Yeah i am winging it on a first go at replacing my transom, the back plate/dam looked like someone took a shot gun to it along with the back plate, bent, concaved bolt holes from someone over tightening them, so i cut some new 1/8 aluminum with the plasma cutter, one dam and one inner piece for the back, I was just thinking about using liquid transom but now watching your video it gives me additional options of just making a complete aluminum transom, issue is i have never tiged b4 even though i own a couple, looks like tomorrow i learn how to tig, cool video complete aluminum transom excellent idea.
nevermind, I just saw this on the website... "Recommended for 60 Horsepower and Under, and at a minimum re-using your factory transom bracket support for the original horsepower rating."
Looking good!!
After making my transom from aluminum, I will never use anything else.
It’s coming along really nice!👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍

I would really struggle with aluminum welding but you did a great job. It’s awesome
You can do it! It’s not that bad.
I have a question do you need that foam?
Yes, it's coming up in two videos.
@TinyBoatNation So why do you need the foam though. More for sound reasons
Do you have an idea of the weight/HP limits of that aluminum transom? Would you feel comfortable putting a 50 or 60 hp 4-stroke engine on it?

We make one for 60 horse. I have a video on it and it works well.
Nice!
Thanks!
Been there done that with a rotted old transom 😮
yeah, sucks doesn't it...
In a way, wasn't it good to see some rotten wood and corrosion when you got it all apart?
Nope, it stinks. We always pray for no damage.
WOW $634??? Not proud of that transom at all are you?
Boats aren’t cheap. People try to make it that way, but whatever.
@ there’s “not cheap” then there’s horribly overpriced. What’s your profit margin on that, 60%
