I want to get into the Trails games so bad. I really do. But they are just so damn slow. I got 35 hours into Cold Steel and tapped out. Trails from Zero is holding up a bit better for me, but it’s rough too. Hoping for the new series!
There are some channels that do good summaries of the games, I basically learned a lot about the lore and the world before I continued with Cold Steel 3. I watched LadyVirgilia’s videos, the biggest downside is that they were kinda long and it took some time, but I understand a lot more because of it, and they were actually fairly entertaining.
I find taking my time with them works better. Play for an hour or two a day and then do something else. They have a relaxed pace and a lot to take in but the pay off is definitely worth it.
Start from Sky FC, it's slow, but once you get to the latter half of the game the hype moments don't stop. Sky SC is just wall to wall epic moments, Sky 3rd Chapter is a Dungeon Crawler, but there's some really good story and character development for the main character. Zero is an intro game, but the cast stays together more so they have a really fun dynamic. And just like every sequel in the series, Azure is just wall to wall awesomeness. Cold Steel 1 is definitely slow, but CS2 picks up the slack. And then CS3 is slow until The 4th Chapter, but then CS4 is again just hype moments. Really if you don't connect with the characters then Trails may not be the right series for you. Some of the games are *VERY* slow burns.
I liked the Trails games at first, amazing world building, great character development and more. Now it has devolved into typical shounen flashy anime, just because they have a stronger engine capable of doing it now. I thought the Trails games, while rooted in anime was aiming for at least some degree of realism. Now everyone is cutting beams, having impossibly impractical hair and being badasses. The character designs are also becoming more cliché. They also refuse to kill off characters. Anyone else feel the same?
nope, still got the same spirit and they are doing awesome cutscenes as an extra since they can. Play it and you will still find the world building and characters development.
Are you kidding me? Did you see the shit people like loewe and cassius managed to pull off in the very first games? Shadow clones, impossible feats of agility and strength, cutting machines in half... It's the same it's always been. The amazing world and characters are better than ever now. The fights are just as flashy as they've always intended them to be, especially when you see characters of shizuna and kashim's caliber duking it out. The world's just big enough now to hold more than a handful of people in the big leagues. Besides, every other character in the scene is fighting on a completely different scale than these two behemoths.
@@hamsterman5735 Yeah I think just because of the graphical fidelity of the first three games, people kind of forget that it was always anime as fuck. No idea how the Kuro games are (super looking forward to them and Reverie, and perfectly content waiting to get em). Worldbuilding is still aces, although I will absolutely admit the later half of Cold Steel is kind of a glorious mess lol
Falcom is really stepping up his game man, theres no stopping them rn.
Holy carp this has to be the most animated video game fight Falcom has ever did
Yeah this fight scene was the best action bit that they’ve done in the entire series in terms of choreography
@@yohanzeta I most fight scene in coldsteel look stiff and slow-motion
@@yohanzeta probably best part of the entire game. Hopefully they will step it up even further for Crow in the next game.
@@coupdegrace2767 I hope so! Would love to see Crow make an appearance in the next game
I'm gonna miss the Cold Steel fights where characters just slid towards each other.
Though the fight didn't have a conclusion, Kasim seemed to actually have an advantage over Shizuna.
She literally cut his blast back at him lol

Finally a really great fight scene since Sky.
This looks interesting. これは面白そうだ。
