If you're asking me why is it in my culture to not arrive on time,
Well it's a simple answer: My Pilipino ancestors worked in agriculture
They used the time to wager what time it was, you estimate lang!
But ancient English had things to finsih on the King's wishlist

This a very nice way of explaining Pinoy time to foreigners. Though they might not agree to it, at least if they are here and would have to meet with friends they will no longer wonder why their friends arrived late.
Note: We only do this if we meet and go out with friends. For official or business purposes and to save yourself from the irritation caused by chronic lateness you should set the meet-up time 1 hour early :)

As a Western traveller, I’ve discovered that there are 4 types of time in the Philippines:
~ Standard time (professionals and students only)
~ Filipino time (the most prevalent type, typically 1 hour late)
~ Indian time (no-show for appointment)
Then there’s Mañana time, so forget about getting things done today.

I have been used to researching Spanish culture as I am practicing Spanish language, and I recently found out that UNPUNCTUALITY is also real to the rest of hispanic world, Spaniards and Latinos alike. Surprisingly they also use similar excuses why they are late 😁😁😁 that we also often use. So I perhaps it is a shared culture among Spain and her former colonies.

When my grandparents say that the meeting time is 7PM they actually meant 6:45PM and to think that I'm Filipino and I'm glad that my grandparents doesn't stick to the Filipino Time tradition.
