Absolutely touched once hearing the caption said he retired after this last flight. A caption ended his career with the retirement of an airport. Vis versa. Such iconically. Good choose.
I still remember in the early 1990's there was once I took BA flight from LHR to Kai Tak. The Boeing 747 tried to land in heavy rain and aborted at the very last possible moment because downpour suddenly increased intensity. The plane pulled sharply up over mountains on Hong Kong island and turned a full circle before smoothly landed on the second attempt. Have to cheer for pilots' skills and concentration, especially after the long overnight flight. Shortly after that experience, a China Airlines' 747 overshoot the runway and ended up in Victoria harbour.
