  • I'm splitting a selection of hardwood timber, which is easy to work with. For that reason I am using an axe most of the time. The maul had to be used on some occasions on the tougher stuff.

This man reminds me of my grandfather. He knew a lot & had much experience in life & was one really tough guy. They dont make them like that anymore, is i believe the expression. I think i heard the lady say dad? Well if i may say, u have yourself a wonderful father. Nice wood pile there also. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work blasting through knot on your first swing of the maul.

Tim: Good observation! The householders do have a stove and also an open fireplace, which is fairly small. They like to make use of it. With that in mind, the cuts were made accordingly. During the work, I also did some experimenting with different ways of splitting.
I enjoy your channel. You're making a few dollars doing some honest, physically demanding work. There are lots of people that can't say that.

Thanks. Now that you said it, the work can also be relaxing, even though it can be demanding at times.

4:58 to 5:20 The ginger cat in the picture was in hunting mode, and nearly six years later he is still the same.
