Can we do a follow up to this great video with one that demonstrates setting up shipping for this item (or another)? Thank you for the video nonetheless.
Thanks for the video publish. We are a signage company that produce illuminated signs. We order a box of LED Modules. Modules come in rolls, and need to be cut down in size. Here are the criteria: - We order by a case (box) - each box = 12 bags - 1 bag = 80 modules. How can this be set up in units of measure if we want the manufacture UoM as module, but the purchase UoM as Box? thanks ahead for your videos!
In this case, you can set the bag as the base reference. The module is 0.125 ratios smaller than the reference and the box is 12 ratios bigger than the reference UoM can be set. Ultimately it is stored in a warehouse in the sales unit of measure only
This is one of Odoo features that I don't like... it will force to create Unit of Measures Category on each item. Example the reference is pcs.. and we but it for pack of 6pcs... not all item are having that kind of packaging, so you need to create another category for item that has 12pcs per pack or 8 pcs per pack and so on. 🙄🙄
If possible, you can keep them under one UOM category itself, but it will be applicable to items which use the same category or packs can be configured with product packaging as well. It's all about what we exactly need. otherwise, we can customise to apply available UoM for each Item.
Thank You!
