I do spend time to pull them apart but not for the reasons of scrap value. I take everything apart so I can keep the washing tub. I'll screw a piece of 1/2" plywood to the tub to cover the hole where the motor goes and the tub becomes a small scrap item storage bin.
I've dome this hahaha
Sometimes I see a brass elbow for the water line held in by two screws. Other than that I totally agree, nothing worthwhile to take off.
I like to fill them up with small light iron peices b4 I go to the scrapyard. You can fit a lot of weight in there.
I know a lot of scrappers that fill them up
I love the info!, thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
I do low volume so I feel I must take just about anything I find. I do gut dishwashers when I find them. There is also wire in the door and silver in the keypad membrane.
Scrap Man 69, a good friend of mine does exactly the same thing
Living in a small community, I only get so much scrap so I maximize everything off of it. If I lived in a large area and scrap is abundant, burning through stuff like this would be acceptable. There's no one way to scrap.
If it’s plastic on the inside I dnt bother yards wnt take it
@@joshuamorris9050the 2 scrap yards I go to- they take dishwashers with no questions asks. Even if they are plastic on the inside.
@@number8killer383 usually not the case but good for you
Good point! sometimes we focus on the big guys and don't focus on the little guys. Thanks for the reminder
is there a catagory for the heating element?
I usually take the heating elements out of dishwashers.
What does your yard accept that as?
