I bathe every few days and etc but I have extremely oily skin and get pimples often in my back and have pimples and blackheads. Try washing with dawn once a week. Dawn dish soap. It helps me but to often will dry you out so maybe once a week it's what I do. Still have oily skin but not nearly as bad as I use too. Very much recommend dawn with Olay if you want to try like twice a week or so
That's because you wash it too much. I recommend you switch to a natural hair soap, or do what I do and just use hot water. At first your hair will get really greasy and nasty, but it'll calm down after a week or so and you'll wonder why you ever used shampoo.

My hair is bleached which has a side effect of controlling oiliness, but it's still oily feeling and looking after a day. I tried what Badatstuff recommends but unfortunately people with my hair type just have oily hair. "You wash it too much" is a myth or only true for people who just don't produce that much oil on their scalp. I'd recommend getting dry shampoo if you want to skip shampooing some days. It's convenient if you're in a hurry and can't shower to wash your hair.

This is true, but we have to remember that we live in a region generally much more humid/damp, cramped and polluted VS most (depending on region) Showers are important for us folks in Singapore (for example) since travelling to and from work every single day in a population density of over 20000 people per square mile, in a country found 128km or so from the equator with extremely high humidity is... well, think about it. Also my skins dries out,and it's a waist of time when I don't need to do it. Unlike the guy in the vid, I think cleanliness is important. It can help kill germs and help improve how your body feels. Ever thought that your hair gets extremely greasy in one day is because you DO shower everyday? You wash all the natural oils out of your hair showering every day and your skin goes into overdrive and starts producing even more oil to make up for what was lost in turn making it greasy. Start showering once every two days, later once every 3 days if needed and you'll see an improvement.
My hair is extreamly long and im forsed to take a shower or my hair gets huge knots and if i dont untangle my hair at least every 2 or e days there will be a huge knot in it, it really hurts untangkeing it and it haves me 1 or 2 hours just to untangle it

doctors actually have said that most of the dirt and grime is on our clothes. Showering everyday isn't necessary depending on the person and life style. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I recommend that women don't wash their hair everyday. Shampoo strips the natural oils that make your hair healthy.

It's not like you climb in the sink and bathe, you lock the door, run the water, and use water, soap, and a paper towel to clean the important parts. The time I had to do it I hit my hands and up my arms to the elbows, my face/neck, and my pits
I have dreadlocks and it is a popular myth that dreadlocks are dirty. I wash my locks every 2 or 3 days and as long as you thoroughly dry them with a hair dryer they don't smell at all. Mine actually smell like patchouli as that's what shampoo I use. They're just as clean as unlocked hair :)
Crazyartmonky don't let it get to you. When you have dreads you have to be prepared for myths. I don't think they meant anything offensive by it but I understand it can upset some people. When people say anything rude about dreadlocks, just politely correct and educate them. It's only because they haven't done any research on dreads that they don't know about them. I don't go by a schedule I just bathe when I feel dirty or smell rotten. It doesn't make sense to bathe every day or every week if your days and weeks are different. One week I may have fallen into a pit of mud, and ran 20 miles. The next week I may never have left the house.
I don't get people who feel a need to shower every single day. I do every other day, or my skin gets super dry really fast. I just use some dry shampoo if my hair is a little flat or not looking to great. I think it was a woman from my country who decided to try not showering or using any products for a month, and she said that her hair was a mess, but her skin had never been better. She actually looked years younger.
I cant go without a daily shower. Sometimes (since i'm a college student) i stay up way late and forget to shower and i just feel like millions of ants are crawling all over me! I'm not happy until I shower.
I'm a 2-3 day washer. I dont roll around in dirt or get sweaty everyday, so there is no reason for me to waste time, resources, and energy washing my not-dirty body. I didnt think about it but theyre right, the dirt comes of with my clothes. Additionally hair isn't supposed to be washed everyday - same affects as skin (becomes dry, etc.) I shower out of pure necessity, not societal convention (daily showering.) I know when I'm dirty or when my hair needs washed, no one else (unless I obviously begin to smell or LOOK dirty, duh.) I wish wash habits were one of those things where, yeah everybody doed it, but thats why there shouldn't be a norm. Everyone is different.

