Muscle fatigue is common in athletes for a number of reasons, including:
      Repeated muscle contraction
High-intensity workouts and other types of exercise that involve repeated muscle contractions can cause fatigue.

      Lactic acid buildup
During exercise, muscles produce lactic acid as they break down glucose to create energy. This buildup can lead to muscle fatigue and cramps.

      Electrolyte loss
Sweat produced during exercise can cause a loss of electrolytes and water, which can lead to fatigue and cramps.

      Aging
As people age, their muscles become less efficient, which can lead to a faster rate of fatigue.

      Overuse injuries
Repetitive use of the same parts of the body can lead to microtraumas, or overuse injuries, which can cause muscle fatigue.

Other factors that can contribute to muscle fatigue include:
Depletion of glycogen and phosphocreatine in muscles

Failure of neural transmission at a neuromuscular junction

Abnormal metabolism of intracellular calcium or potassium

Diseases that speed up the depletion of energy stocks within the body

Muscle fatigue can be effectively reversed with a combination of rest, nutrition therapy, and needling therapy.
