In regards to Tam, Commander Vonreg was killed (as we were shown). Meaning, if he truly didn’t survive, it’s plausible that she could become the next Vonreg. To the very least a Special Forces Tie Pilot
I would LOVE to see the Colossus end up in Chiss space, and meeting up with an elderly Thrawn, alongside Ezra and Sabine (and their kid), possibly with a VERY old Ashoka. Somehow I could see Thrawn and Ezra becoming friends after years lost in the Unknown regions, and when they're found by Ashoka and Sabine, maybe working together with the Chiss against...something. It would be a good way to bring some sort of Jedi action in (because why would Disney not look for an excuse for lightsabers eventually), and bring some closure to the Rebels cast.
after hearing this Q and A i can't help but think of something Leia thought in Bloodline on how when she was Kaz's age (well Korr's age in the book), she was risking her life on a daily basis working against the empire and doing life threatening missions while 16 and 17 year olds now are doing internships and have nothing crazy to worry about.
Kaz's training is as a pilot and he is a very competent one. He doesn't seem like the ideal candidate for a spy but the fact that he is trustworthy outweighs most other criteria and he will have to learn as he goes along . Actual pilots have little to no weapons training outside of basic training, this doesn't make them any less use full as their time is better used training for their actual job. The new republic doesn't necessarily have bad training. The prolonged peace time simply created a lack of veterans and combat experienced personnel and I'm pretty sure the new republic doesn't go around invading planets so its forces can keep an ''edge''. Maybe the new republic forces, combined with the head in the sand way of looking at things, are more of a security army sort of how the naboo where not ready to defend against the trade federations army. There is a limit to what training and practice can do without real life experience.

Now that Captain Doza has seen Kaz's potential, and not to mention worked so closely with him when it came to saving the station, do you think he will allow Team Fireball to live in the tower with the rest of the Aces from now on? All the secrets they had during the beginning of the season are gone, and the, "three degrees of separation," between Team Fireball and Doza/the Aces, (and everyone else that lives and works in the tower,) is gone by the end. Shouldn't Team Fireball have earned themselves a better living situation within the Colossus?
I really hope we don't go straight to episode 9, I'm hoping resistance will fill in a time jump because the sequel trilogy is gonna lose a lot of its kick when you realise the whole thing takes place over a week...So I'm really holding out we get at least a 3 year jump.
I think Resistance had a stronger first season, the story just seems much more cohesive. Rebels sets up a lot of things that just get completely ignored until the end. To each his own, though

Kaz's dad refers to the Resistance negatively as "those extremists?" and doesn't acknowledge that the First Order attacked Kaz so I think it's very likely that he's going to be a First Order sympathiser and actually, just a part of the First Order now that the Republic is gone.
If Resistance is going to have a long life (at least a few seasons) how do you see Season 2 getting into Episode 9? I think Episode 9 should be the end of the story and not rely on Resistance to finish it off. I can see there being 3 seasons pre episode 9 assuming there is a big enough time jump. Else I could only see them feasibly running 2 seasons.
That's totally true and what I thought as well. I think that they will have two seasons in the time jump and then the last one will tie in with episode IX kinda like rebels. And clone wars
He didn’t start doing that until later on in the season, though. Kaz was sent to the Colossus in the first place to find a spy, before Doza started getting pushed around by the First Order.
Listening to this video has given an idea. What if one, or two episodes before the mid-season finale, Kaz and the rest of the Colossus meets up with Shriv and Zay who take them back to D'Qar only to find the base in ruins and the derelict Fulminatrix in orbit. There they find a clue on a hidden outpost area of the planet that survived the blast that may potentially help lead them to rest of the Resistance for the mid-season finale. I would say something like this would be around 1 to 4 months after TLJ and is still just a theory but I find it to be an interesting possibility.