Some people really do shower alot, I stopped taking a shower every day because I have really dry skin. And to be honest, showering 2 or 3 times a week really is enough. Ofcourse if you sweat alot you can rinse your body off, but no need for soap everyday, it makes your skin very dry. To make sure your hair doesn't get greasy you shouldn't use any hairproducts (except shampoo) on your roots. Conditioner and hairmasks make your hair soft and shiny, but it's makes it greasy as well. Ofcourse, if you like to shower everyday you should do that. This is just a tip for people who easily get dry skin or greasy hair. You should consider trying it out, it really worked for me.

I shower 2 to 3 times a week since I suffer from eczema my dermatologist told me the same thing about it over drying my skin and it's true my skin has been much healthier plus it helps that I don't have bad BO!
Ryan Oliver yes sorry i dont suffer from it anymore actually i used to have it really really bad for about a year and half .But now i hardly ever get flare ups and when they do they are very small.

What has really helped me is always drinking water staying hydrate all day and always keep your skin moisturized also i use this cream called Metaderm i recommend it really look it up on Amazon its not expensive :D
I shower every other day. Letting the hair sit for a day and the natural oils do their thing is important to keeping it moisturized. Plus, guys, deodorant/antiperspirant is your friend. Doesn't matter if it says 48 hours, put it on every morning.
Stephen McNaire Actually, your hair produces oils in proportion to the demand for them. How often you wash your hair is how often you need to wash your hair because that's what it gets used to. You might genetically be predisposed to oiler hair but you could 'train' your hair and stretch it out longer if you wanted to, though you'd have to find a style that partly disguised how greasy your hair was at first, and you'd have a harder time of this than someone genetically predisposed to less oily hair who showers daily.
My friends give me some serious flak for this. I call the days I don't my "every other days" and I usually wear a beanie so nobody can tell how greasy my hair is.
Link, I highly recommend you resist the urge to challenge yourself to not shower for 30 days. I once had a neighbor who also challenged himself to not shower for 30 days. But when he finally completed the challenge, he forgot how to open the bathroom's shower door and died.

Speak for yourself. I train BJJ and Muay Thai boxing along with strength and agility work outs daily. If I don't shower every day then yeah, I am going to get very dirty.
If you have a demanding hobby or work then yes then you have to shower, but we deskmonkeys and other low fysical workers don't have to do it every day. Also everytime you shower you have to wash your clothes or the shower could have been in vain.

Well, I shower in the morning for two reasons. One: Because I won't remember to do it at night. Two: I'm scared of just about everything, if I showered at night then I would be to scared to wash my hair properly. Not to mention look in the mirror afterwards.

Showers are important for us folks in Singapore (for example) since travelling to and from work every single day in a population density of over 20000 people per square mile, in a country found 128km or so from the equator with extremely high humidity is... well, think about it.
When I lived in Canada (Vancouver specifically), I shower once every 3-4 days or so during winter, just washing my face in the mornings and before going to bed, showering daily only during the heat wave of 2009's summer

Mainly because if u shower too much some of the shampoo can cause flakes in your hair.
Also my skins dries out,and it's a waist of time when I don't need to do it.
Unlike the guy in the vid, I think cleanliness is important. It can help kill germs and help improve how your body feels. Like when I'm sick, I love a nice hot shower or bath to relax my aching body. Also it can help with congestion (the steam) and with runny or stuffy noses.

I shower at least once every day. I can't go without a shower because my long hair becomes extremely greasy if I don't. Sometimes I take two showers in a day, because I will wake up, take a shower, go somewhere, come home, exercise, need another shower. Or it is extremely cold, I can't sleep unless I take a hot shower, because my parents don't want to use the heater. And I like feeling clean. I don't have dry/cracked skin.
Ever thought that your hair gets extremely greasy in one day is because you DO shower everyday? You wash all the natural oils out of your hair showering every day and your skin goes into overdrive and starts producing even more oil to make up for what was lost in turn making it greasy. Start showering once every two days, later once every 3 days if needed and you'll see an improvement.

But if you're clean and you get a cut, it's very unlikely to get infected. If you brush your teeth, you won't get cavities and/or gum disease. doctors actually have said that most of the dirt and grime is on our clothes. Showering everyday isn't necessary depending on the person and life style. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I recommend that women don't wash their hair everyday. Shampoo strips the natural oils that make your hair healthy.

