      Thanks for watching and commenting. I've used mine a few times since making the video and I still think it's a good choice for quarter acre or less.

    Thanks again Sir Gregory. i bought one of these yesterday and spent an hour or so cutting up some maunuka /hardwood timber for firewood. From the getgo this was an amazing machine - cutting through some pretty thick trunks like butter. The chain never loosened and it felt like the saw hadn't even warmed up by the time i'd finished. Very powerful and extremely well balanced. Highly recommended and great value for money.

      My view is electric chain saws have one big advantage over petrol. Max torque is at zero revs, whereas petrol you have to rev the guts out of them to get max power. Same deal with electric hedgers. Quiet and easy to manage. Thanks for commenting.

    Thanks for this great review. Looked at one of these over here in NZ Bunnings today and really liked the look and feel and price. there have been some complaints about the chain tightener coming lose. I notice you kept some tension on the chain with your hand as you tightened up the rotational tightener/lock - is this the way to make sure the tension is locked in? Have you had any probs with the chain loosening as you work? much appreciated - as i am pretty sure I'll buy one.

      I've only used it a few times for branches breaking off those large trees hanging over our backyard. All I do is check the bar lube and turn it on. I've had no problems with the chain tension. I'm pleased my review was useful. Cheers.

    Thanks for the informative review.
    I've had my eye on this same chainsaw for some time now.
    This purchase will complete my gardening tool collection.
    Might have to Click & Collect from Bunnings tomorrow.
    Cheers.

    thanks mate, very helpful and going to purchase after viewing your video. Have been on the fence and have borrowed a friend's petrol chainsaw, went to use the other day and it didn't want to start.
    Only borrowed because I was unsure of electric and how to chain tension, good video.👍👍

      My pleasure. One tip I forgot to include was this... if it won't start then check the chain brake. It caught me out, and I nearly took it back to Bunnings before I realised what the problem was. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Have to ask did you save up the dog 💩 for the video finale or do you have a lot of dogs 😁

    I purchased this exact model. Do you have any idea what file size I would need to sharpen the chain? The instruction manual doesn't have this information.

    • @SirGregory
      @SirGregory  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, can't help you with that. I sharpened saw chains a long time ago using a small jig that clamped to the bar, but I think I'll just buy a new chain if this one goes blunt. I don't use the saw much so the current chain might see me out.

    I bought one with soare chain, 1 litre of chain oil and a fancy Stihl sharpener to top 6 conifers. A few monthes later I cut I sliced two 4 foot long 1 foot thick pine logs for axing and last weekend I sharpened the blade to trim a hedge. I'd cut six 3 inch branches and it died in a puff of smoke. I still have a third of a lire of oil left. Don't buy spend the extra and get a small Stihl or Husky or you'll end up getting one later anyway
