Today is 15 years old. It does not feel prehistoric. It feels updated, but it does not feel ancient. When is older than under 98 and 95 was back in 2009.

I bet that those games "not supporting" windows 7 would run just fine if someone went into the exe file and changed one line about OS compatibility.
Because I'm 100% sure that is the ONLY layer that they actually added to make it not work on windows 7.
Or also spoofing the OS ver as windows 11, I bet those programs will get tricked too...
yeah, I know that on Windows vista there is an extended kernel made by the community that lets you use many application you otherwise wouldn't be able. On vista you can't play modern games since dx12 are not supported, but on 7 there is really no excuse

I use windows 7 as my main. GTX1650 + i3-1410 + B760 chipset + 32 GB RAM. The only issue i have that i can't use my wifi + eth. I handled it with usb wifi stick. Everything works flawlessly. Steam, microsoft edge etc. Even NVME SSD and USB 3.1 ports are working well. I heard that extended kernel is WIP, after that I will delete my Windows 11 partition.
And man, that aero glass theme... Most time i just watching it.

@@ikytsu7822 No it works fine. But for newer PC you will need an USB Wifi Stick. Some games and programms does not support win7 or win8.1. I am lucky because all of my games support win7 or win8.1. one important think don´t use antivirus programms they aren´t protect you from maleware. Sorry for my English (I am from Germany)

The aero theme, no bloatware, good UI for a PC, imo the windows 10 file explorer was the only better part. Sadly most things dont work on windows 7
The signature problems is caused by certificates expired in 2019 but you can easily fix by installing Legacy Update

The EMP.dll crash is not incompability, it's that the person who released the crack might have not included it, you can try to add the DLL manually and try to launch it
Windows 7 can Support uefi. It you create a bootable usb with rufus. And you can download a iso with usb 3 drivers preaded

I still run Windows 7 as my daily driver but on fairly high-end era-specific hardware, so no issues with drivers. As for games, I simply just don't play what won't run.

CSM is BIOS witch was used on computers back in the day
Ramtech ENG : the 12-th, 13-th and 14-th gen of Intel processors actually has 2 CPU-s under 1 CPU die. The P-cores are classic desktop cores in a separate core complex whereas the E-cores are laptop mobile cores also in a separate core complex. Microsoft doesn't support Win 7 anymore so there was no need for them to implement an update that would hide the true nature of newer intel cores as if they are a 1 CPU under 1 CPU die config. In Win 10 they did so under the dictation of Intel.
Intel is using 2 CPU under 1 CPU die design to try to be able to compete with AMD-s superior CPU architecture that is much more energy efficient, has higher IPC, higher single-core perfromance, higher multi-core performance and produces lower temps.
Wtf... e cores are not laptop mobile core. Laptop P cores use the same P cores as desktop. Also intel is monolith, they never glue the die together or use chiplet (exception pentium D or core 2 quad). The whole P cores and E cores stack share the same L3 cache on a monolith die

I'm currently watching this video on a ThinkPad T520 Running Windows 7. Windows 7 is genuinely one of the last great OSes ever made by Microsoft.

I suspect the reason that many games dont support 7 is because of Anti Cheat. Anti Cheat needs time be patched often to fix vulnerabilities, and they probably dont want to focus on fixing it for OSes that dies ages ago. Also, a modern game that should actually work is minecraft. If you download the latest version, it wont work, but if you download an old version of the launcher, it will update itself when you launch it and will work.
This is what I wanted to mention in the beginning of the video, my instincts work fine... that if your GPU is compatible, then you can install it.
So by digging deep into Windows 7's requirements, I found that official support isnt stopped at "6th Gen", it's Skylake. This includes Skylake-X, which had it's last iteration with the "i9-9990XE". However that isnt supported, only the i9-9980XE. Still though, that's 18 cores at 4.4ghz. You can pair it with a Strix X299-E Gaming II motherboard to get up to 128GB of DDR4-4266mhz, and since Nvidia killed SLI, just 1 RTX 3090 Ti, without RT. So, the fastest officially supported Windows 7 PC is as followed:

RTX 3090 Ti
16x8GB (128GB) DDR4-4266MHz
Strix X299-E Gaming II
This is 100% the best of the best for completely official support.

Have run into same instal problem when try to instal win7 professional .Required vm to get it in system but mouse still freezes and if eventually get utube to open plays with no sound.Dont play games except slots and just after a reliable back up system that more friendly then win11 to operate.

@@stblg1743 its been a while the videos of it being done i havent found anymore but its mostly a registry edit sometimes a Nntoskrnl.exe or winver.exe edit idk been a while. You can also find/change the build version in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" could work... also for Callisto two files i think are needed dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll and edit the launcher option through steam for the game and set it to -dx11 and maybe itll launch.... It's been a while since ive seen anyone try to edit or spoof their os build and version to get programs to run and even that may not help.. You could possible grab the windows 7 extended kernel which could possibly help as well. either way nice video.
I run windows 7 on a i3 9300 why not? Still a good os for good old games 2005-2016.
I remember buying a PC with 6th gen Intel CPU in early 2016 and Windows 7 setup was causing problems to me even though it was still supported. Had to install Windows 10 retail (1507) and downgrade to 7 to make it happen.

I actually tried doing this a couple weeks ago. I managed to get it to install, but unfortunately I have a gtx 4070, so it wasn't compatible. I was also unable to get ethernet to work. If someone ever makes a solution to those issues I'd love to see them.

Turn off Windows Animations and it'll be even faster! Also Aero effects if you want to go really crazy. 😂 I would honestly love to still run 7 on my newer PC's but there's too many compatibility issues obviously.

ramtech if your keyboard isnt working and mouse plug it into a usb 2.0 port and it should work i did that back in the day (if your in windows 7 setup)

@@Galaxy.Windows yeah, it’s much more revamped and is closer to 10. Windows 8 is at about the same kernel level as 7 if you don’t account for the UWP Metro apps
@@damian9303 Windows 8 is Windows 7 with Metro UI support. Windows 8 still has the Aero taskbar transparency without the blur and DWM can be swapped with the one from an ealier build to get back the blury transparency on taskbar and windows. even the Windows 7 explorer works but it needs some dlls from Windows 7

Windows 7 I liked a lot but I do think 10 is overall better. Only because it can handle updates and driver installs so seamlessly
Also, you checked the speed of the Win7 by opening internet browsers... they are dependent by your internet speed.

CS2 does work on Windows 7, you just need to fully update Windows.

Apex worked on Win 7 till the May 2023 and Respawn didnt decide to just stop supporting Win 7,the game was broken whole season 17 on Win 7 and they tried to fix it but was way too complicated so they just dropped support for Win 7 alltogether.

Nah this is not the most morden specs available today, it would be an UEFI Class 3 motherboard that doesn't support CSM mode anymore. Hope you can make a video about this problem (I recommend using Uefiseven)

I didn’t check it on other motherboards, but on ASUS, if CSM is off, it will stuck on the logo screen and you can’t do anything with it
@@RamtechENG I tried booting a windows 7 usb with uefiseven and it actually worked! Just needed the proper hardware. Although the drivers (usb and nvme) weren't working at all. It would not show the "setup is updating registry settings" at all even with csm. What did you do to get the nvme drivers working?

Try to download it again and also try to use another USB thumb drive. Looks like you write image incorrectly. It’s better to use UtlraISO or Ventoy

I also did this on another pendrive in a different USB slot and using the ventoy program. The installation will start the same way, it's almost ready and this message will pop up. I will try to insert another SSD drive
