Timothy Norrington Hey Timothy. That’s cool. For me it was more about capturing the attitude and character. I mainly played hip-hop, jazz and metal so it was interesting having a go at something a bit different. The speed wasn’t a problem. More just trying to honour the piece and make it work aesthetically. In my defence It was ten years ago and I didn’t know who the AMs were so didn’t have any reference. It was fun though. I think Helders is quite an inventive drummer. - Adam
I wouldn’t say “inventive” a lot of the fills he plays are in a lot of other indie songs or other genres, i have never taught by a teacher how to play drums, but this kind of playing is pretty much basic drumming that most first time drummers get taught how to play, there is nothing really complicated in this song to a pro drummer
@@Thenorthsace I had a 6 hour studio session to figure it out before filming the music video. There were no video references so just worked off a CD. Needed to make it look authentic as the whole film is on the drummer.
He doesn't show off and has relatively smaller drum set and yet he plays so well that just for this reason he is my favourite drum cover guy. And covering Matt Helders isn't easy.Thanx man..really well played.
