually aren’t at all, it’s just discrimination. It’s one of the most misused words and it’s turning actual racism into “boy who cried wolf” shit and it’s created a culture fed up of even hearing the word. Educate yourself on the terms you use and you would start to see the issues too.

    In 2012, my senior year of high school, I got kicked out of my house for dating a black guy. He was a better person than I was. I proudly lived with a friend until we broke up for different reasons. Only sharing because I’m in Arkansas and yall mentioned the state. There’s always good people in bad areas, but my heart goes out to those having the same experiences that I did.

    L&D nurse here! At 10:54, your placenta? If there’s any indications for it, the placenta is sent to the lab for testing. If not, you can donate it to a burn unit and it’s then used to create new skin for those in need, or it is discarded in a biohazard/medical waste bin. If you keep it, you have to sign a paper. We don’t want people planting them or burying them as they will rot and decompose and it’s not good for the environment for there to just be decomposing organs out and about that can cause disease and sickness.
    Hope that helps a little!

Also SO relatable about trying to be the chill wife but silently resenting your spouse 😂 it has def been tough with feeling like you carry the bigger burden because you’re breastfeeding so you HAVE to be up in the night, versus it being more optional for your spouse. i had a mixed baby 20 years ago with a african american man. you would not even begin to believe the hell and insane circumstances we went through. i remember being screamed at by a stranger while i was on my college campus very pregnant walking with him and they were telling me i should of had an abortion. complete strangers. once we we’re holding hands walking to dinner downtown (in a very diverse bigger mid west city) and i woman and her husband were staring us down but i didn’t know if it was in a positive or negative way…..we’d get both back then. and then she SPIT ON ME AS I WALKED BY AND SAID “n-word lover”. i was like 37 weeks pregnant just walking happily down to get dinner. smh i have hundreds of stories. i will say it’s improved a lot since the but BY FAR NOT ENOUGH!! and having a kid starting middle school at a majority white school during the first Donald trump campaign/election was so unbelievably traumatic and dangerous i had move and switch my children to different schools. the staff was equally as bad as the kids in my opinion too. it’s sad because if you don’t live in a circumstance where you as a white person has been in a relationship interracially or raised black children or had maybe black bffs then you have a fake sense of security that it’s not as bad as it really is. now like i said it’s improved over the years but by far not enough. and a huge portion of the population has literally no clue …..i see it with my own family who have lived in very all white communities and never left etc. it’s crazy. thank you so much for this episode.

      There’s a difference between the lady on the train saying that (which was very wrong) and a system oppression against a specific race and having systems put in place to stop you from thriving and being paid less at work etc. That was the point they were trying to make.
      Racism - has the ISM at the end for a reason- it’s referring to a system. The same way SexISM is referring to the systemic differences in how women are treated in the workplace etc. We are referring to systems that oppress

      @@aimsfabs6147 The definition of racism is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, or community”
      Again I will say she did and has experienced racism.
      EVERY single race has experienced racism in some form or fashion and it exists in every race.
      Black, Hispanics and Asians and many other races will be the first to say that! Me being one of them.

      this is misinformation. racism is more related to the systemic oppression of marginalized groups. it’s a mix of prejudice and discrimination on a more policy and systems level.

    Yall are lucky to have men that help you feed the baby through the night. My husband has to wake up at 5 every morning and work until 6 in the evening. We have 2 little girls and I do everything for them. He is a amazing dad don't get me wrong but he has to work. Its what works for us but hearing yall say he feeds the baby at night. You are lucky girl. We have another little girl on the way. This one is a complete surprise but i wouldn't trade it for the world. Appreciate him feeding the baby at night. Love yall

    I have mixed kids and I’m telling you they have received the hate from both sides. Black and white. They unfortunately have had situations where they were not accepted from either side. Black or White. And you might be surprised with who gave the most hate. It’s been a long road for them but they know who they are and whose they are. We most definitely just need to love the people and pray and know that we most definitely cannot change people but can hopefully be the change and teach the change. Blessings to you all. May we all support interracial relationships and not be haters! ❤❤ And I’m sayin, I absolutely love when I see a black woman dating a white man. Back in the day, that was more rare. But it’s most definitely increasing. I absolutely love all races and the children are absolutely beautiful. Love love love. Let’s do it! ❤ 💪🏽 💪🏻💪🏿

