I like Roxane even though I don't agree with half of the stuff she says, and I honestly thinks she needs better venues than ones like this.
I know whoever this guy was thought he was being cute and fun but I think encouraging people to have their phones out at an authors speaking engagement was rude (as was having his own phone out). Also, the dying laughing at things like "phallet" and the unfunny commentary where he'd cut off Roxane as she was speaking was stupid.
You aren't her pal buddy, and people didn't come to listen to you be her hype man.
