What happened to the money after katrina and all the planning to prevent this from happening at this level again? Werent the generators at the hospitals replaced? Why was only one shelter open? Why didnt edwards step in and prevent price gauging? Why werent the state troopers on the road through out the whole way on I10 to control the people in traffick? All that effort all that sacrifice during katrina was for nothing. Politicians didnt learn a damn thing. Or they ignored what was suppose to already be in place. There will be alot of answering required after this. And we wont accept piss poor excuses anymore.
This a great comment. I live on the Westbank and have said the same thing. No state troopers,no national guard. From local governments to state government thay all failed. All they do is go on TV and talk a bunch of bull.
Why do people continue, year after year, hurricane after hurricane, to live in this area? Why? Or. Wait til next one? These homes are already below water level

I think the days of trailers stuck on wooden stilts needs to end. All of these homes, if they are going to be there should be cement on cement poles.
