As a Brit .Hot buttered toast with baked beans on top, maybe a bit of H.P sauce and sometimes sprinkle of grated cheese.cracked black pepper.
Marmite
I have a local source for HP sauce in western Washington State… great stuff.
I was looking for this thread👍👍
I like Stilton Cheese on top.
What is H P sauce?
@@pamelakossakoski4312 It's similar to A1 steak sauce but has more fruit and Worcestershire in it so it's got a bit zesty tang to it and not as sweet.
This was a "the food money ran out til next month" meal of my childhood.lol
We would have hamburger soup. Broth with a few pieces of hamburger, carrots and potato. Even as a kid I knew something was amiss when we were served this broth.
As a british man of 53 years , that toast looked a little pale , its supposed to light to dark brown , crunch and hot. Butter optional, then the beans. If you are of sheffield birth then you can add hendersons relish for extra kick😊
yess but butter is only good if vegan of course 😊
nowhere near Sheffield, but got access to great amounts of hendersons relish and totally agree. bread needs to be toasted until golden on both sides, buttered, and the beans poured on top. and the hendesons goes into the pan with the beans. I like to add a small amount of grated cheese on top too.
I'll be honest - I hated baked beans until I was forced to eat them about 25 years ago. adding cheese made it more palatable.
if there'd been a bit of panneer on that, Chaudhrey would've gone rogue and wanted more and would've thrown the desk and headed for the kitchen quicker than you can say 'chicken tikka massala' 🤣
wait until they find out that they do curried baked beans - _mind blown_ 🤣🤣🤣
@Cassxowary Bollocks!
I mean maybe they don’t have a toaster 🤷🏼♀️
Y'all really just eat beans on toast? Are they homemade beans or canned ones? I want to try it, but want to do it the right way. 😊
did they give up on ONLY on American Food ? lmao
After yesterday's comments section, it doesn't surprise me. Lots of unhappy people, but I understand why. 🤷🏼♀️
@@bobbiejojackson9448yes, sadly hypocrisy is especially prevalent there
variety is good, and they’ve only done US&canada in that series at least so far
This is probably recorded previously
I hope so, because eating nothing but a huge plate of fries for a day is NOT healthy.
I'm American. I've never heard of beans on toast. What kind of beans would you put on toast and how would you flavor it? I do eat white bread with beans. Usually white beans and ham. I suppose you could pour that over toast but I would prefer corn bread. I think I'll go make corn bread right now. Corn bread and chocolate brownies if I have to turn the oven on. Maybe I'll just eat the brownies and call it a day:-)
It's heinz beans they are coated in tomato sauce and then ye can also add grated cheese and make a cheesey beano. As for them mentioning onions and spices we only put a tin of beans over the toast 😋 and cheese!!! Always mind the cheese 🧀 . Peace ✌️ n respect tae ye
so you’d ruin it with bad stuff because you’re from the country that believes to be the whole landmass, got it…
@@Mhor_Alyou mean vegan cheese then, because you can’t mean dairy then wish others peace…
@Mhor_Al Some of the canned bean brands have a version with onions. I believe that the Bush's brand offers one with chopped onions and they have others with smoked meats (brisket) or with jalapenos , etc. 😊
@@Cassxowary Vegan cheese is NOT cheese; it is condensed plant squeezings. Some vegans are such annoying elitists.
Baked beans on toast are popular in Australia too - but not with onions. And the bread should be toasted until it's crisp and brown, then buttered before the heated beans are placed on top. Finish with a dash of black pepper. Yum 😋
that's beans on bread😂....
Heinz beans are good for your heart

