  • Many women feel like they developed negative health effects after getting breast implants. Although generally regarded as safe, implants can be a source of chronic inflammation, bacterial and fungal growth, and toxin release. Dr. Whitfield and I discuss the various concerns regarding breast implant related illness.
    Dr. Whitfield is a board certified plastic surgeon who offers the latest and newest methods of injectables, skin tightening, and more.

    My implants almost killed me. I had 11 years of different illnesses that no doctor could find answers to. I felt toxic, I looked old and felt old. My mouth and body odor was terrible. My hair fell out. I had vag bleed for 8 months then I had Premature menopause, low libido, heat intolerance, metalic taste, weight gain, dental cavities, severe dry mouth, joint pain, arm numbness, severe bloating and gas. Blurry vision, choking sensation during meals, chest pressure, leg swelling, constipation, severe insomnia, irritability, depression, elevated ANA and sed rate. I was left with memory problems to the point where I had to quit my job. I was left sick and broke. I finally found a doctor in Tijuana Mexico, short walk across the border of San Diego that took them out . Cost me a lot less that what was quoted to me by doctors here in the US. I am 1 week postop and I have been feeling so much better . I was told I will have to detox my system to get back to normal. I would encourage anyone with breast or buttock implant to get them out if you are feeling sick without any explanation from doctors .

    I just got my 12 year old textured silicone breast implants explanted on Dec 4th, 2019. I was sick on and off for the 12 full years. I’m happy to see doctors giving there honest feedback. The honest feedback and feelings towards this issue with breast implant illness. This makes me feel like the doctor know they have a great responsibility to stand by there work and the medical devices they are using on a daily basis.

    They're all toxic and so many women on TH-cam shared they illness stories. This should be banned or educate your patients about the risks. I'm really shocked with the society for women who need to go under the knife to feel beautiful.

    Textured implants are tied to an implant related lymphoma called BIA-ALCL. A fairly new revelation believed to be tied to a biofilm created around the implant between the capsule which forms after every implantation. Implants should be removed “en bloc”. Appreciate his willingness to be real & accept that some women do get breast implant related illness. Most plastic surgeons do not appreciate this fact & do not take his approach. Also that of not reimplanting because of all he mentioned.

      Right on sweetpeace5! Dr. Whitfield is very familiar with BIA-ALCL.

    Good to see this explant shift or choosing against implants! There is a lifetime of future surgeries ahead with breast implants that isn't discussed... aged implant exchanges, capsular contractures, weighted implant breast lifts, plus numbness, etc (not to mention the serious BII health issues).

    I'm having an explant after 13 years of implants. I've come down with some illnesses that seem to go along with implants - mine are saline, which I'm thankful for, but I still want them out. Then I'll asses if they were the cause of what's been going on in my body. Overall, I feel healthy, but do have BII symptoms - it's real.

      Jocelyn riyah I am very scared too especially since I can not afford to get them out. I have had mine for 23 years (saline) and I feel I have many symptoms but I will admit, I have thought these things were age and thought I got dealt a “bad hand” of luck. I will continue to research this.

    Why does Dr. Oubre laugh when Dr. Whitfield talks about BII not being an official diagnosis ?

    • @OubreMedical
      @OubreMedical  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm probably laughing at how conventional medicine refuses to acknowledge a legitimate illness. At what time did you see this occur?

    • @WRTruthMatters
      @WRTruthMatters 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As I said, right after Dr. Whitfield mentions that BII is not an official diagnosis that one could "find in a book" you laugh. To be fair, both of you laugh after you ask Dr. Whitfield how many women he implants. You just appear to have a very cavalier attitude towards women with breast implants who are suffering with a myriad of health problems. Do you not have any understanding of how two foreign objects that bleed silicone through the permeable shell could cause a woman's immune system to respond and in many cases become dysfunctional?

    • @OubreMedical
      @OubreMedical  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'm sorry that you are interpreting my gestures as offensive, but I would urge you to take things in context. Dr. Whitfield and I are actively promoting and validating that women are suffering from implant related illness. Why would we also be mocking them? This simply doesn't make sense.
      Maybe you're watching the video with a pre-conceived notion that two MEN can't possibly know what it's like to suffer from a breast condition? In which case, you would be right. We can't possibly know. But, I guarantee you that Dr. Whitfield and I are two very caring and empathic physicians who want the best for our patients ... whatever that may be or look like.
      I do hope that you understand that we are both legitimately trying to help people. Otherwise, I would not have stuck my neck out into a controversial side of medicine.

      I think it has more to do with the fact that science/medical expertise will probably never officially call BII a diagnosis. I believe both doctors are honest, forthright and concerned about women issues. Women in general have been dismissed as a majority when it comes to advances and diagnosis in the medical community. Our complaints are invalidated on our own, meaning unless a man calls attention to it, it doesn't matter what our list of issues are. The doctors weren't laughing at this not being able to call it an official diagnosis, rather the ridiculous obviousness that so many women have issues, continue to have issues, and many of the issues are the same....

    He hasnt had problems but his patients have and will... we dont allways go to the dr who put it in since he was the idiot saying it was safe. Nobbbb I have lost respect of all doctors.

    Explant them and then Reimplant them😫.... see why I have lost my respect for these people.

    • @OubreMedical
      @OubreMedical  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reimplantation is based on the patient's request to have a certain body image. Clearly, the patient would be extremely versed in the complications since they went through explantation.
      If Dr. Whitfield won't do it, someone else will. So, why wouldn't he reimplant when it's what the patient wants? Plus, he gets to choose implants that are the safest and least toxic.

  • @evatoney6493
    @evatoney6493 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sounds like your trying to invalidate BII...blaming colleagues techniques...I’m sorry but I suffered for 16 years and in a group of 110,000 women where 10 women a day are removing implants and recovering...this needs more attention...so tired of being invalidated ...it hurts ...breaks us down after all we have suffered. Iv never seen so much attention brought to a medical issue be so overlooked...i often wonder if this was more of a “male” issue of it would be approached differently...after all women are just anxiety ridden emotional beings and hypochondriacs...right??? I explanted 12 days ago ...along with 9 women in my support group that same day...people don’t throw out their breast based on a hunch...years and years of testing and researching led me to the choice I made. Please look further into this .

    I pray for all in this issue as it affects millions of women, men, and even the Trans community.

      You're confused about my smirk just like the other person's string of comments. My smirk was at conventional medicine because conventional medicine is the one acting like it's no big deal. Why would I do a video promoting breast implant related illness if I thought it wasn't a big deal?
      Think about it.

      If you are sincere I apologize but it comes off disingenuous. Explanted 3/8 and seen so many horrendous cases that debilitated lives. This is only the tip of the iceberg now that the FDA is coming to the table this coming week.

      @@cg741graf5 I completely agree, Carrie. I have multiple explanted patients since Dr. Whitfield is down the hall from me, and he is one of the guys leading the charge.