I have dreadlocks and it is a popular myth that dreadlocks are dirty. I wash my locks every 2 or 3 days and as long as you thoroughly dry them with a hair dryer they don't smell at all. Mine actually smell like patchouli as that's what shampoo I use. They're just as clean as unlocked hair :)

When people say anything rude about dreadlocks, just politely correct and educate them. It's only because they haven't done any research on dreads that they don't know about them. I don't go by a schedule I just bathe when I feel dirty or smell rotten. It doesn't make sense to bathe every day or every week if your days and weeks are different. One week I may have fallen into a pit of mud, and ran 20 miles. The next week I may never have left the house.
I don't get people who feel a need to shower every single day. I do every other day, or my skin gets super dry really fast. I just use some dry shampoo if my hair is a little flat or not looking to great.
I think it was a woman from my country who decided to try not showering or using any products for a month, and she said that her hair was a mess, but her skin had never been better. She actually looked years younger.

I'm a 2-3 day washer. I dont roll around in dirt or get sweaty everyday, so there is no reason for me to waste time, resources, and energy washing my not-dirty body. I didnt think about it but theyre right, the dirt comes of with my clothes.
Additionally hair isn't supposed to be washed everyday - same affects as skin (becomes dry, etc.) I shower out of pure necessity, not societal convention (daily showering.) I know when I'm dirty or when my hair needs washed, no one else (unless I obviously begin to smell or LOOK dirty, duh.)
I wish wash habits were one of those things where, yeah everybody doed it, but thats why there shouldn't be a norm. Everyone is different.

Some people really do shower alot, I stopped taking a shower every day because I have really dry skin. And to be honest, showering 2 or 3 times a week really is enough. Ofcourse if you sweat alot you can rinse your body off, but no need for soap everyday, it makes your skin very dry. To make sure your hair doesn't get greasy you shouldn't use any hairproducts (except shampoo) on your roots. Conditioner and hairmasks make your hair soft and shiny, but it's makes it greasy as well. Ofcourse, if you like to shower everyday you should do that. This is just a tip for people who easily get dry skin or greasy hair. You should consider trying it out, it really worked for me.

I shower 2 to 3 times a week since I suffer from eczema my dermatologist told me the same thing about it over drying my skin and it's true my skin has been much healthier plus it helps that I don't have bad BO!

Ryan Oliver Thank you! honestly props to you i know that can be very hard when id get flare ups and scratch at night and end up with bloody sheets its not a fun thing to deal with but yes i learned to be strong and move on and not let it control your life! What has really helped me is always drinking water staying hydrate all day and always keep your skin moisturized also i use this cream called Metaderm i recommend it really look it up on Amazon its not expensive :D

I shower every other day. Letting the hair sit for a day and the natural oils do their thing is important to keeping it moisturized. Plus, guys, deodorant/antiperspirant is your friend. Doesn't matter if it says 48 hours, put it on every morning.

Stephen McNaire Actually, your hair produces oils in proportion to the demand for them. How often you wash your hair is how often you need to wash your hair because that's what it gets used to. You might genetically be predisposed to oiler hair but you could 'train' your hair and stretch it out longer if you wanted to, though you'd have to find a style that partly disguised how greasy your hair was at first, and you'd have a harder time of this than someone genetically predisposed to less oily hair who showers daily.
My friends give me some serious flak for this. I call the days I don't my "every other days" and I usually wear a beanie so nobody can tell how greasy my hair is.

I don't really understand the concept of morning showers unless you take one in the evening as well.. it's so disgusting, after a long (and sweaty) day spent in your clothes you just jump into your PJs and go to sleep? ew
well then I am a disgusting girl because I only shower every other morning.

I know it makes no sense, I have to shower every night to feel even remotely clean.

Well, I shower in the morning for two reasons.
One: Because I won't remember to do it at night.
Two: I'm scared of just about everything, if I showered at night then I would be to scared to wash my hair properly. Not to mention look in the mirror afterwards.

I take a shower every night. Without fail. In fact, I'm typing this at night, after I took a shower.
I shower every other day, unless I exercise a lot or swim or something. I always shower after those sort of things
