I’m glad Jeremiah

Love your story bro. And the military part amazing. I am currently getting my degree in computer science but most of the development I know I learnt online. Really cool video ! Im in a tough situation right now which has kinda to do with the „get a software engineering job without degree“.. Im studying in Germany a bachelors degree called straight software engineering .. and im really really good in all classes ... except my law classes I don’t know why we have law classes but this is just something I’m probably too dumb for .. And I really learn every day for this classes even though I already failed once ... And this huge amount of time I put in this classes holds me back from doing math and software engineering and getting better at it I have 2 more attempts to make the law classes but I feel like I should think about ways to get a software engineering job if worst case scenario: I fail those law classes and therefore don’t get my degree .. Im also doing plenty of internships .. to get my foot in the door but yeah ... ^^ I try my best lol Edit: I also successfully finished an online course in programming fundamentals offered by Duke University for free a year ago .. hope this will help me in my future

I have had a very on and off relationship with coding. But I realised now, that the time my life had the most structure was when I was coding. I am definitely gonna get my head stuck in and fully commit to this . I also need to retake high school maths, so that the qualification won't get in the way of me getting hired. I have been dealing with depression, I think now, I am realising that my life may the have ups and downs. But what will make it easier is the ambition to see my life through. So thanks for the boost.
Really appreciate your story. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Glad I found this channel. I started that very same course just over a month ago and I've been making websites like I never would have believed. My background in programming is basically using Gamemaker, which I learnt when I was 12 (I'm 30 now lol). Always struggled with learning new stuff but something's different this time, things are sinking in. I'm probably going to soon be unemployed and so I've been looking into bootcamps and it's ridiculously overwhelming wading through all the options. The one thing I feel like I'd really miss from a bootcamp is group work experience and career support, but at least I know there's another way so I have no need to rush into anything.
Yesterday i started studying coding because i want to be a software developer in the future. Thanks for the video man, so motivating. Greets from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It's common and normal to lose motivation during self-education. After the initial high, things settle down and you find yourself unable to get yourself to learn. One strategy that's always worked for me and many others is to, as you start your self-education journey, write down all the reasons why you are undertaking that journey. List out all your whys. It's important to take time to do this. The reward far outweighs the effort. Then, every time you lose motivation, take a couple of minutes to read through your list of "whys". Reconnect to why you started in the first place. More often than not, you'll find that you'll get that emotional aspect of motivation back that would allow you to swing into action. This has worked consistently for me and several other self-taught professionals. Worth a try.
Really inspiring, thank you! I am also a visual learner and it’s hard for me to sit down and actually learn something. Videos and examples help me a lot. I hope to be given the same opportunity as you and be able to learn and grow in programming

I’m so inspired by this vlog , I am currently third year in my undergrad computer science and have been totally lost even felt programming isn’t working for me and practically gave up many times , I’m liking how this video gives me a new hope some sort of a validation that I have a fighting chance with better insight on how to become a better software engineer, I can’t but appreciate all these videos like urs I’ve come across that helps ignorant college students who have no proper education of what to expect from a computer science or software engineering degree then becomes lost in the process or do not feel this is what you want for yourself.. I’m glad Jeremiah
Happy you enjoyed this video :)
This video is a HUGE RELIEF. I was thinking i would need a comp sci or math degree to brewk into Machine learning or software engineering but am hapoy to see employers are wising up and realizing many peolle can self lewrn this stuff. Theres so many free resources out there now. Ive found 3 other channels fantastic for Discrete math, calculus and others. Plus my dad got me an Arduino Uno which is a great way to self lewrn coding and also build cool things.
As someone who's a*s is currently being kicked by a web development boot camp, I really needed to hear this. Thanks!
I got beaat up my first few months! Practice makes “kinda perfect “
wow that is a great story , I also learn now full stack web dev. keep going bro
I appreciate it!