I love beans on buttered toast.
as long as the butter is vegan😊 otherwise you need to learn what love means
@@Cassxowary no I don’t use vegan butter. I take you do though and glad you enjoy it.
I wonder if they would enjoy Mexican beans. Refried? Charro? Borracha? So many different kinds of beans in that country. The choice of bread would be a flour tortilla instead of Nan.
You should get them to taste black beans soup cuban style. With a side of rice or some bread for dipping. I bet they have never seen black beans and the taste will blow them away.
I love black beans! First introduced to them via Cuban food. Now I put them in my chili because they are the only beans that don't dissolve over the hours in a slow cooker when I make chili.
I am always impressed by how much these men know, and how they always are thinking of their children and the children’s health.
I love beans on toast and these guys were so polite on such a simple dish that we grew up with here in the UK x
American here…nicely toasted bread with some color on it, buttered, next a slice of American cheese, HEINZ beans (yeah, it makes a difference!!), a splash of Worcestershire sauce…and you have a heavenly meal!!! Thanks to Great Britain for masterminding this dish. 🇬🇧
Eww American cheese wtf
@@solalexander674 it melts nicely, and it tastes good.
You need to try it with cheddar or red leicester if you can source either. You will thank me later

Lots of ways to doctor up a can of beans. A dash of Lee&Perins and some English style pickled onions are nice too.
you need to toast the bread on both sides so it's brown....the bread wasn't toasted and the beans looked stodgy and cold....Give them a tin of Heinz baked Beans and toast the bread properly x sorry guys....but us Brits are fussy about our 'beans on toast' lol..!! xx
Are you sh#tting me dude?these are very poor people,hell I can't afford Heinz beans and I'm not a villager😅
What do they mean onions? there shouldn't be any onions
Some canned beans have a bit of chopped onion in them.
Not in the uk!
@@andrewroberts9987 They're not in the UK.
@@bobbiejojackson9448no.. but they’re supposedly trying British beans on toast
nope not in heinz beans which are no1 in Britain@@iandeare1
I love the villagers reactions to British food. Much better than listening to the Americans critics by referring to it as jail food.
American jails have a bad reputation but we're not that cruel
Gulsher, was quite correct. Beans on toast is a very quick Breakfast, Lunch or Afternoon tea (when kids get home from school). Open a tin of beans, a round of buttered toast, a cup of tea, and you are done. 🍞 🫖☕👩👦👦
I'd run away from home.
As an American, I have never heard of beans and toast. Sounds more British to me
That's what they said.
They literally said at the beginning that it was British.

