Psydub producer here.... great video! Love the ideas and the tune and of course its great to see 2 musical legends collaborating. For me tho this tutorial is more psybient than psydub as there are a couple of omissions that are pretty central to the dub sound, those being: - how to make a broken groove where the snare is as punchy as the kick without making it super big and heavy like on your breaks and glitch hop tutorials, and to keep the more chilled vibe - How to make a skank (offbeat reggae thing usually played by guitar) using synths and samplers. Would love to watch your take on these 2 areas :)
Vielen Dank ! Freue Mich auf Episode2 - Ich denke , es ist Mein Lieblingsvideo , diese Episode 1; in diesem JAHR und alle zuvorrigen JAHRE - Nochmals Danke !
Hi Dash, I love your videos :) I have a suggestion. When you are tweaking the sound of the synths, it would be great to listen how the sound changes for each knob you turn, instead of doing everything and showing the end result only. Thanks a lot!
More psy dub hells yea! In fact I have a curiosity: how often do you break down a psytrance track into or out of psy dub sections? I think they go really well - old school etnica, brujos bowl, and of course shpongle to point at a few

Yup, speakimg the truth. 3 months and 0 likes on your comment. I got into shpomgle almost a decade ago and still think he's amazing, but one day like 5 or 6 years ago I came across Ozric Tentacles, and immediately recognized, hey this is the only band I've ever heard with that Shpongle sound (and considering they are a 40 year old JAM Band, with probably like 50 albums!!! That's quite amazing). I can't believe they are able to use their effect the way they do live and spontaneously, and yet also even after so many albums manage to make every single track sound completely unique, not only to all other music but even to their own catalog!!! Then I found an early rather rare remix of an Ozric Tentacles track done by Halucinagen (Simon from Shpongles Psytrance Alias) (should still be on youtube), thus confirming that Simon Kmows who Ozric is, is a fan, and was indeed influenced by them. But it should also be said that I've watched a lot of interviews of both Shpongle and Ozric and both where/ are also heavily influenced by Dub music/ mixing, and it's those Dub techniques mixed with their unique Production/ Psychedelic/ Modern Electronica/ and Rock techniques/ knowledge that gives them their super unique sounds. I've never heard even another Shpongle fan make the Ozric connection but if you showed them any Ozric track imsure they would instantly recognize it.
P.S. I HATE that the greatful dead, gets so much credit as " an amazing Jam Band", while they aren't even fit to tune Ozrics instruments and they get no credit. I hated all Jam Bands for years, solely based on the Dead. Either g the only 1 I'd ever heard... then I heard Ozric and realized how awesome Jam Bamds could be, and that it was just the Greatful Dead sucki h so hard they took down a whole genre of music with them and gave it a bad name.
@@davegraham716 Ozric's are really a UK centric band, so not that well known internationally - they used to close out Glastonbury every year (they may still do, I wouldn't know I no longer live in the UK 20 years).