Good afternoon sir! I'm a returning "professional" college student! I do work full-time and a little older than you🙂 but I just wanted to say that I appreciate your video because I to want to have a career change and become a developer as well! Thanks for your enthusiasm!
im 19 with a job interview tomorrow at a local store/gas station. i’m kind of over university since i had to miss 2 years due to covid/some personal surgery. i’m going to try to come out of 2022 with as much experience as i can in computer science, so i can get a software engineering/developing job. this video was amazing.
You got this btw you’re young. You got your whole life ahead of you but be sure to figure out what you wanna do so you don’t spend years like I did working a shitty job just to go back to school at 25. 🤞 good luck 😊
All the best im in the same boat as you
I love hearing stories like these. Im also 19 and am learning coding
Go back to school dude u young when you turn 30 then start self learning dont wastebyour young years guy
Congrats dude. Been two years now, hopefully you're still doing well with your coding.
Oh for sure! I’ll be accepting an offer here shortly
i am so thankful i found this video its my dream to be a programmer / software engineer and ive had my struggles with college and i am ever so inspiried just to be able to see someone that seems succesful and did such without a degree
I did two months of CS and I hated it and dropped. Companies these days never even ask for degrees. Just put in the work and get your name out in the community! Good luck
Thank you for the vibe and energy!
I want to start working on this path and this is so inspiring jeremiah!
I am a medical surgical nurse and really looking for career change. Really not planning to go to full time school again. I am glad to see this informative video. Thank You!!
Thank you Jeremiah for all that you do.
Your videos are awesome. Thank you. I'm on week 4 of 16 weeks bootcamp :)
How is it going??
Thank you for this! I’m planning my transition from the Army and am sooo interested in tech
Check out vetswhocode it’s coding bootcamp free for vets
Love your story bro. And the military part amazing. I am currently getting my degree in computer science but most of the development I know I learnt online. The sch kinda guide you thru they basics and you actually have to take the initiative to learn more. But you achieved it without the sch part and that is inspiring. ❤️
Really cool video !
Im in a tough situation right now which has kinda to do with the „get a software engineering job without degree“..
Im studying in Germany a bachelors degree called straight software engineering .. and im really really good in all classes ... except my law classes
I don’t know why we have law classes but this is just something I’m probably too dumb for ..
And I really learn every day for this classes even though I already failed once ...
And this huge amount of time I put in this classes holds me back from doing math and software engineering and getting better at it
I have 2 more attempts to make the law classes but I feel like I should think about ways to get a software engineering job if worst case scenario: I fail those law classes and therefore don’t get my degree ..
Im also doing plenty of internships .. to get my foot in the door but yeah ... ^^
I try my best lol
Edit: I also successfully finished an online course in programming fundamentals offered by Duke University for free a year ago .. hope this will help me in my future
Definitely finish the degree. It's much harder without one.
@@colorfulcodes it's much easier with one*
@@valroz
Why? Almost every company wanted a degree holders.
You've got me feeling inspired. My military career isn't feeling as worth it anymore, and I'm wanting to get into tech. This course has good recommendations and I'm here for it. I'll try to come back and add my own bit once I've made some progress or even finished it!
Break freee! When I was getting out they gave me orders to Germany. It was a hard decision but the best one. Now I’ve 4x my salary and I can just take my self to Germany when I want lol. Keep grinding!
How is everything going? I'm about to get out too (year and a half.)
@@heylovers7362 if this is the Colt Steele Web Developer 2022 Course, it's amazing. I've slacked pretty heavily because of a lot of family and military things going on, but it is the real deal. I recommend it to everyone and I plan to get back to it and finish it soon. The course is very well structured and updated. It will get you a huge understanding of everything and you can always build off it.
