Yo when I was 17 I worked at a shoneys buffet and the manager would walk across the street to a gas station and buy a gang of king cobras and stuff them in the ice machine for the closers to get trashed while we spayed down the floors. Great memories.

Mickey's 40oz and Flaming Hot Cheetos were my mistake of choice....
When I was a junior in HS it was 1975 and Schlitz Malt Talls were king of change counting Fridays. Mickey's Bigmouth were when you could afford food to go with. I never quite got to Colt 45, I was suspicious of any brand that could afford TV commercials. The ladies got Boons Farm Strawberry Hill Wine, which was better than chloroform in a hanky and a bottle of rufies.

This is one of the comfort videos I come back to after a long day, even after all these years.
I gotta go with the colt, wrapped in a paper bag for some extra flavor. This, and mad dog, have been there through some of the best times of my life, ending up face down in the gutter. And speaking of a kick to the groin, that usually comes after several bottles of the colt, and staggering into a “massage parlor”. Usually have to pay extra for that, however.

I went to a party back in the early '90s in Lindsay California with some Stoner metalheads and they had a keg of King cobra. I'll never forget that night. They also had a band playing named bludgeon.

I feel like a fitting follow up to this would be a full series of so-called “Old Man” beers. Olympia, Rainier, Schlitz, etc. You’ve already reviewed Hamm’s, another classic yellow American adjutant lager.

You missed the king of malt liquor, Schlitz as well as his faithful sidekick Colt 45. But in a pinch go for the “Mean Green”

I quit drinking years ago out of self defence, I used to drink a lot of Mickey' s malt liqueur. To me it seems the Old English is the clear winner because of the safety bottle and the amazing look on your face when you were pouring into the glass.

As an Englishman, I can tell you with authority that almost everything branded 'Olde' is announcing that it is cheap or nasty or both. This is compounded if the word 'English' also has a unnecessary terminal 'e'. If you see more than two added 'e's, - e.g., 'Olde Englishe Porke' - flee.

In my country, it still can be called "beer". Also, our strong versions typically have 8-8,5% of alcohol (everything that contains more would be taxed). Personally, I love strong beers with around 6% alcohol.

When I was growing up Old English and Private Stock were considered the higher class 40oz. St.Ides had and prob still does the highest alcohol content of any 40oz I know of including Steel reserve.

In the 1980's, our town's dive bar only served Heidelberg on tap. This beer always gave you a headache, not only the next day, BUT WHILE YOU ARE STILL DRINKING IT! UGH!

Since we're being candid. King cobra our favorite of lunch break at the shipyard. That and a gas station roller hot dog. for the desert a finely grated on the pipe clamp Roxy 30 for snorting. Don't hate it was the pill Mill days in Florida and just so you know I don't take opiates anymore I detoxed in the county

So many under the bridge beer snobs think it's an either/or choice. It's not. Mix them in equal parts and you get the best of the worst in one glass.

I've never had Old English before so I went out and bought 40 oz of it and here in Canada it's 8% I chugged the 40 ounce and it kicked like a mule mind you i had 2 shots of good voka befor it but man it actually wasnt that bad taste wise but it did have a bit of after bite. But if you wanna get fucked up i think i paid like 6$ for it. Good price

Hurricane is by far the best malt liquor. Also you want as little head as possible w a 40. If you're buying 40z you can't afford to lose that extra alcohol

My buddy used to drink two king cobras each session. I always took Mickey’s though. Not near as bad

I used to drink more of both of those beers than I can clearly remember, but it's been so long I didn't even know OE800 came in plastic bottles now. Great vid, AKB, you topped off my weekend juuuuust right.
By the way, I don't know if you take recommendations for beer to try, but I would highly urge you to check out the Allagash Brewing Company's 'Curieux', that is hands down the best beer I have ever tasted. Later, tater.

Im from Canada, in my city they banned OE's since the early 2000s cause of gang violence.
We also had another malt liquor which was called "Bull Max" when their was no OE that was the alternative this is all the way back in 97-98