To all the confused Americans, this is a British dish. Nowhere did they say this was American.
This is exactly why the Brits had to bring masala back to England from India, English “cuisine” is just survival food lmao
And the tomato sauce and beans are from the Americas.
Im American and Ive eaten buttered toast with chili before many times.....dip it in...its actually really tasty...lol
Love these videos..gives me hope when there's so much shit going on in the world..end the day we are all the same..we like trying food from around the world ✌️🇬🇧
The best way to cook baked beans is with a dollop of butter and a sprinkle of sugar. Simmer until reduced and the beans start breaking up. My mum called it sticky beans. Absolutely stellar
Right!
Beans on toast for tea today!! 😋😋😋
Two slices of brown toast, Branston beans on one slice and a fried egg on the other makes a perfect breakfast.
The Heinz factory that produces their beans is just down the lane from me, the largest food processing plant in Europe.
As a Norwegian with lots of colleagues of Pakistani culture, I find it curious that most of them seem to only heat the bread in the toaster, almost never toast the bread until it gets any color from "extra baking" as it were. My personal experience with toast is that you get the best amount of grilling by halting the toaster just before the loaf edges start to get zinged. I can only guess that it might be a cultural phenomenon.
Italians call it "biscotti," or twiced cooked lol.
I'm Canadian and when I was a child if my father had to cook, this was dinner. He always made it with maple syrup and burnt the toast.
Love these guys❤
Why wasn't the bread toasted?!
From what I've seen in other videos where they were served something that called for toast, it's always like that. I don't think they have a toaster so they just lightly pan fry the bread in a little butter or ghee instead. Sandwich bread and toast aren't really in their traditional cuisine. They eat paratha and roti and naan instead.
@@bobbiejojackson9448 Pan toasted bread is still brown from toasting. The bread they had was soft, right out of the package.
@@toolbaggers That's why I said that they "pan fry" it. I cook. A lot. It's pretty obvious to me that they just put a tiny bit of oil or ghee in a hot pan and "fry" the bread in it for (maybe) about 30 seconds a side. The corners absorb the oil and the rest of the slice is still soft and unchanged. It seems like that's their idea of what toast is supposed to be. I'm not saying that it's properly toasted. Far from it. It's harder to see it in this video, but if you watch some of their other videos where toast was a part of the dish they were served, you can see it more clearly. The full English breakfast and the club sandwich videos come to mind at the moment.
I want to see them try the American S.O.S. 😊
That bread was NOT toasted. This is definitely a British thing.
I may have misread your comment but we definitely toast our bread here in Britain if we make beans on toast.
I guess the American food series is over.
I love beans on toast!! 🍒🧿Very yummy✌️🥰
My cupboards would have to be close to bare for me to prepare that as a meal or snack.
Poached eggs on top and HP sauce mixed in the beans.
my new fave youtube channel
Baked Beans on Toast is a big British staple for breakfast. ----------- Hey food server, when you set the plate of food down please set the plates down gently like a gentleman in front of them instead of sliding it across the table and making that loud obnoxious scratching noise.
I am a 64 year-old American.. and can say I have never had beans on toast. For a real treat try a "horseshoe". This is a mid-west US food. It is a layered meal that starts with toast, hamburger, french fries, then smothered in a yummy cheese sauce.
I need to go to D'Arcy's Pint for some of their famous horseshoes lol!
It's more of a UK thing. I'm in Scotland and it was a regular childhood snack for us. If we were very lucky we'd get the beans with the little sausages in them.
Yes! that is a great place to eat! @@HensOnly
Have you ever had Mexican food? Well there you have had beans on tortilla?
I'm US so it doesn't appeal to me. Maybe some beans with some little cracker. Or best yet some refried black beans with flour tortilla.@@jonnydarkfang2816
They made the beans sound really flavourful - I'm wondering whether they came out of a tin or if they were cooked specially.
I always chuck a bit of curry powder in my beans
Love those beans, but always had them w/ meat; Pork & Beans, Franks & Beans, etc.
What onions 😂😂😂
You have to toast the bread for it to be toast.

As a British person, this made me happy 😂😂🩷🩷 all my Indian and Pakistani friends make fun of me for British people having flavorless food so its nice to see them enjoying
Beans, beans the musical fruit the more you eat the more you toot.
First time I had beans for breakfast is when we had joint military training exercises with the Royal Welsh Yeoman Div. with the UK Armed Forces....back in the 70's and 80's. Beans on toast were really the early western version of the now-a-days popular Mexican Bean Burrito.
Despite the name I always put the toast to one side to prevent it from becoming soggy. Glad they enjoyed it. One of our classic Sunday night teas as a kid.
The finest British cuisine.
This is a simple easy meal that doesn’t cost 💲 a lot of money
Living in the U.S. all my life, I have never seen beans for breakfast. They never served it to me in the Navy either. What's for lunch, blood pudding?
I have never heard of this 😮. Love to all ❤❤❤
Gulsher looks like he owns a palace with horses.

How about a Balochi version of TH-cam' Good Mythical Morning?!❤
I have never tried this .. ...the British people swear its deliscious.
It's quite nice especially with scrambled eggs.
@@brokeandtired Scrambled eggs _and_ beans on toast sounds a bit odd to me. For me it's always one or the other (or cheese) on toast, though I guess both would work as well.
My favourite toast dish is roasted cheese with a poached egg on top salt and pepper, has to eaten immediately...and repeated.
I agree! What happened to the American food? What is needed is a plate of Chili Dogs with relish and cheese. That would be American (Kosher Beef of course!!)
The bread slices should be of a thicker cut, and something other than plain white bread.
The beans should be prepared with a hint of mustard, and some molasses.
The integral element is HP sauce on the side. Because it has tamarind, these folks would love it. It seems as though the folks that prep the food for these videos assume the word "toast"
is a synonym for sliced bread.
a bit of cheese in the beans marmite on the toast sorted
Toast is brown and crunchy , but that was warm bread 😂