@@heylovers7362 I'm back again. I've taken this month to dig into the course a decent bit. I went from 25% to 45% and I can tell you that I am feeling more confident already. I've finished my first project, and begun my dive into JavaScript. It's a lot of note taking in JS but it's worth the grind. Hop on it ASAP if you're truly interested in it. Catch it on a sale ($18 as I type this) and start the grind.
how funny I discovered your story on insta and go on YT your video is recommended to me, it turns out I was a sub the whole time
😂 funny how subscribing works lolol
Hmm.. Happened to me on another channel.
I’ve been in college for 6 months, majoring software engineering but I don’t want to do 4 years of college and my college doesn’t offer an associates degree. I think think I’m just getting a minor in computer programming(love to hear people’s thoughts). I love tht you shared ur story, it inspires me.
how's life now?
Awesome video Jeremiah! Thanks for sharing your journey ☺️
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for telling us about your experience! It’s inspiring.
Glad you got value from it!
Love this for you man! I’m about to dive head first into self taught coding journey, wish me luck!
You got this!
I've recently started tackling c# language paired with unity and after this I'll be learning SQL and Python and start hitting the applications
Really appreciate your story. You have really motivated me, please keep sharing more videos and hopefully a guide to how to really get that point where your skill set would be enough for companies to see you as a developer and how much knowledge do we really see to get hired. Thank you and keep up the good work.
wow.. this is so inspiring! i really want to be achieve this goal one day too, so thanks for the video and info 🙏🏼
I’m working with youth to get them into coding and will use your channel and content to inspire them. ✊🏾
I love that! Thanks mate 🤙🏾
Great story, congrats, and best of luck!
Jeremiah peoples you are a true hero and life saver thank you so much for making these cideos and thank youtube
I’m glad you found this channel too!
Yesterday i started studying coding because i want to be a software developer in the future. Thanks for the video man, so motivating. Greets from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Good luck on your studies . Come back and comment once you land that first job 🤙🏾
Awesome story man. Im facing an upcoming deployment myself and i've had this EXACT plan mapped out for my down time. Thank you for the inspiration!
GOOD LUCK! May you be lucky enough to have WiFi
Best flicking story yet!!! Truly someone who did not have a degree whats so ever!!! This is motivating for me since I don't have a degree but I have the desire to want to program and I enjoy it. Everyday I'm learning something new and I get mind blown. It really is a rewarding career 🙌
Amazing! Currently half way through colt steele’s course and nice to hear that it worked out for you!
Good luck going through it! Best $10 I’ve ever spent
Thank you for the story I think I may take the leap as well
4:20 - 4:40
Having studied CS for 4 years I can feel your eagerness for that job.
So inspiring, brother! 🙋🏾♂️ I'm a Navy veteran. Thanks for your service! Looking forward to taking the necessary steps to start a IT career. I don't have any IT experience. Some college.
Noice, check out vetswhocode.io/ for free coding bootcamps!
i needed to hear that today, thank you!
Glad the algorithm showed it to ya lol
Wow this is amazing. Thank you for sharing!
I’m in my third year at college for game dev. I had to do some self searching to realize SE was probably a better option for me. Just wished I discovered it earlier
So proud of ya! Video is great keep going!😊😁
I’m Glad I finally pulled the trigger
Thx Pal :) good job.
I started learn c++ on beginning this year... we will see when I gonna change my actual job title: welder 👨🏻🏭:D
went from looking at santa monica apartments on youtube to subscribing to you. looking forward to new content. i see many similarities of me in you.
I appreciate the sub my guy, I have a ton of video ideas so stay tuned 😎
You’ll live there
Thanks for the story dude! Inspiring
Oh anytime dude 🤙🏾
You are such a smart brave kid, I hope more kids follow your path.
Congrats man.
How did you find motivation to finish the bootcamp? Asking because I usually find myself losing motivation mid through the course.
@@judemajasan4322 thanks for the tip bro
Really inspiring, thank you! I am also a visual learner and it’s hard for me to sit down and actually learn something. Videos and examples help me a lot. I hope to be given the same opportunity as you and be able to learn and grow in programming
I'm so glad!

