- This video is going to show you how I converted my 1980 small block Chevy to a serpentine belt driven system. The parts are all from a 2001 V6 Chevy blazer that bolt up right to my 1980 350 block.
This is the tail end of my engine rebuild for part of the restoration for my truck rebuild. #restoration #squarebody #enginerebuild
Thanks for the video!
Where’s this alternator bracket you were talking about?
I’m also gonna try to delete the power steering
Can you show us the bracket for alternator Sir?
Hell yes show Us !!!! ???????
always check to see if you turn your water pump correct way or if u have reverse flow water pump
That's what I was thinking. If it originally had a long pump wouldn't the coolant be flowing backwards?
How did you finish the alternator bracket? I was waiting for that because I have the same set up and can't figure this out. PLESE HELP
That hole you put the bolt in with rtv is the bypass. You will have to tap it and put a plug in. Then the thermostat needs three 1/8 holes drilled in the flat area to allow it to bypass otherwise you will have major issues
I’m going to post it soon, but with the truck running and after driving it the hole didn’t leak but I know I need to plug it so I will. But the truck hasn’t overheated while running but I’ll keep in mind about the thermostat for future reference
Hey buddy nice video. What plug did you use for alternator and resistor
Hey man cool video just so you and everyone knows there is a company that sells adapters to adapt these and the brackets that come on the older throttle body small blocks to gen 4 and 5 big block chevys it’s called Kwik performance they are in Missouri
Hello my small block has aluminum head and 2 of the 3 bolts to hold the alternator bracket on also a note to people looking into doing this that the bolts are metric from the blazer S10 and for an older engine you’ll need to source UNC bolts I’m looking forward to your video on the bracket your making
whats the item number for the alternator resistor
Anything about the alternator bracket?
Did you ever post how you made the bracket ?
What did you do about the plug for the alternator
Hey love the video I grabbed my parts for my swap. Did you tap that third water pump hole and also my head only has the one hole on the passenger side. Any tips? 🙏
I have not tapped it yet but, don’t be like me lol. Go ahead and do it the right way and tap and plug it. Also you can drill a second hole into the head it’s a little sketchy but it’s possible.
i’m so glad i ran across this! i’m in the same situation right now and have no extra money for a bracket for my alternator so we are going to try running it without it until i can make enough to properly mount it to the heads. do you have any other recommendations for a bracket? or do you think drilling the head could possibly be an option?
Drilling the head is an option but a risky one especially if you don’t know what you’re doing
Any suggestions on how to track down this stuff ?
Great video, My question is would this give you enough clearance for the hood to close? Say , in a G body 79 Buick Regal
I honestly don’t know, because I believe those engine accessory brackets were only on the Chevy SUV’s and trucks
Hi; would this work on a 84 monte carlo ss?
How do you know what vehicle to get the accessories off of
1998-2000 V6 or V8 gm vortex motors. All accessories in this video came from a 2000 V6 Blazer
@@oxthreefifty708 Including the water Pump?
Anyone know what size belt he used could use the information
I thought I mentioned it in the vid, but the belt is for a 2001 V6 4.3 Chevy Blazer
Can it fit on a 350sbc and 400sbc
I tried to install the same on my 350 and the power steering bracket hits everything i don’t know how he installed this my hits the intake and valve covers
Wow cheap and terrible looking just for a belt😂😂😂😂
You trippin this is fiya