The British conquered the world for spices and never learned how to use any of them😂
Truly made me laugh out loud🤣
Typical smoothbrain comment lol. The 1940s called and they want their US propaganda against its allies back

love this, so good and healthy! your sweet load of protein and stuff for the day! but the bread needs to be toasted, this is just beans on bread not toast lol but glad they enjoyed and have a great week!
It HAS to be proper Heinz Vegetarian Beanz (with a Z) in tomato sauce. . .not any type of Boston baked beans with molasses/sugar or meat. And it should be sloppier, lots of sauce running off VERY DARK toast. . .eat with fork/spoon. . .not so you can pick it up like a sandwich.
no, not meat, but otherwise yes
they use what they can though
Vegetarian beans? Since when are beans and tomato sauce anything but vegetables? Seems a tad superfluous to label it so except to appease to vegan snobs. What next, vegetarian green salad, tree hugger toilet paper?
@@MarcusBritish Because in America, beans almost always have pork. And it's sweet.
And the Z stands for zed, not zee.
no knife and fork? Go posh by topping with grated cheese
That toast looked very anaemic. Surely, to be "toast" it has to be toasted (browned). And real beans on toast needs to be eaten with a knife and fork, otherwise its a baked bean sandwich.
Beans beans are good for your heart, the more you eat the more you fart Beans beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot
From the sound of their bites, I'd say this is more beans-on-bread. 🤣😝 They didn't get the real thing!
Well, now I know what to eat tomorrow. I am out of tortillas, so toast it is.
To all the confused Americans, this is a British dish. Nowhere did they say this was American.
Please get a real toaster. Toasters have been a staple of kitchens for more than 100 years. Putting bread in a frying pan is not toasting.
They could better use a (contact) grill. It's more versatile than a one use toaster. Toast is nor really a thing in Pakistan, so I can understand why they haven't got one. But a grill works for hamburgers also for instance and other meats and also for toast.
@@telebubba5527 Maybe toast is not a thing in Pakistan, but the creators should be aware of what a toaster does and what putting bread in a frying pan does. If they are reading the comments on the video, the next time anything with "toasted bread" gets made on the channel, the bread must be actually toasted using the proper device, not "fried in a frying pan". If the bread doesn't come out almost like rusk, i.e. a crispy, crunchy bread (rusk is something Pakistan does know about), then the bread isn't toasted.
Yeah that's beans on bread. You need to put bread in a toaster to make toast!
Maybe if I'm starving.
Heinz baked beans🤗✌️💫✨🧿
❤️❤️❤️
I like my beans on toast with Tony c's or hot sauce
That bread looked nasty. Needed to be toasted more.😮
When I cook/eat (baked) beans they have to be red hot. I've never eaten cold baked beans.
One of my fav things. Please, next time, actually toast the bread. Goes very well with a soft-boiled egg too.
I wish I had the money to send them one, but they really need a proper toaster. Any time they've served something that called for toast, you can kinda see where they attempt to pan fry the bread in some oil or ghee, because it'll be just barely golden at the corners and soft everywhere else. 🤷🏼♀️
Toast?? That's your idea of toast?? That's beans on BREAD.
You are obviously correct. However, I once stayed at a b'n'b in London where they
refused to toast the bread in the morning because electricity was too expensive!
They only served marmalade to put on the bread, so I headed to a pub for lunch.
They called it beans on toast as well but not toasted to firm.
Dont you worry. you got my voice everyday :)
Looks like they have made it to tribal taste! Must be better than the original western style!
It is! The subcontinent has many, many types of legumes. I know of at least 30 and there are probably more. And there are so many ways to prepare them!
Beans on bread?? Nah bro.
Yeah bro ☺️
I can honestly say that I have never had beans and toast.
I wish Britain had leaders like this tbh. Our leaders hate everyone who lives here
Since when do we spice our beans.
It's a lunchtime thing and we never have onions?!!? Sounds nice though 😄
I think they dashed some dry chopped chives over it, per the thumbnail. I do that sometimes... they might just be calling it onion because it's similar tasting?
@@MarcusBritish I see but its not typical.
