He was the best tin man capturing the essence of the character… he matched Michael’s energy and that says a lot.

💯agree about him Being THE best
Love this song. Nipsy Russell was perfect for this character.
R.I.P. Nipsey Russell (1918-2005) (The Tin Man) and Michael Jackson (1958-2009) (The Scarecrow).
And Ted Ross (1934-2022) (The Lion)
He died in 2002 not 2022. @@that_one_guy_you_walk_past

My favorite part on the whole song
I love the metal pieces harmonizing. That’s my favorite part.
Man, Nipsey’s moves were smooth and in the pocket with the music at 1:20. Wish I could see the feet movement too.
I saw this when I was a child.classic.
Love his voice! love this scene!
Nipsey was a dancer. An entertainer ❤
Nipsy did it all, sung plus was a good actor
And a wonderful poet as well
That’s one of the best movies ever done and it didn’t get the respect recognition and praise that it should’ve gotten,💯💯💕💕
Another song with a great message in it. What would music be like without optimism truth in it. Wicked messages is so prevalent these days. We are truly blessed to receive positive messages and of course the feedback from everyone around 🇺🇸😇
Could you explain the great message to me? I think it's a great song, but I don't see any moral truth in it.

@joy-xw2xb it's a great film that gets overlooked. In hindsight they did a good job.
Gotta thank Quincy Jones for the production.

I did that tap dance scene with the faces at my school talent show in 3rd grade and lost but it felt good 😂
1:58 there’s something haunting about those voices, as if the last bit of the carnival’s life is going out one last time for the trio
always my fave part as a kid
Nipsey hustle got his name here

Diddy entered the chat. 👀👀🤣😅😂😂
Exactly what I was thinking 😭😭
@@nicobrown770 I'm surprised NOBODY took this scene and made a Diddy meme of it. 🤣😂😂😅
Nipsey did his Thang !
I love it this is my favourite movie
Apparently, this is P Diddy's favorite song.
I knew it was coming 😂😂😂😂
😂😂
If Diddy only seen this.
Who's gonna make the first Diddy meme from this?
Someone needs to add Diddy face to this song
0:53 I'm beginning to feel just fine 😂😂😂
Diddy😅😅😅
Maybe I’m just a theatre geek but… the tin man has always seemed to be an alcoholic to me who numbs himself in order to “feel”. The lion resonates with the pressure of looking scary and strong ( the way black men are viewed) and the inability to be afraid. The scarecrow is a representation of the everyday black person. Things like Jim Crow, and the mindset of others can cause us to believe that we don’t “have a brain” because we don’t use our own. His ideologies from the beginning were only made from his surroundings. I could go forever but that would practically be a book😭
Oz in the style of 20th century Earth.
Agreed with all but the Tin Man part
1000 bottles
This is what d-wades statue looks like!😊
This is what p Diddy needed the oil for
Diddy be like:
Nipsy, so intelligent and talented ever watch him on the old " To Tell the Truth" its not to often contestants get one over on him.
I started playing this when my wife kept hearing my knee kept popping
1:27 hit different when you been in a slump
Wow Diana Ross is the only living cast member of this movie
2023 anyone?

NIPSEY WAS GREAT, THE ORIGINAL IN THE WIZARD OF OZ, TIN MAN, COULDN'T TOUCH NIPSEY'S VERSION WITH A TEN FOOT POLE
The Wiz, not the Wizard of Oz
@@rasputin651 your reading comprehension is weak
This scared me when i was little. I did not understand this scene nor the hookers/ red light district, but I guess they had to be drugged some kind of way
What's not to understand? He's rusty and needed oil to move !
Simple
No diddy
The unofficial song of those who suffer with joint pain and arthritis 🫶
LOL, this scene terrified me as a kid. I would run out the room screaming.
The lion coming out of the statue terrified me as a kid.
How? What was scary ?
No the part in the subway with that guy with the doll that grew tall and started coming after them that's terrifying
@@AlfredWilliams-cq4cq Yep, if you were under 5 this was a horror movie. Oh, and those black faces in the wall that eyes opened when singing the chorus.
Mj could not keep it together 😂

Ikr dancing in a metal suit like this at 60 years old. Quite impressive
No Diddy 🫡

I sure do miss ok ol Nip

I don’t really hate this movie or really dislike it but I just have one question. Why does Nipsy Russel get two solo songs in a row why Michael Jackson gets only one?
Well it's based off the play. The Tin Man does have two songs but they're misplaced in the film while the Scarecrow only has one.
I loved this film ever since I first so it back then but as a sir citizen now I hear the words to each song as a teaching lesson for the future what great work that movie was ti back the racist mentality had such moronic comments still to this day but as fir me it’s a cult classic and loved still till today
❤

Why does he remind me of Kevin Hart?😂😂😂
0:50
Why do they keep trying to change this song?
Heard P Diddy sampled this…
Here after the Aries spears clip
The lyrics aren't that good but I think the Wiz is more about the sets, costumes, and vibe. But for the most part this movie always failed with the songs.
Then you haven't seen the original version of The Wiz. And the lyrics and good and fun.
Stp
Stp, playing Roblox Brat
Why does Dorothy have such a boring costume?
She was a school teacher.
As😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I still prefer Jack Haley.
And yet you watched this video.., why not choose both?
Worst movie ever made… if not top 100
You’re probably part of gen alpha this movie is literally a legend
It's not in the top 100..checked so SHADDAP
some rasist movie
How is it racist?
actually, no! it's a full black cast to celebrate black people and their absence from past media /because/ of racism.
Keep that same energy when watching The Wizard of Oz 1939 :/
You are rude, if you don't like it then don't comment
Found the hater
The creativity was high in this movie, but the songs are really second rate. Whenever there’s a black version of an original white production, it’s just never as good. Do your own stuff peeps.
