Bronc riding, either bareback bronc or saddle bronc competition, is a rodeo event that involves a rodeo participant riding on a horse (sometimes called a bronc or bronco) that attempts to throw or buck off the rider. Originally based on the necessary horse breaking skills of a working cowboy, the event is now a highly stylized competition that utilizes horses that often are specially bred for strength, agility, and bucking ability. It is recognized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA).

actually horses kick around 2,000 psi. but im guessing since bucking horses are a bit stronger than regular horses they kick a bit harder

I do my family live on a ranch and they bronc ride, some rodeos yeah there mean but the ones my uncle go to and ride in are perfectly fine

Listen to the noises, look at the whites of the eyes. The wide open mouth these animals are terrified, look at how the tight flank strap squeezes around their waists. Look at how the spurs are slamming into their sides, look at how when some of the horses won’t buck they start hitting them in the face. If u can’t see this i don’t know what to say.

I have an unridable horse I am wanting to get into the rodeo… but where to start.

For those who think the flank straps hurt the horses, it doesn't. It's made out of sheep wool, very soft, and it's like they're being tickled.

They don't like the strap that goes under them close to their back legs
saddle bronc riding is one of my favourite rodeo sport but one problem is there's not enough 90 point rides in companies the only times you get those kind of rides is if you go to big events e.g nfr
