Hello there folks!
I'm thankful that my audience platform is now growing, we're now at 72 subscribers! Hope you enjoy this video, it's a bit long but just finish watching it and see the beauty of a Filipino Knife being born in fire.
It's a Tinuko Knife, my trademark knife design which is a combination of many filipino blade designs. I might think of making a sheath for this, preferably of leather if I find one.
I'm Ramon G. Guian III, from Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. a 3rd generation Smith of the family, which traces back from my grand father Ramon Sr. and his cousin Rigoverio, both of them now deceased. I'm into this arena to never let the legacy of old filipino smithing to die with the men behind them. May my videos inspire you to be one of us, the smiths!
and for my beloved viewers, I would like to clarify that I do make custom blade works preferably of old weapons recreation but in terms of shipping items, I really have no idea how to do it and so, as of now I will only accept over the counter transactions(though a lot of orders are still pending as of the moment).

I have found that burning in the tang into a small log was very helpful for me! I dont have to worry about alignment because I just carve the handle around the blade after its in the wood.

Im commenting as im watching, and I’m seeing that you’re also an FMA practitioner! Im half Filipino myself and my heritage aswell as FMA practice/Filipino history are a couple of my big inspirations when it comes to bladesmithing!

Grabe 18 kapalang pala bro pero galing na gumawa ng mga patalim ako kasi 17 pero sa paghasa palang mejo hirap na hahaha. Ung kutsilyo palang na nahasa kong successful nakakaahit ng balahibo ay yung maliit na malambot na stainless pero pag sa mga makakapal na matigas na bakal hindi ko na mapatalim😆.

Very nice knives as always. Much better if the tang is peened. I don't know why Pinoy bolos and knives do not have peened tangs or full tangs for that matter. Anyways stay safe always and more power to your channel.
Thank you, Sir. there are really filipino blades designed in a through tang and then peened but most commonly they exist in the Luzon areas. I do make peened tangs(more often bolted) but just for larger blades or upon customer's request, an upcoming video will be about that sword-ish :)

@@jojoporrasblacksmithing7867 yun na nga po, hindi actual na kulay ng pina baga na bakal ang nasa video, dahil yan sa camera. standard 1000°C forging temperature ko, pag lumagpas dyan sigurado yun yung masyadong luto, basag. pinamputol pa nga sa pako ng bumili, wala namang reklamo ilang buwan na.