    Although I like this channel. I really do. I just cant believe how little two young couples know about labour. Even after they've given birth. Twice.
    Appreciate the talk about depression and racism talk. An Sav, you said it wasn't possible to experience racism. But you do, everytime a black person says you shouldnt be with your husband. My best friends family was horrified when she brought home a white guy. It does go both ways. Although it doesnt diminish what black people have and still experience, especially in America.

    • @megan-tl3lz
      @megan-tl3lz ปีที่แล้ว +3

      why do you think they know so little about birth??

    • @MCrvngraddip2013
      @MCrvngraddip2013 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @megan-tl3lz their lack of knowledge of the process. The placenta being saved. There's no evidence it helps at all once the baby has stopped using it. Losing blood after. Of course you are. You're shedding the lining of your uterus which built up to protect the baby. There was also a lot in other videos where they've spoken about birth control/labour. The pull out method is not birth control. And getting pregnant that soon after the first birth can be very dangerous.
      Let me stress, I still really like this channel but I think you need to confirm the information you share and fact check. You don't need to be an expert to do that. I know they sometimes say this but their audience is huge and mostly young people. So it's just being responsible because they have so much influence.
      However, these minor annoyances are outweighed by their honesty, innocence, and kindness as a couple. They're very wholesome.

    I love the episode! But I think it’s dangerous to say that white people can’t experience racism. Racism by definition is to treat someone differently or badly because of their ethnicity or color of their skin. White people can most certainly experience racism. I know she didn’t mean anything bad by it, but it’s sad to see that white people have to excuse their existence because of history. We should learn from it, but as long as you’re the kindest version of yourself, you’re doing everything you can. We can’t change history but we can choose how we act towards one another. Everybody should be proud of their ethnicity no matter what ❤️

    • @crookedlines
      @crookedlines 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is so interesting. I’ve often thought the same. Although it is of course far less common (and often less severe), I have seen similar situations. I think the idea is not to take away what non-white people have and continue to have to go through (basically highlighting white privilege). I raised this question in my college ethics class years ago, and that was the answer I received. As a white female, I’ve sort of made my peace with this issue recognizing I do not deal with racism or anything like it on even a semi-regular basis. You certainly have a valid point, in my opinion, I think the more important thing to remember, though, is that it isn’t the most important thing we should be focusing on. I think if we continue to show love toward everyone (as white people), that “racism towards white people” WILL dissipate. I strongly believe that. 🫂

    It's natural for kids to be well behaved/reserved around others, and then let that facade down around their parents. We do it even as adults in less dramatic ways but like how we would never argue with a coworker like we would our spouse, etc. It is an amount of understanding they will still like/love us if we arent perfect but others can judge harshly. Nobody can hold that facade forever ❤

    54:03 Matt began talking about going to college a few hours away from Arkansas and how it was very racist. I live in what is claimed to be the most racist town in America ( in Arkansas) and although there are some racist people I do feel like we get a bad rap. There is so much more good here than there is bad and most people tend to see right through that. I love people of all races and know people of all races very closely. Racism is such a bad thing and needs to be stopped, I just hate seeing people come to our town claiming it to be the most racist and only sharing the parts that are bad. Love y’all so much please keep posting amazing content❤

    Matt and Abby- I live in Arizona. To deal with the heat join a lifetime gym and use their massive outdoor community pool or indoor pools with your family. You’ll have to wake up at 5-7am to get outside before it gets too hot. Yes you can go to the park at that time or for walks and bike rides. Lastly, visit Prescott, Flagstaff, and Sedona during the weekends to get outside and enjoy lower temperatures. Also trips to California. These are things I wish I knew before moving here.
