I had the privilege of knowing Msgr. Hugh Phillips. He had a vision of building the Glass Chapel, and I was honored to build the chapel in 1976. The Grotto holds a special place in my heart and knowing so many have attended services in the Glass Chapel is a blessing that I will always cherish.
My parents took me there when I was 17. I am 64 and go there all the time. One of the holiest places in the US. Now I live about 30 minutes from there. It is a place of reflection. Adoration. Hope. Peace. And loving our Holy Mother. Father Stanley Rother. Father Groschel all knew how sacred it was. Sorry for the misspelling of their last names.
This was a most beautiful Outside the Friary episode. Thank you Fr. Leonard for showing us the grounds of this amazing Shrine! Blessings to all who visit and to all the seminarians who study at the university.
Msgr. Hugh Phillips was one of the most humble priests I ever met and I had the privelage of singing for him at Sunday Masses for seven years. My late husband was his gardener and always marveled at his wisdom and gentle nature. It is indeed Holy Ground.
I’ve gone to this place since 1976. I have been there many many times and this is the most interesting video of the of the Lords grotto in Emmetsburg. Everyone should view this video before they come. It is a very very special holy place and I do think father Leonard he is a very, very interesting priest.
What a amazing place so glad I am hearing and seeing some of it and can't thank you Father Leonard for bringing this all to us. I love Our Lady of Lourdes. My grammar school of St. Francis of Assisi in upstate New York many many years ago they had a enormous Getto of Our Lady of Lourdes. It's no longer their. I went to school there back in the late 1950 to 1964. Thank you again for this outstanding place. This video showed me a place I never new of.
Never heard of this place, people try to tell me the Church is dying, but I keep telling them Holy Spirit watches over it and guides.. Jesus told us He would be with the Church until the end of time. They keep forgetting those words, but I will keep reminding them!
Thank you so much. God bless you. And Merry Christmas ( Christ Mass ). Beautiful place. This place is 70 miles away from me, driving should take me 1 hour and 24 minutes... without traffic I hope. Where I live for 13 miles in traffic takes me 1 hour and 20 minutes. The traffic is worse that a nightmare
God bless Father Leonard and The Grotto team in Maryland 🙏
Hail Mary. Thank you for sharing.

Talking about the first mass. I'm sure it was the traditional Latin Mass