Yes I like your video today, my name is George. I will be 53 in the next 4 weeks. I'm looking for a career change. Yes I want to go back to school and get my bachelor degree in computer field of jobs, I always love computers. You inspire me because young black man works in that field works. Computer jobs with increase. I've been looking around how to get started. Go to boot camp for 9 to 12 month. One thing that slowed me down through the years. I'm scared about my poor writing skills and my learning disability( dyslexia) that I struggling with all my life. I used to work for a state job that didn't go nowhere. I was struggling living paycheck to paycheck. I got about 15 more years before retirement. Three career path software engineer, computer science and IT field. Thank you for reading my page. Is there anything that you can help me out with please let me know. I just want to get my feet in door.😂😂
It's my 20th day of learning css and html5 this video really motivated thankyou
Thanks for wayching
Your story is so cool I wanted to be a teacher but COVID-19 changed everything so I just started Introduction to Python with Udacity and it's fun hoping to get into a coding bootcamp in May to keep me more focused and connect me to employers😁
You can do it!
Started with UI/UX design... hoping to diverse into front end web development soon
Good luck with it! Let me know how it goes!
Very concise video. Well done
Lol thank you. Hopefully I’m a better creator now
Thanks, that was great! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey.
More to come!
What an inspiring story. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on your new found career.
Thanks
Just started my journey... again. Gotta have more faith in myself. I want to make games. Imma stick with it this time.
again? Welcome to part two. I was on my 3 try at coding when i made this video lol
Well done and thank you for shearing your experience man.
Thanks a lot Jeremiah. Appreciate the video man!
Thanks for stopping by
i just wanted to comment that I love you. I was planning on a bootcamp but its very pricy and i realized I can learn to code from udemy or codeacademy and land a job in a few months.
Awww thanks for that! Good luck on your bootcamps!
Thanks to TH-cam algorithm...I was actually losing hope to software developer....🎉...😀 hope
Haha I’m glad if this video pumped ya up! But again I got extremely lucky that someone took a chance on me early. Good luck on your learning though! 👏🏾
Wow I knew when I clicked this video I hit the jackpot thanks for this amazing video
Glad you enjoyed!
Congrats bro, I’m currently learning c# ,any tips to get out of fundamental purgatory, or as we all know it as ...tutorial purgatory?
Jason Tutorials thanks, yeah I’d recommend trying to build something using all the skills you know now, plus some that you don’t. Actually implementing what you know and running into errors is a great way to solidify your skills and get satisfaction from creating things!
Incredible! I'm trying to get into web development. I've heard from some that it can take years to break into the market if you have no degree. Stories like yours give me hope that it doesn't have to be that way!
Tis a ripe job market, get after it!
Thanks for sharing your journey! I'm currently back on mine too! I've already learned HTML. I'm currently learning CSS and next I'll be learning JavaScript. I'm self-taught too, so vids like these help me to figure what to learn after JavaScript. God bless ✨
Wow wild this video is still getting views. Thanks for watching. Hopefully my later videos show you what is possible when you learn to code!
@@JeremiahPeoples Yes, this vid still gets views because it's important! Many ppl want to pivot into a better paying and more interesting career with room to grow without going back to school for 4 years and drowning themselves in debt (when there's no guarantee they'll get a job in that field).
So, yes - your videos matter and your channel matters.
Btw, I found Colt Steele on Udemy.....bout to buy his Web Developer Bootcamp and it's been updated for 2024. I also found his TH-cam channel and I'm learning things from his vids there too.
Thanks for what you do! 🙌🏽💗🤲🏽 God bless ✨
Kudos to you, i will share this video with many, and i have subscribed.
Welcome to the famalam
Nice. I'll try to do more research on this field and give it a shot if I'm more intrigued
Let me know how it goes or if you need any advice!

Thanks for the video! I was afraid of apply for a job, after months of hard studying, but this video helped me! I'll come back here to tell you the result of the selection kkk