Something I thought about with Tam, she defended the Empire as her grandfather worked in a factory to put food on the table. She should know the Empire destroyed Alderaan. So I wonder if she sticks with the First Order even though they destroyed Hosnian Prime. I think it would be more interesting if she becomes an antagonist rather than to come back into the fold.
I wonder how the resistance will rebuilt now that their allies have deserted them and did the republic built any new warships after the demiliterization treaty
I really wish that they were at least as strong as the rebels, since some of the remnants of the republic might follow the resistance in 9, but I wouldnt have too high hopes about it.

Most likely yes, since this all is happening as Starkiller base is being attacked, and Phasma "dies" soon after Starkiller base blows up, there isn't a really a way to put Phasma in Resistance without her suriving.

I expect the first couple of episodes of season 2 to be concurrent with TLJ. The rest of season 2 even after the release of episode IX could all be lead up to episode IX.
But if Kaz’s father was someone we saw in season 1 Kaz would have recognized him and visa versa. If he didn’t appear other than that one time, why would they need to scramble the image even if setting up that twist?
Why do people want them to meet up with Ezra and Thrawn and why do they think there in the unknown regions? There is no evidence they went there and the galaxy is mind blowingly massive where anyone can get lost in any location. Kix was lost for 5 decades on a desert planet in the expansion region. The same could be the same for Thrawn and Ezra. This show has it’s own story to tell. Dave has no reason to go full fan service because _that_ is poor storytelling. I hope they mature in season 2. I just could not get into the majority of the stories and the characters this season and felt if I was 20 years younger I would've enjoyed it more. I felt Rebels and TCW had stronger first seasons.
I disagree about resistance being as dark as rebels season 1. Rebels season 1 had Ezra channeling into the dark side, the grand inquisitior, a much darker colour palette. Resistance for me is still way too goofy. Even Kaz reacting to hosnian prime was not emotional.
Resistance stole their season 1 ending from FUTURAMA! How's that for originality for you? Before Futurama came back a final time, their 4th movie ended with them going into a warp and not knowing where it'll come out. Also, if they're traveling in hyperspace not knowing where they're going, THEY CAN JUST STOP THE SHIP AND RE-INPUT THE CORRECT COORDINATES. This is beyond stupid here. Do the writers not know anything about Star Wars?
Stopping a huge station like the Colossus probably isn’t as simple as stopping a smaller craft in Hyperspace. And Star Wars has always stolen stuff from other stuff, dude! The whole franchise started out as a ripoff of Flash Gordon. There are countless references, homages, and ripoffs of things from other movies like The Searchers, Triumph of the Will, Ben-Hur, The Wizard of Oz, and more!! Why not throw Futurama into the mix?

im sure the new republic did build new warships since the fall of the empire but most were destroyed along with hosnian system

I know Jace Rucklin had like one episode in season 1 but I loved his character simply because he was voiced by Elijah Wood.

This show has it’s own story to tell. Dave has no reason to go full fan service because _that_ is poor storytelling.

I hope they mature in season 2. I just could not get into the majority of the stories and the characters this season and felt if I was 20 years younger I would've enjoyed it more. I felt Rebels and TCW had stronger first seasons.

I disagree about resistance being as dark as rebels season 1. Rebels season 1 had Ezra channeling into the dark side, the grand inquisitior, a much darker colour palette. Resistance for me is still way too goofy. Even Kaz reacting to hosnian prime was not emotional.
Resistance stole their season 1 ending from FUTURAMA! How's that for originality for you? Before Futurama came back a final time, their 4th movie ended with them going into a warp and not knowing where it'll come out. Also, if they're traveling in hyperspace not knowing where they're going, THEY CAN JUST STOP THE SHIP AND RE-INPUT THE CORRECT COORDINATES. This is beyond stupid here. Do the writers not know anything about Star Wars?
Stopping a huge station like the Colossus probably isn’t as simple as stopping a smaller craft in Hyperspace. And Star Wars has always stolen stuff from other stuff, dude! The whole franchise started out as a ripoff of Flash Gordon. There are countless references, homages, and ripoffs of things from other movies like The Searchers, Triumph of the Will, Ben-Hur, The Wizard of Oz, and more!! Why not throw Futurama into the mix?
