Since you've done Half Moon Bay, you could try out the Palo Alto Airport. It has a small runway with a wetlands nature preserve on one side of the airport and the bay on the other. It is also the second busiest GA airport in the US, only beaten by Van Nuys Airport. It also has a retired military base next to it that is used by NASA and also private jets from the nearby company headquarters. I think you would probably find it interesting.
I can it do it on mine but it drops my fps into the single digits. Definitely need to upgrade my PC to be able to play it with better settings/stability.
Who else can still remember, when u just even could fly in infinite flight multiplayer (alpha) at San Francisco and the region. And all players were flying an A380 out of half moon bay
PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines) and Pan Am at one time diverted airliners to HMB in the 1950-60s. This happened when SFO was fogged in (no ILS at that time). Buses would pick up passengers to their final destination at SFO. Aircraft at that time were Lockheed L-188 Electras and Boeing 377 Stratocruisers.
A couple of hundred miles south on the coast, try Oceano Airport. Years ago a turboprop landed by mistake full of passengers, and then took off again! It was a Metroliner III that was supposed to go to San Luis Obispo. Both airports have a runway 29/11. They landed and took off on runway 29. Maybe you can do that.
Swiss001: what if San Francisco airport failed and planes had to divert to another airport like half-moon Oakland International: Am I a joke to you? Swiss001: yes because your a big airport and that's another story
Great video! I learned to fly in the Bay Area. San Carlos would be a fun airport for your videos. It is 2600 feet. There are a few citations that go in there. It's time to start up 737 service to KSQL.
I freaked out when I saw this video because I literally go to half moon bay all the time to see my parents, eh, maybe when this whole quarantine thing is over and I'm over there, I can convince my grandparents to take me plane spotting? But yeah, thank you so much for making a video on this airport! :D edit 1/8/23: I went spotting over a year ago there, it was fun!
Half moon bay is not the San Francisco GA airport. Palo Alto, San Carlos, and San Jose Reid-Hillview are the GA airports. Half moon bay is a place for weekend trips, vacations, etc. Source: I live nearby
@Swiss001 Try KWVI watsonville municipal, and Monterey Bay academy, those should be some very challenging airports for you that are just a bit South from Half Moon Bat
Hey Swiss try the KSFO 1l and 1r circle to land approach. It’s pretty challenging (kinda like Kai tak maybe a little bit) and super rare and is only used with heavy gusts from the northeast
I love seeing your videos and I am from half moon bay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Belfast city airport- BHD has a very short runway with a city right behind it. The approach is over water and it would be Very interesting to see how big of planes could fly there
