Best album by Ray Stevens and they need to release this album again along with I Have Returned on CD and iTunes again. I found and bought this one that was released as Mississippi Squirrel Revival that had these songs on it and I Have Returned on CD. They were the hardest CDs to find.
When I sobered up 16 years 7 months ago. To this day not one person from the bar has called or come looking for me to see where I've been... But I'm sure by now they all figured out that I ain't coming back. I'm sure they don't miss me no more than I miss them... LOL... It wasn't easy to stop getting drunk every night. But after the sleepless nights went away and the trimers stopped. And my guts got use to food being in my tummy and not booze. Life got a lot better. In fact I got a bunch of new friends who really know my name and there always happy to see me at the AA club. Oh yea the money I've saved has bought me some nice new tools to play with... LOL
My son went threw that. He stoped drinking as well. Only those old friends of his. Say to him you use to be cool. He works out all the time lost weight. He looked one of those drunk up. They still have a beer in hand and a beer gut. My son lost weight were they got beer guts! He said to this one chick friend that said you use to be cool to him. Well my son says to her you said. I use to be cool. Well you use to be thin and hot. Take that Fat SULT TAKE THE FAT OFF!
I think this was 1984 recording of Ray Stevens. It has been rereleased as the "Mississippi Squirrel Revival Recording" in more modern times with the same songs on it. A very funny album to listen too. Every song made you laugh. On "Ned the Nostril" he tried to imitate Johnny Cash.
Oy, hits you right in the heart.
I brought that album as a cassette at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville in 1989. Funnest album I've ever owned.
Best Ray Stevens album ever!

For a silly song, comes to a beautifully harmonic closing: 3:41
Does anyone have the episode of New Country when he showcased the album? This was one of the songs he did. It was on the original Nashville Network.
LOL!!!
Do you have Ray's Christmas songs?
This would have been better without the idiotic laugh track.
