Wow awesome video and so detailed thank you!! Quick question, once you took the rivets out for rear speakers did you use a speaker mount or? Because how did you screw it secure when it’s just blank holes? Thank you!
Hey - so I replaced the speaker with a new set of screws that came with the new box, but you can get either rivet replacements or another set of speaker screws on eBay or Amazon I imagine! Shouldn't be too hard to replace 😊
Just a quick question… I have owned this sub for a while and had it in a few cars that have always had an aftermarket headunit so I use the black RCA cables and the blue remote cable. I have recently purchased a civic type r FK8 so I won’t be changing the headunit as its all built in so I will need to wire it in the same way as you have but have never done it like that before, my question is when you use that speaker grey/white cable that tells the sub when to turn on/off. Can you just connect it to one speaker or do you need to do it with 2 different speakers? My car is a 5 door so it’s going to be a big enough pain running it through the rubber grommet 😅😂
Is it worth replacing rear speakers? Without underseat subwoofer, just rear speakers. The change of sound is noticeable? Im planning to install JBL Club 6522 speakers in front and rear.
Concentrate on front speakers and subwoofer. Rear speakers are less important. You want the sound stage to come from the front of the car. So mid bass drivers and tweeters for the front with a crossover to limit frequency ranges, an amplifier and a subwoofer (active will be less hassle). If you've got budget left, a decent pair coaxials for the rear. A subwoofer will gave you low frequency bass that mid bass drivers and coaxials just can't match and your aftermarket speakers will require an amplifier to get the best of them. With labour, expect to spend £1,500 for a decent in car system.
thank you, been looking for this info for weeks, the rears are the only ones i haven't swapped, waiting for my own under seat sub before pulling panels (I only want to do that once)@@connxr
Btw there trash the vibe hidaway with vibe micro amp sub box fits in wheel well and amp fits behind stereo and hooks up to oem factory stereo job done amense amount of bass
Eh? You think Vibe are gonna pay someone with 180 subs? Paid for it myself and even gave honest feedback that others are better but for the size and deal that I got, I couldn't complain. Don't know how you thought it was a promo 😂
Thanks for sharing this info it’s been really interesting and helpful would be something I would be interested in to save my boot space
Really love ur Vids, not many informative videos about DS3s out there!
Thank you! Glad to hear
really helpful! thanks! cheers from brazil!
Nice job 👍
Hello, for the rear speakers. It says “1 - 2” on the OEM connector. Which is the positive?
Where did you get your carbon fibre centre console for the ds3 performance? Great video 👍
@@RedDogeYT thanks! It was hydro dipped in carbon, so it wasn't original. Turned out quite good in my opinion 💪
@@connxr thanks for the reply! Awesome ill be trying that myself soon 👍🏻
Whered you get that green trim from inside around the wheel and the dash panels?

Never install a positive cable to a woofer without a fuse near the batery, even if the sub has a built in fuse, just play safe with car electronics.
