This about a relationship about a boy and his mom. Never Grow Up is one of the only nonrelationship song she wrote. But mainly it is relationship.

I'm saying 100s of prayers for him, I lost a best friend of a lifetime to cancer when he was seven in 2010. His birthday was October 18th, I now have another reason to go bald every year. Just to make you feel a little better even though it was impossible to make me feel better before, when someone says it gets better, listen to them, not literally, but figuratively, basically you learn to cope with it, you always are reminded of them, but it's up to you to remember the good times. Just for example, I found a video of my buddy Garrett saying I love you too, to his mom about four months before his passing, I look at it everyday as my inspiration to kick cancers *** in honor of him two more times then I already did and I am only 16. So just remember the good times and know you have a lot of prayers coming yours and his way
I'm so sorry for your losses everyone. I had a cousin his name is Piero and he passed away when he was about 14 from Brain Cancer. It was in October of 2014. But he has been in heaven for 2 years now. I try not to worry about him because he is flying with the angels and he has never been happier. And I will see him one day. Sometimes I try to have a conversation with him when I'm sad because he knows the answer. He is perfect like Jesus. Jesus has forgave him. He hasn't been talking to me lately. I feel like the conversation between me and him was in my head. But I know that he knows that I think of him every day. He knows that I'm talking to him. But I usually ask him, "What does heaven look like? What is it like up there?" And he says just like earth, but even more beautiful, and perfect. Nothing to worry about, nothing to be scared about, and nothing bad to think about. It is perfect. Because I am with Jesus. And you guys, if you aren't Christians, please watch the movies War Room and Heaven is for real for me. Trust me, it will change your life. If you want to be with the perfect man who never lied, never schemed, and never stole, never done anything bad before, and of you want to have wings, if you want to live forever, (when you die you will be up there in heaven) then please watch those movies for me. I feel bad that she has cancer, but for both parents to have had cancer must just be really hard. I think that this song is great. I think it's great that she wrote it. My 11 month old brother passed away last Thursday of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) I miss him so much. He died just a week before he would be one year old. He was the happiest boy you had ever seen since the moment he was born. He was always smiling and laughing. We are playing this song at his funeral on Thursday. Thursday was supposed to be a happy day, because it would've been his first birthday.

It was two boys, ages 15 and 16, that were after my nephews best friend for stupid reason. They had killed his best friend and then my nephew because they happened to be together that day. They were caught because the 15 year old was bragging and showed someone the bodies. 15 year old got 15 to life and the 16 year old got 25 to life.

I've played this song on repeat so many times, but I still end up tearing up. And I'm NOT a person who gets emotional while listening to music that easily. Becky - In an interview she did say that she would tell her 19 year old that everyone slut shamed her because everyone DID slut shame her even when she dated like any normal teenage girl would and also when many other celebs dated more men than her and did not get flack for it. As for better than revenge Taylor was really young and immature when she wrote it. We're all humans we make mistakes. She later became friends with Joe Jonas (the song was about his girlfriend Camille Bell) who dated Gigi Hadid (her friend) and she was absolutely okay with it. Lastly about You Belong with me, Taylor wrote it from personal experience she said that she accidentally overheard a conversation between her crush and his then-girlfriend and that girl was extremely mean to him. You can't blame someone for being honest in their songs.
But if you still think she's a hypocrite go listen to her song Girl at Home. Every one talks about how shady she is in Better than Revenge, no one talks about how empathetic she is in Girl at Home. No one is completely good or evil you know!

I thought I was the only one crying every time. I agree--no one should hate Taylor Swift so much after this. She wrote this song for another woman. Unless I heard incorrectly, she didn't personally know Ronan. It is the simple passion she adds in, the major empathy she obviously possesses, and her beautiful ability to say what she means. The moment she produced a song that was played too much, everyone used it against her. Everyone forgot what she used to do, the country music--and her insane ability to break anyone with song. She has a talent with her words, let us not forget that. Ronan is now his family's guardian angel.

I'm a childhood cancer activist and it's a shame that the world seems to only know the pink ribbon and support breast cancer awareness. Today I learned that one of my friends committed suicide two days ago.. This is the first time I've lost someone this way. You never think someone you know will be gone this way until someone does. I know it's different from the way Ronan passed, but this song still makes me feel better. All kinds of loss are bad enough but when someone commits suicide, all you think about is how you could've helped to prevent it, what pushed them over the edge, how they felt the last minute.. Was he crying? Was he regretting the jump? Who did he think of?
The last thing I could imagine him being is being sad. Yet, his suicide was planned long ago. I wonder if he was already contemplating suicide the last time I met him. It's all so hard to process. 😢

Not for me, not for you.. for Ronan, and for kids everywhere who fight for their lives every day and who never got the childhood they deserved. Until Childhood Cancer is a topic we are not afraid to talk about.. we have failed. Our generation.. the technology generation needs to be the ones who bring light to these causes and who make real things go viral. Instead of pointless videos and jokes.. we need to be the ones who make our resources count for something. And thank you Maya.. for sharing Ronan with us, it has opened my eye's and I'm sure the eye's of others to the fact that childhood cancer is no rare occurrence, and we need to do our part in making sure that everyone knows that and we find a way to stop it. Ronan has such a great mother.. i hope you understand that without you and without the strength you've demonstrated by opening up your lives to us.. we probably would've never known. This is such a heartbreaking song. But I think this song shows how selfless Taylor is. No one asked her to write this song. She did it because she felt that it was important to tell the story of who seemed to be a very sweet little boy, who left us way too soon.

I’m a 10 year cancer survivor April 29. Thank god for all the survivors and I pray each night that each child goes another day and won’t have to worry about not waking up in the morning. It’s real tough but god, faith, and family will get you through anything.

I don’t think just anyone could write, sing and deliver a song like this the way Taylor did. I think it takes a very empathetic soul to do something like this. You can hear her voice breaking multiple times in the song. She’s pretty amazing❤️❤️❤️
In 2011, Taylor and Maya wrote this song for Ronan. It broke our hearts and brought so much awareness to fighting cancer. Unbeknownst to Taylor, years later her mother, Andrea, would begin her battle with cancer. This song and its story was now even more personal. When Taylor was robbed of her masters (including this song) I was sad that this story would be owned by someone else. And now in 2021, we can rejoice in Taylor's Version being released soon with Maya's support. Ronan, his story and his family will live on eternal in this song, and we will treasure his memory along with it. Much love to Taylor and Ronan's family for sharing his remarkable story with us ❤❤

I signed this song in my ASL class in high school when it came out. Everyone in my class cried after I signed the song. The lyrics are extremely powerful and heartbreaking about a mother losing her son, but at the same time shows that her son was happy and brave while battling cancer. This song continues to give me goosebumps to this day.
I am here again to reminisce about the song upon hearing the news of the rerecorded version, and now I'm crying my eyes out like the first time.
I may not have my own child yet but I am an uncle of a 4 year-old boy who's sometimes annoying but he's just exactly like Ronan and any other kid their age who's playful, curious and is just a ray of sunshine.
