Similar question as Tony Lu.... I have calculated my own baseline reference line using the following formular and that works great. Now I would like to create the upper and lower limits using this value but have been unable to figure that part out.... sum({ FIXED : Sum(If([Report Dt]>=#2/1/2021# and [Report Dt]=#2/1/2021# and [Report Dt]
Great tutorial as always. The Avg line includes all of the months from the Order Date, is it possible to set it to a baseline year? For example, I have data from Jan.2018 thru Jul.2022, I would like to set the avg. reference line to only Jan.18 thru Dec.18 then create the UCL and LCL. Any inputs and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Definitely possible. You’ll need to write a calc to bring back the data you want for the average line, probably an LOD. Then put that on the detail shelf so you can use it as a reference line.
@@vizwiz Thank you for the quick response! I'm actually surprised that you'd have time to read these comment while juggling several workshops. I spent much of yesterday trying different approaches - parameters, calculated fields and read through more threads on the Tableau Community board. - still haven't figured it out. It looks like Twitter is the only public space you have where I can post questions, is this correct? Ultimately I think I need to incorporate an FY parameter and calculated field in order to change the reference line FY, not fixed to a particular year. This sort of got me in the right path but still isn't quite right. {FIXED [Date of Sales] : AVG(IF [Date of Sales]>=#7/1/2018# AND [Date of Sales]
I just went searching for this today and here you are explaining it. 😀 Thanks!
Fantastic!!
Another excellent tutorial. Many many thanks Andy!!
Thank you very much Christos!
