- On this day we visit La Parguera in Lajas, Puerto Rico. This place is also known for its bioluminescent bay. Unfortunately, we didn't visit the bay at night, but hope to in the future. You can rent a boat here to take you to one of the other small islands.

Ovi I did go there many years ago. It was night time. i was so scared I refused to put my hand in the water. Just took the boat ride and prayed that there was nothing that would harm me in there. The bioluminescent boat ride there is so much fun. I went when I was pregnant with the family. Also..I had a major craving for caldo de gallina...jaja I remember we couldn't find it..except for one Kiosko. I will never forget how nice those people were to me♡

It is a nice place and I want to return at night for the bioluminescent boat ride. Soon.
My mother is the one who sells the tickets for it, it’s really pretty especially when the divers would go in and do tricks under the glowing water

This was an amazing video OVI thanks for sharing. This is one of my favorite places and since you said that you're going back I highly recommend a boat tour and nighttime so you can see and experience the luminescent bay or you can take a cruise on one of those big boats with a glass bottom or acrylic bottom so you can see all the fish an underwater views which are beautiful. They have some little boats that will give you a tour at night time I took my whole family out on one of those and in the middle of the Bay late at night they asked if anybody in the boat wanted to jump in the water and before he finished his sentence I was already in it felt awesome not knowing what was around me and swimming in the dark. If you get a chance to go back try empanadillas de chapin👌🤤.

@@oviduran the first time i was at the bio-bay, they took us out in this small motor boat. Scared the hell out of us when they took off. but once we were out there we were able to touch the water and swim in it if we wanted to. The second time was on a glass bottom boat and the experience was not as good as the first time. Much better to be closer to the water and touch it. I heard that the bio-bays were getting their glow back, not sure if thats true. I've heard about the one in Fajardo, but the only way out there is by kayak, i dont want to have to do any rowing, so i dont have any interest in that one.
@@oviduran thank you ovi , great videos , I still have major mixed emotions about the island after experiencing too many issues with family , neighbors , and even strange behaviors of locals ! I was trying to get involved into liking the place but found myself lost with time and not being able to pick up the pieces … Sorry to say how family and culture behaviors can rip a person apart , cause of hate ,jealousy envy ..Till this day I was able to enjoy the island without feeling fears , paranoia from others and just odd stares and too many azz holes ! Haven’t been able to travel the towns and just be able to work and travel like others .. thanks for the vids

Hey Ovi !! Loved the drone footage. You seem completely happy in Puerto Rico. When you retire will you and the family move there ? When are you going to take your son to PR ? Keep the videos coming, we all love how you tell the stories of the different cities you visit and the beaches and restaurants.
Nicky, when I retire I will visit more often for longer periods of time. But not move because all my grandchildren are in the states and my wife wants to remain close to them. I don't have a son, but I do have grandsons. The child in my TH-cam picture is my grandson. That photo was taken seven years ago and I never changed it. He is seven now. Saludos.
Stayed there once and visited about 3 times. The last time 2 weeks before Maria we stayed at La Jamaca hotel. The area around the Plaza got better they built that building you were in taking shots maybe 2 1/2 yrs ago. There's a great Pork restaurant near the Sabana grande exit off of route 2. Love the posts and love PR! Went there almost by accident 12 yrs ago. I was supposed to go to Fl but the weather was cold there and was able to switch to PR and have been going every year since. My good friend lives in Humacao. He was born there moved to the states for 40 yrs and went back after he retired.

Ovi why don't you set up a tour of Puerto Rico like for a week. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested. I lot of people would like to see these beauty full Gem called Puerto Rico and they don't want to be scammed. Do it Puerto Rican style with a lots of love. Good food, good company. A great fruitful business for you. We all have so much trust in you.
Piri, that's a great idea. It does require some planning, but doable. Maybe that is something I can tackle in two years when I retire and visit the island more often and for longer periods of time. Thanks and have a great weekend.

@@oviduran Fantastic. And talking about tours, I was up until recently a tour bus driver here in New York. I was driving 40 and 56 passenger buses. Now i'm back to jumping turnstiles. LOL
So easy to do it yourself. Just rent a car, No issues with scamming. Like everywhers there are jerks but overall nice honest people.

Thanks for sharing. Question? If you had to pick a town to live in on PR , what town and why? I am interested in a property. Looking for something inexpensive ( a fixer upper).....for vacations and retirement place to stay in as a snowbird ( someone who lives in a cold climate and goes to warmer weather for the winter).....for you people that are wondering what a snowbird is LOL......
I personally like the mountains, in any town, because it's isolated and quiet. I could live up there, but my wife would not. She likes the big towns and cities. It's a matter of personal preference. You may want to visit zillow.com for homes for sale on the entire island. I hear there are many homes all over for reasonable prices.
I recommend Moca, San Sebastian, Aguada, Isabela, Aguadilla, Rincon, or other any town in the west side of PR.
I personally love to live in urbanizaciones, where houses recieve almost 0 to no damage during & after hurricanes, where neighbors are closed to each other. Urbs are very family/kid friendly places to live, they are usually peaceful & most have their own basketball courts, baseball field, kids playground and building to celebrate events like birthdays, etc. & more. Neighbors usually make house birthdays or neighborhood parties and it's a lot of fun. In mine, some neighbors used to take out a huge plasma tv outside for everyone to see, everytime there was a huge boxing fight (especially from Tito, Cotto, etc) or just do a street party for all the neighbors or bring a parranda from las mascaras tradition, where lots of big trucks would come to the urb. (usually at 11pm/12am or later) and stop in the middle of the street with music, dancing, food and more, those were things I enjoyed so much as a kid. Lol I got so nostalgic.

When we were In Rincon.. this past September, we did a lot of driving around on very rural mountainous roads & the homes were basically built right into the sides of the Hills. Are you talking about areas like that? Please share Where there was "No Damage after Maria?" That would be a place I am definitely interested! While we were outside of Rincon we pretty much encountered no English speaking peolpe.. Sure was a difficult situation due to the fact that... We knew very little Spanish.😟 Luckily We were staying at the Villa Cofresi where most everyone did. We were so used to being in San Juan, where there was NO Real language barrier, that we just assumed it would be like that on the whole island. It was not! *My husband will probably want to comment again and ask you more questions! LOL! Thanks again for such a detailed comment, It's much Appreciated! 😁

We will learn to speak fluent Spanish.. So we are just looking for the most laid back areas in PR.. We Absolutely Do Not want to be in the cities! Most of all.. We Don't want to be in an area where we feel isolated and alone.. However we love the mountains.. Hoping to find a special close knit community.. Where we won't be veiwed as Outsiders.. Are there any areas you recommend Staying Away from? Thanks again, for All your time! :-)
