- The 1990 U.S. One Cent Coin, commonly known as the Lincoln penny, features the profile of President Abraham Lincoln on the obverse, designed by Victor D. Brenner. The reverse showcases the Lincoln Memorial, designed by Frank Gasparro, which was used on pennies from 1959 to 2008. Made primarily of copper-plated zinc (97.5% zinc, 2.5% copper), the coin has a diameter of 19.05 mm and weighs 2.5 grams. It was minted in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco, with mint marks ("D" for Denver, "S" for San Francisco, and no mint mark for Philadelphia). Some rare error varieties, such as the 1990 "No S" proof penny, are highly valuable to collectors.
