Okay I’m going to try to explain the borderlands as best as possible. The theory is that the borderlands are an in between point between life and death, existing within a single moment. Those who didn’t immediately die when the meteor exploded, but were on the cusp of life and death were sent to the borderlands. Death in the borderlands to one of the games meant you died in real life. The 4 or so months that arisu spent in the borderlands were confined to a single 1 real life minute. The theory of other people being there at different times is because their cusp of life and death was at a different time. Like let’s say someone had a bad heart attack on the 14th of January 2014, and this meteor happened on the 27th of march 2023, even though they’re in the same lands, they’re hypothetically spending different lengths there. My theory is that the kings, queens and jacks of s2 were the people who chose to stay as a permanent resident when other games concluded. So just because arisu goes back, it doesn’t mean the borderlands are over, it just means it resets to square one. That’s why they lost their memories and stuff. It basically didn’t happen. i genuinelt wish I could watch this show for the first time again. Seeing all the secret ways the main characters would win and stuff is just so cool. If you like psychologyical kind of stuff like this, Kakegurui is a good anime. A lil freaky but good.
