My first motorcycle was a Yamaha YDS2. 250cc with the 5 speed trans. I paid $125 for it in 1964 with a stripped spark plug in one cylinder. Took it off and down to the local Harley mechanic and he hellicoiled the plug hole for 4 or 5 dollars. Reassembled with no new gaskets and it ran great. 12000 rpm in 1st gear. A great fast lite bike in its day. Thanks for the memories.

The kick-starter is worth cheaper by about a $1,000.00 dollars than no kick-starter type motorcycle. The starter motor must be a up the front from Yamaha. Then if lucky rare find -the electric starter to the front cylinders Twin. The exhaust header pipe must come off and add in Starter 12-15 volts stator of its 4 brushes to the Start motor. The pipe exhaust side is touching the starter motor case. It seems the curvature is all wrong so make a new bend then that cast muffler pipe is not verily to be the way to do it. Galvanized extra pipe header will stick-out farther front, the flow exhaust farther forward then flow goes down below the oil filter case cover. There it is not touching the starter motor case that shrouded the shaft includes with the removable crankshaft bearings frictionless Babbitt two halves.
The kick-start foot shank cannot be coming off so that if it's replace it with the electric motor 3HP 10amps that is going to be connect to the shaft where it's once was the kick-start. The starter shaft also is named behind the drum magneto gears called start by either starter drill motor 12 volts 10AMP or a foot Cranking up to a minimal of 400 RPM with the requirement Tachometer $150.00 dollars so that it would read accuracy at 50 RPM and up. Please, at the right side modification ratchet start gear.

Loosen kick stand, put into proper place.
    Get carbide drill bits
Drill small hole between kick starter and shaft.
Start very small so the bit can not wander, gradually drill up in size until you can push a hardened pin into it.
Tighten kick starter, it will not move any more.

Cool old bike, cant believe you didn't wash it before you started working on it. It looks like it smells bad also. So much easier working on a clean bike and not letting dirt get into the engine or carb.

He is good in saying about the 200cc Twin Yamaha slow motorcyle. He said one person sit on the Yamaha motorcycle at the same time he push the motorcycle while it is on 1st and 2nd gear either one. That save time into my heart the motor and his starter. Everywhere you run at same time pushing the handlebar then jump up and sit on the seat of the Yamaha and press first gear and let go the left side hand handle. That is called starter button except HaoSen TaoTao that built all the best starter motors in all over the world and don't get RIP OFF in Harley-Davidson..

The point have lobe for distribute shaft carries the lobe few lobes. You did saw the press spring push the point into closed circuit. The lobe reverse the direction of the push until the opened circuit by lobe alternating.
The two spark plugs of twin cylinders enclosed of bores and stroke 200cc will automatic fire same time. The power stroke of both cylinder Twin combustion chamber is fire/boom. That's the Yamaha's way and it helps to win right in the Starting line to the lead of the pack = the highest acceleration.

It would be helpful if you added links to the follow on videos in your content. Annoying to have to search for other videos. I like the content. You’re rebuilding my youth. I’m still picking out road rash from my younger years.

But that is Honda Hawk having the stator in right side, not Yamaha. The Points and generator with 6 diodes in left side motor is for Yamaha. The two springs for centrifugal advance timing or 1 spring instead of 2 spring is okay for weight into rotation counter as it's in the system for dwell.
