Attempting to repair the front sunshade on my Jaguar XJL......unsucessfully.

Hi @AIR_FUEL_SPARK - I have exactly this same problem since last week with my MY2011 Jaguar XJ. Any luck or further insights from here or other forums. Like you - I am enthusiastic to get this fixed. I haven;t started dismantling anything as yet but your video as above is a massive help as a starter. Just that I do not want to start dismantling without a prior knowlegde that something can be done/fixed....

you have to block that gear and then it will start turning in the opposite direction,,, and fix the motor with new screws

How do you block the gear?

While the gear is turning in one direction, try to block it with a screwdriver or something similar. When it stops, replace both screws that hold the motor.

It certainly sounds that way. As from 3 days ago I now have the same problem, I hope its not an expensive fix

I have the same problem with my front sunshade. Tried the „easy fix“ wirh the white plug in the front… didn’t work. My motor is also only turning in one direction
